1 Menyagĩrĩrai mweri wa Abibu na mũkũngũyagĩre Bathaka ya Jehova Ngai wanyu, nĩ ũndũ mweri-inĩ wa Abibu nĩguo aamũrutire bũrũri wa Misiri kũrĩ ũtukũ.
“[Each year] honor Yahweh our God by celebrating the Passover [Festival] in the month of Abib [in early spring]. It was on a night in that month that Yahweh rescued your ancestors from Egypt.
2 Nĩmũgathĩnjĩra Jehova Ngai wanyu igongona rĩa Bathaka rĩa nyamũ kuuma rũũru-inĩ rwanyu rwa mbũri kana rwa ngʼombe, mũcithĩnjĩre handũ harĩa Jehova agaathuura ha gũtũũria Rĩĩtwa rĩake.
[In order to celebrate that festival], go to the place that Yahweh will choose [for you to worship him], and offer [there one young animal] from your cattle or your sheep to be the Passover sacrifice, to honor Yahweh [MTY].
3 Mũtikanamĩrĩĩanĩrie na mĩgate mĩĩkĩre ndawa ya kũimbia, no ihinda rĩa mĩthenya mũgwanja mũrĩe mĩgate ĩtarĩ mĩimbie, arĩ yo mĩgate ya mĩnyamaro, nĩ ũndũ mwoimire bũrũri wa Misiri na ihenya, na nĩgeetha matukũ-inĩ mothe ma muoyo wanyu mũririkanage mũthenya ũcio mwoimire bũrũri wa Misiri.
[When you eat the Passover meal], the bread that you eat must not have yeast in it. You must eat this kind of bread, which will be called the bread of suffering/misery, for seven days. This is to help you to remember all during the time that you are alive that when your ancestors left Egypt, [where they were suffering because they were slaves], they left very quickly. [They did not put in yeast and wait for the dough to swell up].
4 Ihinda rĩa mĩthenya mũgwanja mũtikanakorwo mũrĩ na ndawa ya kũimbia bũrũri-inĩ wanyu wothe. Mũtikanareke nyama o ciothe cia iria mũkũruta igongona hwaĩ-inĩ wa mũthenya wa mbere iraare nginya rũciinĩ.
[During that festival], you must not have any yeast in any house in your land for seven days. Furthermore, the meat [of the animals] that you sacrifice on the evening of the first day [of the Passover Festival must be eaten during that night]; do not allow any of it to remain until the next day.
5 Mũtikanathĩnjĩre igongona rĩa Bathaka itũũra-inĩ o rĩothe kũrĩa Jehova Ngai wanyu ekũmũhe,
“To honor Yahweh our God, you must offer the Passover sacrifice only at the place that he chooses for you [to worship him]; do not offer that sacrifice in any other town in the land that Yahweh is giving to you. Offer that sacrifice when the sun is setting, at the same time of day that your ancestors [started to] leave Egypt.
6 tiga o harĩa agaathuura ha gũtũũria Rĩĩtwa rĩake. Hau nĩho mũkaarutĩra igongona rĩa Bathaka hwaĩ-inĩ rĩrĩa riũa rĩthũaga, rĩtuĩke rĩa kũririkana ihinda rĩrĩa mwoimire bũrũri wa Misiri.
7 Mũkaarĩhĩhĩria na mũrĩrĩĩre handũ hau Jehova Ngai wanyu agaathuura. Ningĩ kwarooka gũkĩa mũcooke hema-inĩ cianyu.
Boil [the meat] and eat it at the place [of worship] that Yahweh our God chooses. The next morning, you may return to your tents.
8 Ihinda rĩa mĩthenya ĩtandatũ mũkaarĩĩaga mĩgate ĩtarĩ mĩimbie, naguo mũthenya wa mũgwanja mũgĩe na kĩũngano kĩamũrĩirwo Jehova Ngai wanyu, na mũtikarute wĩra o na ũrĩkũ.
Each day for six days the bread that you eat must have no yeast in it. On the seventh day, you must all gather to worship Yahweh our God. [It will be a day of rest]; you must not do any work on that day.”
9 Taragai ciumia mũgwanja kuuma mwambĩrĩria kũgetha ngano ĩrĩa ĩtarĩ ngethe.
“[Each year], from the day that you start to harvest your grain, count seven weeks.
10 Mũcooke mũkũngũĩre Gĩathĩ gĩa Ciumia nĩ ũndũ wa Jehova Ngai wanyu, na ũndũ wa kũruta maruta ma kwĩyendera maringaine na irathimo iria Jehova Ngai wanyu amũrathimĩte nacio.
Then, to honor Yahweh our God, celebrate the Harvest Festival. Do that by bringing to him an offering [of grain]. Yahweh has blessed you [by causing it to grow in your fields during that year]. If you had a big harvest, bring a big offering. If you had a small harvest, bring a small offering.
11 Na mũkenagĩre Jehova Ngai wanyu mũrĩ handũ harĩa agaathuura ha gũtũũria Rĩĩtwa rĩake, inyuĩ, na ariũ anyu, na airĩtu anyu, na ndungata cianyu cia arũme na cia andũ-a-nja, na Alawii arĩa marĩ matũũra-inĩ manyu, na andũ a kũngĩ, na ciana cia ngoriai, o na atumia a ndigwa arĩa matũũranagia na inyuĩ.
[Each married couple] should be joyful in the presence of Yahweh. Their children, their servants, the descendants of Levi [who are in that town], and the foreigners, orphans, and widows [who are living among you], should also be joyful. Bring those offerings to the place of worship that Yahweh will choose.
12 Ririkanai atĩ mwarĩ ngombo kũu bũrũri wa Misiri, na mũrũmagĩrĩre wega irĩra icio cia watho wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo.
[“When you celebrate these festivals] by obeying these commands, remember that your ancestors were previously slaves in Egypt.”
13 Kũngũyagĩrai Gĩathĩ gĩa Ithũnũ mĩthenya mũgwanja thuutha wa gũcookereria maciaro marĩa moimĩte ihuhĩro-inĩ cianyu cia ngano, na ihihĩro-inĩ cianyu cia ndibei.
“[Each year], after you have threshed all your grain and pressed [the juice from] all your grapes, you must celebrate the Festival of [Living in Temporary] Shelters for seven days.
14 Kenagĩrai Gĩathĩ kĩu kĩanyu, inyuĩ, na ariũ anyu, na airĩtu anyu, na ndungata cianyu cia arũme na cia andũ-a-nja, na Alawii, na andũ a kũngĩ, na ciana cia ngoriai, o na atumia a ndigwa arĩa matũũraga matũũra-inĩ manyu.
[Each married couple] along with their children, their servants, the descendants of Levi [who are in that town], and the foreigners, orphans, and widows [who are living among you], should be joyful in the presence of Yahweh.
15 Kũngũyagĩrai Gĩathĩ kĩu kĩamũrĩirwo Jehova Ngai wanyu ihinda rĩa mĩthenya mũgwanja mũrĩ handũ hau Jehova agaathuura. Nĩgũkorwo Jehova Ngai wanyu nĩakamũrathima magetha-inĩ manyu mothe, na mawĩra-inĩ mothe ma moko manyu, nakĩo gĩkeno kĩanyu nĩgĩkaiganĩra.
Honor Yahweh our God by celebrating this festival for seven days in the place that Yahweh chooses [for you to worship him]. You should all be joyful, because Yahweh will have blessed your harvest and all the other work that you have done.
16 Arũme othe anyu no nginya makeyumĩria mbere ya Jehova Ngai wanyu maita matatũ o mwaka marĩ handũ hau agaathuura: hĩndĩ ya Gĩathĩ kĩa Mĩgate ĩtarĩ Mĩimbie, na ya Gĩathĩ gĩa Ciumia, na ya Gĩathĩ gĩa Ithũnũ. Gũtikanagĩe mũndũ ũkoimĩra mbere ya Jehova moko matheri:
“So, each year all of you Israeli men must gather [with your families] to worship Yahweh our God at the place that he will choose, [to celebrate three festivals]: The Passover Festival, the Harvest Festival, and the Festival of Living in Temporary Shelters. Each of you men must bring [LIT] an offering [for Yahweh to these festivals]
17 O ũmwe wanyu no nginya akarehaga kĩheo kĩringaine na ũrĩa Jehova Ngai wanyu amũrathimĩte.
in proportion to the blessings that Yahweh has given you [during that year].”
18 Mũgaathuura aciiri, o na anene a o mũhĩrĩga kuuma mĩhĩrĩga-inĩ yothe yanyu o itũũra-inĩ o rĩothe Jehova Ngai wanyu ekũmũhe, nao nĩmagatuagĩra andũ ciira wega.
“Appoint judges and other officials throughout your tribes, in all the towns [in the land] that Yahweh our God is giving to you. They must judge people fairly/justly.
19 Mũtikanahotomie ciira kana mũgĩe na gũthutũkania. Mũtikanamũkĩre ihaki, nĩgũkorwo ihaki nĩrĩtũmaga maitho ma mũndũ mũũgĩ matuĩke matumumu, na rĩkoogomia ciugo cia mũndũ ũrĩa mũthingu.
They must not judge unjustly. They must not favor one person more than another. The judges must not accept bribes, because if a judge accepts a bribe, even if he is wise and honest, it will be very difficult for him to judge fairly [IDM]; [he will do what the person who gave him the bribe wants him to do and declare that] the righteous/innocent people [must be punished].
20 Rũmagĩrĩrai kĩhooto kĩo giiki, nĩgeetha mũtũũre muoyo na mwĩgwatĩre bũrũri ũrĩa Jehova Ngai wanyu ekũmũhe.
You must be completely fair and just [DOU], in order that you will enter and occupy the land that Yahweh our God is giving to you.”
21 Mũtikanahaande gĩtugĩ kĩa Ashera mwena-inĩ wa kĩgongona kĩrĩa mũgaathondekera Jehova Ngai wanyu,
“When you make an altar to worship Yahweh our God, do not put next to it any wooden statue [that represents] the goddess Asherah.
22 na mũtikanaake ihiga rĩa kũhooyagwo, nĩgũkorwo Jehova Ngai wanyu nĩathũire maũndũ macio.
And do not set up any [stone] pillar [to worship any idol, because] Yahweh hates them.”
