2 Thessalonicher 3
1 Weiter, Brüder, betet für uns, daß das Wort des Herrn seinen Lauf habe und verherrlicht werde, so wie es bei euch geschehen,
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified even as among you;
2 und daß wir errettet werden von den unverständigen und schlechten Menschen. Denn die Treue ist nicht jedermanns Sache;
and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men; for all have not the disposition for faith.
3 der Herr aber ist treu, der wird euch fest machen und bewahren vor dem Bösen.
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you, and keep you from the evil one.
4 Wir aber trauen auf euch im Herrn, daß ihr jetzt und in Zukunft thut, was wir euch anbefehlen.
And we have confidence in the Lord with respect to you, that you both do, and will continue to do, the things which we command you.
5 Der Herr aber richte eure Herzen auf die Liebe Gottes und die Geduld des Christus.
And the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God, and to the patience of the Christ.
6 Wir befehlen euch aber an, Brüder, im Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, euch zurückzuziehen von jedem Bruder, der unordentlich wandelt, und nicht nach der Weisung, die ihr von uns empfangen.
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother that walks disorderly, and not according to the tradition which he received from us.
7 Ihr wisset ja selbst, wie ihr uns nachfolgen müsset.
For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us: for we did not behave in a disorderly manner among you,
8 Wir haben bei euch kein ungebundenes Leben geführt, auch nicht ein Brot von jemand umsonst gegessen, sondern hart und schwer gearbeitet Tag und Nacht, um niemand von euch zur Last zu fallen;
nor did we eat any one’s bread for nothing: but worked with labor and toil, night and day, that we might not burden any one of you;
9 nicht daß wir es nicht Macht hätten, wohl aber um euch ein Vorbild zu geben an uns, dem ihr sollet nachfolgen.
this we did, not because we have not authority, but that we might give ourselves to you as an example, in order that you might imitate us.
10 Denn das eben haben wir, da wir bei euch waren, euch anbefohlen: wer nicht arbeiten will, der soll auch nicht essen.
For when we were with you, we gave you this commandment, that if any one will not work, neither let him eat.
11 Hören wir doch, daß etliche von euch ungebunden leben, nichts arbeiten, sondern sich unnütze machen.
For we hear that some walk about among you in a disorderly manner, doing no work, but being busybodies.
12 Solchen Leuten geben wir Weisung und Mahnung in dem Herrn Jesus Christus, sie sollen in der Stille arbeiten und ihr eigen Brot essen.
Now we command such, and exhort them by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness, and eat their own bread.
13 Ihr aber, Brüder, lasset nicht ab vom anständigen Wandel.
And you, brethren, should not be weary in well-doing.
14 Wenn aber einer meinem brieflichen Worte nicht folgt, den zeichnet und lasset euch nicht ein mit ihm, damit er beschämt werde.
And if any one obey not our word by this letter, note that man, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed;
15 Aber haltet ihn nicht wie einen Feind, sondern warnet ihn wie einen Bruder.
and yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16 Er aber der Herr des Friedens gebe euch den Frieden allewege in aller Weise. Der Herr sei mit euch allen.
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
17 Hier mein des Paulus eigenhändiger Gruß, das Zeichen in jedem Briefe; so schreibe ich.
The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is the token in every letter: so I write.
18 Die Gnade unseres Herrn Jesus Christus mit euch allen.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
