Psalm 17
1 Ein Gebet; von David. Höre, Jehova, die Gerechtigkeit, horche auf mein Schreien; nimm zu Ohren mein Gebet von Lippen ohne Trug!
The prayer of Dauid. Heare the right, O Lord, consider my crye: hearken vnto my prayer of lips vnfained.
2 Von deiner Gegenwart gehe mein Recht aus; laß deine Augen Aufrichtigkeit anschauen!
Let my sentence come forth from thy presence, and let thine eyes beholde equitie.
3 Du hast mein Herz geprüft, hast mich des Nachts durchforscht; du hast mich geläutert, nichts fandest du; mein Gedanke geht nicht weiter als mein Mund.
Thou hast prooued and visited mine heart in the night: thou hast tryed me, and foundest nothing: for I was purposed that my mouth should not offend.
4 Was das Tun des Menschen anlangt, so habe ich mich durch das Wort deiner Lippen bewahrt vor den Wegen des Gewalttätigen.
Concerning the workes of men, by the wordes of thy lips I kept mee from the paths of the cruell man.
5 Meine Schritte hielten fest an deinen Spuren, meine Tritte haben nicht gewankt.
Stay my steps in thy paths, that my feete doe not slide.
6 Ich, ich habe dich angerufen, denn du erhörest mich, o Gott. Neige dein Ohr zu mir, höre meine Rede!
I haue called vpon thee: surely thou wilt heare me, O God: incline thine eare to me, and hearken vnto my wordes.
7 Erweise wunderbar deine Gütigkeiten, der du durch deine Rechte die auf dich Trauenden rettest vor denen, die sich wider sie erheben.
Shewe thy marueilous mercies, thou that art the Sauiour of them that trust in thee, from such as resist thy right hand.
8 Bewahre mich wie den Augapfel im Auge; birg mich in dem Schatten deiner Flügel
Keepe me as the apple of the eye: hide me vnder the shadowe of thy wings,
9 vor den Gesetzlosen, die mich zerstören, meinen Todfeinden, die mich umzingeln.
From the wicked that oppresse mee, from mine enemies, which compasse me round about for my soule.
10 Ihr fettes Herz verschließen sie, mit ihrem Munde reden sie stolz.
They are inclosed in their owne fat, and they haue spoken proudely with their mouth.
11 In allen unseren Schritten haben sie uns jetzt umringt; sie richten ihre Augen, uns zu Boden zu strecken.
They haue compassed vs now in our steps: they haue set their eyes to bring downe to the ground:
12 Er ist gleich einem Löwen, der nach Raub schmachtet, und wie ein junger Löwe, sitzend im Versteck.
Like as a lyon that is greedy of pray, and as it were a lyons whelp lurking in secret places.
13 Stehe auf, Jehova! Komm ihm zuvor, wirf ihn nieder! Errette meine Seele von dem Gesetzlosen durch dein Schwert;
Vp Lord, disappoint him: cast him downe: deliuer my soule from the wicked with thy sworde,
14 von den Leuten durch deine Hand, Jehova, von den Leuten dieses Zeitlaufs! Ihr Teil ist in diesem Leben, und ihren Bauch füllst du mit deinem Schatze; sie haben Söhne die Fülle, und ihren Überfluß lassen sie ihren Kindern.
From men by thine hand, O Lord, from men of the world, who haue their portion in this life, whose bellies thou fillest with thine hid treasure: their children haue ynough, and leaue the rest of their substance for their children.
15 Ich, ich werde dein Angesicht schauen in Gerechtigkeit, werde gesättigt werden, wenn ich erwache, mit deinem Bilde.
But I will beholde thy face in righteousnes, and when I awake, I shalbe satisfied with thine image.
