Psalm 131

1 Wallfahrtslieder. Von David. Jahwe, mein Herz ist nicht stolz, und meine Augen sind nicht hoffärtig und ich gehe nicht mit Dingen um, die mir zu hoch und zu wunderbar sind,

Yahweh, I am not proud and I have not thought highly about (myself/the things that I have done). And I do not concern myself about things [that you have done] that are very big or very wonderful.

2 sondern ich habe meine Seele gestillt und beschwichtigt: wie ein entwöhntes Kind an seiner Mutter, so ist meine Seele in mir entwöhnt.

Instead, I am calm and peaceful, like a [small] child who lies quietly in its mother’s arms [SIM]. In the same way, I am peaceful.

3 Harre, Israel, auf Jahwe von nun an bis in Ewigkeit!

You [my fellow] Israelis, confidently expect that Yahweh [will do good things for you], now and forever!
