< Thaburi 70 >

1 Thaburi ya Daudi Wee Ngai, hiũha ũũhonokie; Wee Jehova ũka narua ũndeithie.
To the Chief Musician. David’s. To call to Remembrance. [Be pleased] O God, to rescue me, O Yahweh, to help me—make haste.
2 Andũ arĩa mendaga kũnjũraga maroconorithio na manyiitwo nĩ kĩrigiicano; arĩa othe mendaga nyanangwo marocooka na thuutha maconokete.
Let them turn pale and then at once blush, Who are seeking my life, —Let them draw back, and be confounded, Who are taking pleasure in my misfortune;
3 Andũ arĩa mathekagĩrĩra makiugaga atĩrĩ, “Haiya! Haiya!” marocooka na thuutha maconokete.
Let them turn back, on account of their own shame, Who are saying, Aha! Aha!
4 No arĩa othe makũrongoragia marokena na macanjamũke; arĩa mendete ũhonokio waku marotũũra moigaga atĩrĩ, “Ngai arotũgĩrio!”
Let all them be glad and rejoice in thee, Yea, let them, who are seekers of thee, —say continually, God be magnified! Who are lovers of thy salvation.
5 No rĩrĩ, niĩ ndĩ mũthĩĩni na mũbatari; Wee Ngai, hiuha ũũke kũrĩ niĩ. Wee nĩwe ũteithio wakwa na mũhonokia wakwa; Wee Jehova, ndũkagonderere gũũka kũndeithia.
But, I, being humbled and needy, O God, haste to me, —My help and my deliverer, art thou, O Yahweh do not tarry.
