Psalm 130

1 Wallfahrtslieder. Aus der Tiefe rufe ich dich, Jahwe,

Yahweh, I have a lot of troubles/many difficulties, so I call out to you.

2 Herr, höre auf meine Stimme! Möchten deine Ohren aufmerksam sein auf mein lautes Flehn!

Yahweh, hear me, while I call out to you [SYN] to be merciful to me!

3 Wenn du Verschuldungen im Gedächtnis bewahrtest, Jah, Herr, wer kann dann bestehen?

Yahweh, if you kept a record of the sins [that we have committed], not one [of us] [RHQ] would escape from being condemned [and punished]

4 Vielmehr, bei dir steht die Vergebung, damit man dich fürchte.

But you forgive us, with the result that we greatly revere you.

5 Ich harre auf Jahwe; meine Seele harrt auf sein Wort.

Yahweh has said [that he would help/rescue me]; I trust what he said, and I wait eagerly for him to do that.

6 Innig warte ich auf den Herrn, sehnsüchtiger, als Wächter auf den Morgen, als Wächter auf den Morgen.

I wait for Yahweh [to help me] more than watchmen wait for the light to dawn; yes, I wait more eagerly than they do!

7 Harre, Israel, auf Jahwe! Denn bei Jahwe ist die Gnade und bei ihm Erlösung in Fülle,

You [my fellow] Israelis, confidently expect that Yahweh [will bless us]. [He will bless us] because he faithfully loves [us], and he is very willing to save/rescue [us].

8 und er wird Israel erlösen von allen seinen Verschuldungen.

And he will save us Israeli [people] from [being punished for] all the sins that [we] have committed.
