1 Chronik 4

1 Judas Söhne sind Peres, Chesron, Karmi, Chur und Sobal.

The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.

2 Sobals Sohn Reaja zeugte Jachat und Jachat den Achumai und den Lahad. Dies sind die Geschlechter der Soratiter.

Truly, Reaiah, the son of Shobal, conceived Jahath; from him were born Ahumai and Lahad. These are the kindred of the Zorathites.

3 Diese haben Etam zum Vater: Jezreel, Sima und Idbas. Ihre Schwester heißt Haslelponi.

And this is the stock of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash. And the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.

4 Ferner Penuel, Gedors Vater, und Husas Vater Ezer. Dies sind die Söhne Churs, des Erstgeborenen Ephrats, des Vaters von Bethlehem.

Now Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratha, the father of Bethlehem.

5 Tekoas Vater Aschur hatte zwei Weiber, Chela und Naara.

Truly, for Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, there were two wives: Helah and Naarah.

6 Naara gebar ihm Achuzam, Chepher, Temni und die Achastariter. Dies sind Naaras Söhne.

And Naarah bore to him: Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These are the sons of Naarah.

7 Der Chela Söhne sind Seret, Ischar und Etnan.

And the sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.

8 Kos zeugte Anub und Sobeba sowie die Sippen des Acharchel, des Harumsohnes.

Now Koz conceived Anub, and Zobebah, and the kindred of Aharhel, the son of Harum.

9 Jabes aber war vornehmer als seine Brüder. Seine Mutter hatte ihn Jabes genannt; sie sprach: "Ich habe ihn ja mit Schmerzen geboren."

But Jabez was renowned, more so than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “For I bore him in sorrow.”

10 Und Jabes rief zu Israels Gott: "Daß Du mich segnest und mein Gebiet vergrößerst und daß Deine Hand mit mir sei und Du Unheil ablenkest, auf daß ich keinen Verdruß habe!" Und Gott erfüllte das, worum er bat.

Truly, Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “If only, when blessing, you will bless me, and will broaden my borders, and your hand will be with me, and you will cause me not to be oppressed by evil.” And God granted to him the things for which he prayed.

11 Suchas Bruder Kelub zeugte Mechir. Das ist der Vater von Eston.

Now Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, conceived Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 Eston zeugte Bet Rapha, Paseach und Techinna, den Vater der Stadt Nachas. Dies sind die Männer von Reka.

Then Eshton conceived Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of the city of Nahash. These are the men of Recah.

13 Des Kenat Söhne sind Otniel und Seraja. Otniels Söhne sind: Chatat.

Now the sons of Kenaz were Othniel and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel were Hathath and Meonothai.

14 Meonotai zeugte Ophra, und Seraja den Joabs den Vater des Tales der Zimmerer. Denn sie waren Zimmerleute.

Meonothai conceived Ophrah, but Seraiah conceived Joab, the father of the Valley of Artisans. For indeed, there were artisans there.

15 Des Jephunnesohnes Kaleb Söhne sind Ir, Ela und Naam, und der Sohn des Ela ist Kenaz.

Truly, the sons of Chelub, the son of Jephunneh, were Iru, and Elah, and Naam. And the sons of Elah: Kenaz.

16 Des Jehallel Söhne sind Ziph, Zipha, Tirja und Asarel.

Also, the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.

17 Ezras Sohn ist Jeter; Mered aber heiratete Jalon. Und sie gebar Mirjam, Sammai und Isbach, des Estemoa Vater.

And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and he conceived Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.

18 Sein jüdisches Weib aber hat Jered, den Vater Gedors, geboren, ferner Cheber, Sokos Vater, und Jekutiel, den Vater von Zanoach. Dies sind die Söhne der wirklichen Pharaotochter, die Mered geheiratet hat.

And then his wife, Judaia, bore Jered, the father of Gedor, and Heber, the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah. Now there were sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married,

19 Die Söhne der Schwester Rachams und der Frau des Hodia sind der Garmiter, Kegilas Vater, und der Maakatiter Estemoa.

and sons of his wife Hodiah, the sister of Naham, the father of Keilah the Garmite, and of Eshtemoa, who was from Maacathi.

20 Simons Söhne sind Ammon, Rinna, Ben Chanan und Tilon. Iseis Söhne sind: Zochet und des Zochet Sohn.

And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, son of Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth and Benzoheth.

21 Des Judasohnes Sela Söhne sind Er, der Vater von Leka, und Lada, der Vater von Maresa, sowie die Sippen des Hauses der Baumwollarbeiter zu Bet Asbe,

The sons of Shelah, the son of Judah: Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, and the kindred of the house of the workers of fine linen in the house of the oath,

22 ferner Jokim und die Männer von Kozeba, sowie Joas und Saraph, die Moab erobert haben, und Jasubi Lechem. Die Geschichten aber sind alt.

and he who caused the sun to stand still, and the men of Lying, and Secure, and Burning, who were leaders in Moab, and who returned into Lehem. Now these words are ancient.

23 Dies sind die Töpfer und Bewohner von Netaim und Gedera. Sie haben dort beim König in seinem Dienste gewohnt.

These are the potters living in the Plantations and in the Hedges, with a king in his works, and they were dwelling there.

24 Simeons Söhne sind Nemuel und Jamin, Jarib, Zerach und Saul,

The sons of Simeon: Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;

25 dessen Sohn war Sallum, dessen Sohn Mibsam und dessen Sohn Misma.

Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

26 Mismas Söhne sind: sein Sohn Chammuel, dessen Sohn Zakkur und dessen Sohn Simei.

The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.

27 Simei aber besaß sechzehn Söhne und sechs Töchter. Seine Brüder aber hatten nicht viele Söhne. Und ihre ganze Sippe mehrte sich nicht so, daß sie den Judäern gleichgekommen wäre.

The sons of Shimei were sixteen, and there were six daughters. But his brothers did not have many sons, and the entire kindred was not equal to the sum of the sons of Judah.

28 Sie wohnten in Beerseba, Molada, Chasar Sual,

Now they lived in Beersheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,

29 in Bilha, Esem, Tolad,

and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad,

30 in Betuel, Chorma, Siklag,

and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,

31 in Bet Markabot, Chasar Susim, in Bet Biri und Saarim. Dies waren ihre Städte, bis David König ward.

and in Beth-marcaboth, and in Hazarsusim, and in Bethbiri, and in Shaaraim. These were their cities until king David.

32 Ihre Dörfer waren Etam, Ajin, Rimmon, Token und Asan, fünf Städte.

And their towns were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,

33 Dazu all ihre Dörfer rings um diese Städte bis nach Baal hin. Dies waren ihre Wohnsitze. Sie hatten auch ihre eigene Sippenliste.

with all their villages, on every side of these cities, as far as Baal. This is their habitation and the distribution of the settlements.

34 Ferner: Mesobab, Jamlek und des Amasja Sohn Josab.

And there were Meshobab and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah,

35 Joel, Jehu, des Josibja Sohn und Enkel des Asielsohnes Seraja,

and Joel, and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 und Eljoënai, Jaakoba, Jesochaja, Asaja, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaja

and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 und Ziza, Siphis Sohn, Allons Enkel und Urenkel des Jedaja, des Sohnes des Simri und Enkels des Semaja.

as well as Ziza, the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.

38 Diese mit Namen Aufgeführten sind in ihren Sippen Fürsten, und das Haus ihrer Väter ist weit verbreitet.

These were the names of the leaders in their kindred. And they were multiplied greatly within the houses of their marriages.

39 Sie zogen vom Zugange nach Gedor, bis östlich vom Tal, um für ihre Herden Weiden zu suchen.

And they set out, so that they might enter into Gedor, as far as the eastern valley, and so that they might seek pastures for their flocks.

40 Sie fanden auch eine fette und gute Weide. Das Land war geräumig, ruhig und friedlich; denn die früheren Bewohner gehörten zu Cham.

And they found fat and very good pastures, and a very wide and quiet and fruitful land, in which some from the stock of Ham had lived before.

41 Diese namentlich Aufgeführten kamen in den Tagen des Judakönigs Ezechias und schlugen Chams Gezelte und die der Mëuniter, die dort waren, und rotteten sie aus bis auf den heutigen Tag. Dann wohnten sie dort an ihrer Stelle. Denn dort war für ihre Herden Weide.

So then, those whose names have been written above, went forth in the days of Hezekiah, the king of Judah. And they struck down the inhabitants who had been found there with their dwellings. And they wiped them out, even to the present day. And they lived in place of them, because they found very fat pastures there.

42 Ein Teil davon aber, von Simeons Söhnen, zog auf das Gebirge Sëir, fünfhundert Mann. An ihrer Spitze Pelatja, Nearja, Rephaja und Uziel, Iseis Söhne.

Also, some of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went away to mount Seir, having as leaders Pelatiah and Neariah and Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43 Sie schlugen Amaleks letzten Rest und wohnten dort bis auf diesen Tag.

And they struck down the remnant of the Amalekites, those who had been able to escape, and they lived there in place of them, even to this day.
