Psalm 102
1 Das Gebet eines Elenden, wenn er verzagt ist / und seine Klage vor Jahwe ergießt.
A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
2 Jahwe, höre doch mein Gebet, / Laß meinen Notschrei zu dir dringen!
Hide not thy face from me in the day [when] I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day [when] I call answer me speedily.
3 Verbirg dein Antlitz nicht vor mir, / Wenn ich in Bedrängnis bin! / O neige dein Ohr zu mir, / Wenn ich zu dir rufe. / Erhöre mich eilend!
For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
4 Denn meine Tage sind wie ein Rauch vergangen, / Mein Gebein ist durchglüht wie ein Herd.
My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
5 Mein Herz ist wie Gras, vom Glutwind getroffen: es ist verdorrt; / Denn ich habe sogar vergessen, mein Brot zu genießen.
By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
6 Vor lautem Jammern / Klebt mein Gebein mir am Fleisch.
I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
7 Ich gleiche dem Pelikan in der Wüste, / Ich bin wie ein Käuzlein in Trümmerstätten.
I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
8 Nachts bin ich schlaflos wie ein Vogel, / Der einsam sitzt auf dem Dach.
Mine enemies reproach me all the day; [and] they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
9 Allzeit schmähen mich meine Feinde; / Die wider mich rasen, schwören bei mir.
For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
10 Denn Asche hab ich als Brot gegessen / Und mein Getränk mit Tränen gemischt.
Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
11 Dein Grimm und Zorn hat das bewirkt: / Du hast mich vom Boden gehoben, dann niedergeschleudert.
My days [are] like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.
12 Meine Tage sind wie ein langer Schatten, / Und ich selbst verdorre wie Gras.
But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
13 Du aber, Jahwe, wirst ewig thronen, / Dein Gedächtnis währt in allen Geschlechtern.
Thou shalt arise, [and] have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
14 Du wirst dich erheben, dich Zions erbarmen. / Denn Zeit ist's, ihm Gnade zu schenken: die Stunde ist da.
For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
15 Denn deine Knechte lieben seine Steine, / Und sein Schutt erfüllt sie mit Jammer.
So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
16 Dann werden die Heiden Jahwes Namen fürchten / Und alle Könige der Erde deine Herrlichkeit,
When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
17 Wenn Jahwe Zion hat neugebaut, / In seinem Glanze erschienen ist.
He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
18 Er hat ja der Heimatlosen Gebet erhört / Und nicht verachtet ihr Flehen.
This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
19 Dies soll verzeichnet werden für spätre Geschlechter. / Ein Volk, das erst noch ins Dasein tritt, / Soll Jah lobpreisen.
For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
20 Denn er hat herabgeschaut von seiner heiligen Höhe, / Jahwe hat vom Himmel zur Erde geblickt,
To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
21 Um der Gefangnen Seufzen zu hören, / Die dem Tode Verfallnen freizumachen,
To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22 Damit man in Zion von Jahwes Namen erzähle, / Von seinem Ruhm in Jerusalem,
When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
23 Wenn die Völker alle zusammenkommen / Und die Königreiche, um Jahwe zu dienen.
He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
24 Auf dem Wege hat er meine Kraft gebrochen, / Er hat meine Tage verkürzt.
I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years [are] throughout all generations.
25 Nun ruf ich: "Mein Gott, raffe mich nicht weg / In der Hälfte meiner Tage!" / Deine Jahre währen ja / Bis in die fernsten Geschlechter.
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens [are] the work of thy hands.
26 Vorzeiten hast du die Erde gegründet, / Und die Himmel sind deiner Hände Werk.
They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
27 Sie werden vergehn, du aber bleibst. / Sie alle veralten wie ein Kleid. / Du wirst sie wechseln wie ein Gewand, / Und sie werden verschwinden.
But thou [art] the same, and thy years shall have no end.
28 Du aber bleibst immer derselbe, / Und deine Jahre werden nicht enden. Deiner Knechte Kinder werden in Ruhe wohnen, / Und ihre Nachkommen werden vor dir bestehn.
The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
