Psalm 103
1 Von David. / Preise Jahwe, o meine Seele, / Und all mein Innres seinen heiligen Namen!
[A Psalm] of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, [bless] his holy name.
2 Preise Jahwe, o meine Seele, / Und vergiß nicht all seiner Segenstaten!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Er vergibt dir all deine Missetat, / Schafft all deiner Krankheit Heilung.
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Er erlöset dein Leben vom Tode, / Krönt dich mit Huld und Erbarmen.
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Er sättigt dein Alter mit Gutem, / So daß deine Jugend sich wieder erneut / Wie eines Adlers Gefieder.
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good [things; so that] thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 Heilstaten vollführet Jahwe, / Recht schafft er allen Bedrückten.
The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 Mose tat er seine Wege kund, / Israels Söhnen sein herrliches Tun.
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 Barmherzig und gnädig ist Jahwe, / Langmütig und reich an Huld.
The LORD [is] merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 Er hat nicht für immer gehadert / Und nicht auf ewig gezürnt.
He will not always chide: neither will he keep [his anger] for ever.
10 Nicht nach unsern Sünden hat er uns gelohnt, / Uns nicht vergolten nach unsern Vergehn.
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 Sondern so hoch der Himmel ist über der Erde, / So mächtig war seine Huld bei den Frommen.
For as the heaven is high above the earth, [so] great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 So weit der Osten vom Westen ist, / Hat er unsre Frevel von uns entfernt.
As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Wie sich ein Vater der Kinder erbarmt, / Hat Jahwe sich stets erbarmt seiner Frommen.
Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
14 Er weiß ja, wie schwach wir sind, / Er gedenket daran: wir sind Staub.
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we [are] dust.
15 Eines Sterblichen Tage sind wie Gras, / Wie des Feldes Blume, so blüht er.
[As for] man, his days [are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 Fährt über sie ein Windstoß, so ist sie dahin, / Und es kennt sie nicht mehr ihre Stätte.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 Doch Jahwes Gnade erzeigt sich auf ewig an seinen Frommen, / Seine Treue erfahren in jedem Geschlecht
But the mercy of the LORD [is] from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
18 Alle, die seinen Bund bewahren / Und seiner Gebote gedenken, sie zu erfüllen.
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19 Jahwe hat seinen Thron im Himmel errichtet, / Sein Königtum herrscht über alles.
The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20 Preist Jahwe, ihr seine Engel, / Ihr Helden an Kraft, die ihr sein Gebot vollführt, / Indem ihr dem Ruf seines Wortes gehorcht!
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21 Preist Jahwe, ihr seine Heere alle, / Seine Diener, die ihr seinen Willen vollstreckt!
Bless ye the LORD, all [ye] his hosts; [ye] ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22 Preist Jahwe, ihr seine Werke all, / An jedem Ort seines Herrschaftsgebiets! / Preise Jahwe auch meine Seele!
Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.
