Psalm 37
1 Von David. Entrüste dich nicht über die Bösen
Of David - may not you fret yourself in the evil-doers may not you be jealous of [those who] do unrighteousness.
2 denn schnell wie das Gras verwelken sie und verdorren wie grünender Rasen.
For like grass quickly they will wither and like [the] greenery of vegetation they will fade!
3 Vertrau auf den HERRN und tu das Gute, bleib wohnen im Lande und übe Redlichkeit
Trust in Yahweh and do good dwell [the] land and graze faithfulness.
4 und habe deine Lust am HERRN: so wird er dir geben, was dein Herz begehrt.
And take delight on Yahweh so he may give to you [the] requests of heart your.
5 Befiehl dem HERRN deine Wege und vertraue auf ihn: er wird’s wohl machen
Roll on Yahweh way your and rely on him and he he will act.
6 und deine Gerechtigkeit strahlen lassen wie das Licht und dein Recht wie den hellen Mittag.
And he will bring forth like the light righteousness your and justice your like the noontide.
7 Sei stille dem HERRN und harre auf ihn, entrüste dich nicht über den, der Glück hat bei seinem Tun, über den Mann, der Ränke übt!
Be still - to Yahweh and wait longingly for him may not you fret yourself in [one who] makes prosperous way his in a person [who] makes plots.
8 Steh ab vom Zorn und entsage dem Grimm, entrüste dich nicht: es führt nur zum Bösestun!
Refrain from anger and forsake rage may not you fret yourself only to do evil.
9 Denn die Übeltäter werden ausgerottet, doch die da harren des HERRN, die werden das Land besitzen.
For evil-doers they will be cut off! and [those who] wait for Yahweh they they will possess [the] land.
10 Nur noch ein Weilchen, so wird der Frevler nicht mehr sein, und siehst du dich um nach seiner Stätte, so ist er nicht mehr da;
And yet a little and there not [will be the] wicked and you will look carefully on place his and there not [will be] he.
11 die stillen Dulder aber werden das Land besitzen und sich freun an der Fülle des Friedens.
And humble [people] they will possess [the] land and they will take delight on abundance of well-being.
12 Böses sinnt der Frevler gegen den Gerechten und knirscht mit den Zähnen gegen ihn;
[is] plotting [the] wicked To the righteous and [is] gnashing towards him teeth his.
13 der Allherr aber lacht über ihn, denn er sieht, daß sein Tag kommt.
[the] Lord He laughs to him for he sees that it will come day his.
14 Die Frevler zücken das Schwert und spannen den Bogen, um den Dulder und Armen niederzustrecken und die redlich Wandelnden hinzumorden;
A sword - they have drawn wicked [people] and they have bent bow their to make fall [the] poor and [the] needy to slaughter [people] upright of way.
15 doch ihr Schwert dringt ihnen ins eigne Herz, und ihre Bogen werden zerbrochen.
Sword their it will go in own heart their and bows their they will be broken.
16 Das geringe Gut des Gerechten ist besser als der Überfluß vieler Gottlosen;
[is] good [the] little Of the righteous more than [the] wealth of wicked [people] many.
17 denn die Arme der Gottlosen werden zerbrochen, die Gerechten aber stützt der HERR.
For [the] arms of wicked [people] they will be broken and [is] sustaining righteous [people] Yahweh.
18 Der HERR kennt wohl die Tage der Frommen, und ihr Besitz ist für immer gesichert;
[is] knowing Yahweh [the] days of blameless [people] and inheritance their for ever it will be.
19 sie werden nicht zuschanden in böser Zeit, nein, in den Tagen des Hungers werden sie satt.
Not they will be ashamed in a time evil and in days of famine they will be satisfied.
20 Dagegen die Gottlosen gehen zugrunde, und die Feinde des HERRN sind wie die Pracht der Auen: sie vergehen wie Rauch, sie vergehen!
For wicked [people] - they will perish and [the] enemies of Yahweh [will be] like a splendid [thing] of pastures they will come to an end in smoke they will come to an end.
21 Der Gottlose muß borgen und kann nicht zahlen, der Gerechte aber schenkt und gibt;
[is] borrowing [the] wicked And not he repays and [the] righteous [is] showing favor and giving.
22 denn die vom HERRN Gesegneten erben das Land, aber die von ihm Verfluchten werden vernichtet.
For blessed [ones] his they will possess [the] land and cursed [ones] his they will be cut off.
23 Vom HERRN her werden die Schritte des Mannes gefestigt, und zwar wenn Gefallen er hat an seinem Wandel;
From Yahweh [the] steps of a man they are established and way his he delights in.
24 wenn er strauchelt, stürzt er nicht völlig nieder, denn der HERR stützt ihm die Hand.
For he will fall not he will be thrown down for Yahweh [is] supporting hand his.
25 Ich bin jung gewesen und alt geworden, doch hab’ ich nie den Gerechten verlassen gesehn, noch seine Kinder betteln um Brot.
A young man - I have been also I am old and not I have seen [the] righteous forsaken and offspring his seeking food.
26 Allzeit kann er schenken und darleihn, und auch noch seine Kinder sind zum Segen.
All the day [he is] showing favor and [he is] lending and offspring his [become] a blessing.
27 Halte dich fern vom Bösen und tu das Gute, so wirst du für immer wohnen bleiben;
Turn away from evil and do good and dwell for ever.
28 Denn der HERR hat das Recht lieb und verläßt seine Frommen nicht: ewiglich werden sie behütet, doch der Gottlosen Nachwuchs wird ausgerottet.
For Yahweh - [is] loving justice and not he will abandon faithful [people] his for ever they are preserved and [the] offspring of wicked [people] it is cut off.
29 Die Gerechten werden das Land besitzen und bleiben in ihm wohnen für immer.
Righteous [people] they will possess [the] land so they may dwell for ever on it.
30 Des Gerechten Mund läßt Weisheit hören, und seine Zunge redet Recht;
[the] mouth of [the] righteous It utters wisdom and tongue his it speaks justice.
31 das Gesetz seines Gottes wohnt ihm im Herzen, und seine Schritte wanken nicht.
[the] law of God his [is] in heart his not it slips steps his.
32 Der Gottlose lauert dem Gerechten auf und sucht ihn ums Leben zu bringen;
[is] watching A wicked [person] for righteous [person] and [is] seeking to kill him.
33 doch der HERR läßt ihn nicht fallen in seine Hand und läßt ihn nicht verdammen vor Gericht.
Yahweh not he will abandon him in hand his and not he will condemn as guilty him when is judged he.
34 Harre des HERRN und halte dich an seinen Weg, so wird er dich erhöhn zum Besitz des Landes; an der Gottlosen Vernichtung wirst du deine Freude sehn.
Wait to Yahweh - and keep way his and he will exalt you to possess [the] land when are cut off wicked [people] you will see.
35 Ich hab’ einen Frevler gesehen, der trat gar trotzig auf und spreizte sich stolz wie ein grünender, ragender Baum;
I have seen a wicked [person] ruthless and spreading himself like a native tree luxuriant.
36 doch als ich (wieder) vorüberging, da war er verschwunden, und als ich ihn suchte, war er nicht mehr zu finden.
And he passed away and there! there not [was] he and I sought him and not he was found.
37 Bleibe (also) fromm und halte dich recht, denn solchen wird es zuletzt wohl ergehn;
Watch [the] blameless and see [the] upright for a future [belongs] to a person of peace.
38 die Frevler aber werden allesamt vertilgt, und der Gottlosen Nachwuchs wird ausgerottet.
And transgressors they will be destroyed altogether [the] future of wicked [people] it will be cut off.
39 Die Hilfe der Gerechten kommt vom HERRN: er ist ihre Schutzwehr zur Zeit der Not;
And [the] salvation of righteous [people] [is] from Yahweh place of refuge their in a time of trouble.
40 denn der HERR steht ihnen bei und rettet sie; er rettet sie von den Frevlern und bringt ihnen Hilfe, weil auf ihn sie ihr Vertrauen setzen.
And he helped them Yahweh and he delivered them he delivers them from wicked [people] and he saves them for they have taken refuge in him.
