Psalm 80
1 Ein Psalm Assaphs von den Spanrosen, vorzusingen. Du Hirte Israels, höre, der du Joseph hütest wie der Schafe; erscheine, der du sitzest über Cherubim!
Unto the end, for them that shall he changed, a testimony for Asaph, a psalm. Give ear, O thou that rulest Israel: thou that leadest Joseph like a sheep. Thou that sittest upon the cherubims, shine forth
2 Erwecke deine Gewalt, der du vor Ephraim, Benjamin und Manasse bist, und komm uns zu Hilfe!
Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasses. Stir up thy might, and come to save us.
3 Gott, tröste uns und laß leuchten dein Antlitz, so genesen wir.
Convert us, O God: and shew us thy face, and we shall be saved.
4 HERR, Gott Zebaoth, wie lange willst du zürnen über dem Gebet deines Volks?
O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy servant?
5 Du speisest sie mit Tränenbrot und tränkest sie mit großem Maß voll Tränen.
How long wilt thou feed us with the bread of tears: and give us for our drink tears in measure?
6 Du setzest uns unsern Nachbarn zum Zank, und unsere Feinde spotten unser.
Thou hast made us to be a contradiction to our neighbours: and our enemies have scoffed at us.
7 Gott Zebaoth, tröste uns! Laß leuchten dein Antlitz, so genesen wir.
O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.
8 Du hast einen Weinstock aus Ägypten geholet und hast vertrieben die Heiden und denselben gepflanzet.
Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast cut the Gentiles and planted it.
9 Du hast vor ihm die Bahn gemacht und hast ihn lassen einwurzeln, daß er das Land erfüllet hat.
Thou wast the guide of its journey in its sight: thou plantedst the roots thereof, and it filled the land.
10 Berge sind mit seinem Schatten bedeckt und mit seinen Reben die Zedern Gottes.
The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.
11 Du hast sein Gewächs ausgebreitet bis ans Meer und seine Zweige bis ans Wasser.
It stretched forth its branches unto the sea, and its boughs unto the river.
12 Warum hast du denn seinen Zaun zerbrochen, daß ihn zerreißet alles, das vorübergehet?
Why hast thou broken down the hedge thereof, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck it?
13 Es haben ihn zerwühlet die wilden Säue, und die wilden Tiere haben ihn verderbet.
The boar out of the wood hath laid it waste: and a singular wild beast hath devoured it.
14 Gott Zebaoth, wende dich doch, schaue vom Himmel und siehe an und suche heim diesen Weinstock
Turn again, O God of hosts, look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vineyard:
15 und halt ihn im Bau, den deine Rechte gepflanzet hat, und den du dir festiglich erwählet hast.
And perfect the same which thy right hand hath planted: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.
16 Siehe drein und schilt, daß des Brennens und Reißens ein Ende werde!
Things set on fire and dug down shall perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
17 Deine Hand schütze das Volk deiner Rechten und die Leute, die du dir festiglich erwählet hast,
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.
18 so wollen wir nicht von dir weichen. Laß uns leben, so wollen wir deinen Namen anrufen.
And we depart not from thee, thou shalt quicken us: and we will call upon thy name.
O Lord God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.
