Psalm 135
1 Alleluja! Lobpreist des Herren Namen! Lobpreist ihn ihr, des Herren Diener,
Praise ye Jehovah. Praise ye the name of Jehovah; Praise [him], O ye servants of Jehovah,
2 die ihr im Haus des Herren weilet, in unseres Gotteshauses Höfen!
Ye that stand in the house of Jehovah, In the courts of the house of our God.
3 Singt Alleluja! Denn der Herr ist gut. Singt seinem Namen! Er ist liebreich,
Praise ye Jehovah; for Jehovah is good: Sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
4 hat doch der Herr sich Jakob auserkoren, zu seinem Eigentum sich Israel. -
For Jehovah hath chosen Jacob unto himself, [And] Israel for his own possession.
5 Ich weiß, der Herr ist so gewaltig, daß unser Herr die Götter alle überragt.
For I know that Jehovah is great, And that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Der Herr tut, was er will, im Himmel und auf Erden, im Meer und in den Tiefen all.
Whatsoever Jehovah pleased, that hath he done, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;
7 Der Du heraufführst Wolken von der Erde Ende und Blitze für den Regen bildest, der Du den Wind aus seinen Kammern lässest,
Who causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who maketh lightnings for the rain; Who bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries;
8 der Du die Erstgeburt Ägyptens schlugest, vom Menschen bis zum Vieh,
Who smote the first-born of Egypt, Both of man and beast;
9 und in Ägypten wunderbare Zeichen an Pharao und allen seinen Knechten tatest
Who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants;
10 und große Völker niederschlugst und starke Könige vertilgtest,
Who smote many nations, And slew mighty kings,
11 den Amoriterkönig Sichon, den Basankönig Og und alle Reiche Kanaans
Sihon king of the Amorites, And Og king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan,
12 und deren Land zum ewigen Besitze machtest, zum ewigen Besitze Deines Volkes Israel.
And gave their land for a heritage, A heritage unto Israel his people.
13 Dein Name ist auf ewig "Herr", für alle Zeiten wirst Du "Herr" genannt. -
Thy name, O Jehovah, [endureth] for ever; Thy memorial [name], O Jehovah, throughout all generations.
14 Der Herr schafft seinem Volke Recht, erbarmt sich seiner Diener.
For Jehovah will judge his people, And repent himself concerning his servants.
15 Der Heiden Götzen sind von Gold und Silber, der Menschenhände Werk.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands.
16 Sie haben einen Mund und reden nicht und Augen, doch sie sehen nicht.
They have mouths, but they speak not; Eyes have they, but they see not;
17 Nicht hören sie mit ihren Ohren; kein Odem ist in ihrem Mund.
They have ears, but they hear not; Neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Wie sie, so sollen werden, die sie machen, und so, wer sich auf sie verläßt! -
They that make them shall be like unto them; Yea, every one that trusteth in them.
19 Lobpreis den Herrn, Haus Israel! Du Aaronshaus, Lobpreis den Herrn!
O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah: O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah:
20 Du Levis Haus, Lobpreis den Herrn! Die ihr den Herrn fürchtet, preist den Herrn!
O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah: Ye that fear Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.
21 Gepriesen sei der Herr von Sion aus, der thronet zu Jerusalem! Alleluja!
Blessed be Jehovah out of Zion, Who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye Jehovah.
