Πραξεις 3
1 Ανέβαινον δε ομού ο Πέτρος και Ιωάννης εις το ιερόν κατά την ώραν της προσευχής την εννάτην.
NOW at that time Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth;
2 Και άνθρωπός τις χωλός υπάρχων εκ κοιλίας μητρός αυτού εβαστάζετο, τον οποίον έθετον καθ' ημέραν προς την θύραν του ιερού την λεγομένην Ωραίαν, διά να ζητή ελεημοσύνην παρά των εισερχομένων εις το ιερόν·
when a certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple called Beautiful, to ask alms of those who were entering into the temple;
3 ούτος ιδών τον Πέτρον και Ιωάννην μέλλοντας να εισέλθωσιν εις το ιερόν, εζήτει να λάβη ελεημοσύνην.
who seeing Peter and John just going into the temple, asked to receive alms.
4 Ατενίσας δε εις αυτόν ο Πέτρος μετά του Ιωάννου, είπε· Βλέψον εις ημάς.
Then Peter fixing his eves stedfastly on him with John, said, Look on us.
5 Και εκείνος έβλεπεν αυτούς μετά προσοχής, προσμένων να λάβη τι παρ' αυτών.
So he attentively regarded them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 Ο δε Πέτρος είπεν· Αργύριον και χρυσίον εγώ δεν έχω· αλλ' ό, τι έχω, τούτο σοι δίδω· εν τω ονόματι του Ιησού Χριστού του Ναζωραίου σηκώθητι και περιπάτει.
Then said Peter, I have neither silver nor gold; but what I have, that I give thee: By the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarean, arise, and walk!
7 Και πιάσας αυτόν από της δεξιάς χειρός εσήκωσε· και παρευθύς εστερεώθησαν αι βάσεις και τα σφυρά των ποδών αυτού,
And taking him by the right hand, he raised him up: and immediately his feet and ancles were restored to strength.
8 και αναπηδήσας εστάθη όρθιος και περιεπάτει, και εισήλθε μετ' αυτών εις το ιερόν περιπατών και πηδών και δοξάζων τον Θεόν.
And springing up he stood on his feet, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 Και είδεν αυτόν πας ο λαός περιπατούντα και δοξάζοντα τον Θεόν·
And all the people beheld him walking and praising God:
10 και εγνώριζον αυτόν ότι ούτος ήτο ο καθήμενος διά ελεημοσύνην εις την Ωραίαν πύλην του ιερού, και επλήσθησαν από θάμβους και εκστάσεως διά το γεγονός εις αυτόν.
and they took notice of him, that it was the same person who had sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with astonishment and amazed at what had happened to him.
11 Και ενώ ο ιατρευθείς χωλός εκράτει τον Πέτρον και Ιωάννην, συνέδραμε προς αυτούς πας ο λαός εις την στοάν την λεγομένην Σολομώντος έκθαμβοι.
But as the lame man that was cured held fast Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them into the portico called Solomon’s, in vast amazement.
12 Ιδών δε ο Πέτρος, απεκρίθη προς τον λαόν· Άνδρες Ισραηλίται, τι θαυμάζετε διά τούτο, ή τι ατενίζετε εις ημάς, ως εάν εκάμομεν από ιδίας ημών δυνάμεως ή ευσεβείας να περιπατή αυτός;
Then Peter observing it, addressed himself to the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why gaze ye upon us, as if by our own power or piety we had enabled this man to walk?
13 Ο Θεός του Αβραάμ και Ισαάκ και Ιακώβ, ο Θεός των πατέρων ημών, εδόξασε τον Υιόν αυτού Ιησούν, τον οποίον σεις παρεδώκατε και ηρνήθητε αυτόν ενώπιον του Πιλάτου, ενώ εκείνος έκρινε να απολύση αυτόν.
The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
14 Σεις όμως τον άγιον και δίκαιον ηρνήθητε, και εζητήσατε άνδρα φονέα να χαρισθή εις εσάς,
But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and besought that a man, a murderer, might as a favour be given unto you;
15 τον δε αρχηγόν της ζωής εθανατώσατε, τον οποίον ο Θεός ανέστησεν εκ νεκρών, του οποίου ημείς είμεθα μάρτυρες.
but ye slew the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead: of which we are witnesses.
16 Και διά της εις το όνομα αυτού πίστεως τούτον, τον οποίον θεωρείτε και γνωρίζετε, το όνομα αυτού εστερέωσε, και η πίστις η δι' αυτού έδωκεν εις αυτόν την τελείαν ταύτην υγείαν ενώπιον πάντων υμών.
And through faith in his name hath his name restored this man to strength, whom ye behold and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the sight of you all.
17 Και τώρα, αδελφοί, εξεύρω ότι επράξατε κατά άγνοιαν, καθώς και οι άρχοντές σας·
And now, brethren, I know that through ignorance ye did this deed, as did also your rulers.
18 ο δε Θεός όσα προείπε διά στόματος πάντων των προφητών αυτού ότι ο Χριστός έμελλε να πάθη, εξεπλήρωσεν ούτω.
But the things which God before announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Messiah should suffer, he hath thus fulfilled.
19 Μετανοήσατε λοιπόν και επιστρέψατε, διά να εξαλειφθώσιν αι αμαρτίαι σας, διά να έλθωσι καιροί αναψυχής από της παρουσίας του Κυρίου,
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when refreshing seasons shall come from the presence of the Lord;
20 και αποστείλη τον προκεκηρυγμένον εις εσάς Ιησούν Χριστόν,
and he will send Jesus Christ, who was before preached unto you:
21 τον οποίον πρέπει να δεχθή ο ουρανός μέχρι των καιρών της αποκαταστάσεως πάντων, όσα ελάλησεν ο Θεός απ' αιώνος διά στόματος πάντων των αγίων αυτού προφητών. (aiōn g165)
whom the heaven indeed must receive, until the times of restoration of all things, which God hath spoken of by the mouth of all his holy prophets from the beginning of the world. (aiōn g165)
22 Διότι ο Μωϋσής είπε προς τους πατέρας Ότι Κύριος ο Θεός σας θέλει αναστήσει εις εσάς προφήτην εκ των αδελφών σας ως εμέ· αυτού θέλετε ακούει κατά πάντα όσα αν λαλήση προς εσάς.
For Moses truly said unto the fathers, “A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you from among your brethren, like myself; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall speak to you.
23 Και πάσα ψυχή, ήτις δεν ακούση του προφήτου εκείνου, θέλει εξολοθρευθή εκ του λαού.
But it shall come to pass, that every soul which will not hearken to that prophet, shall be utterly exterminated from amidst the people.”
24 Και πάντες δε οι προφήται από Σαμουήλ και των καθεξής, όσοι ελάλησαν, προανήγγειλαν και τας ημέρας ταύτας.
And all the prophets indeed from Samuel, and those who succeeded him, as many as have spoken, have also foretold those days.
25 Σεις είσθε υιοί των προφητών και της διαθήκης, την οποίαν έκαμεν ο Θεός προς τους πατέρας ημών, λέγων προς τον Αβραάμ· Και εν τω σπέρματί σου θέλουσιν ευλογηθή πάσαι αι φυλαί της γης.
Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And “in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.”
26 Προς εσάς πρώτον ο Θεός αναστήσας τον Υιόν αυτού Ιησούν απέστειλεν αυτόν διά να σας ευλογή όταν επιστρέφητε έκαστος από των πονηριών υμών.
Unto you in the first instance, hath God, after raising up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, to the end that every one of you should turn away from your iniquities.
