Luc 5
1 Or il arriva que lorsque la foule se précipitait sur lui pour entendre la parole de Dieu, il se tenait lui-même auprès du lac de Génésareth.
And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
2 Or il vit deux barques qui étaient sur le bord du lac, et les pêcheurs étaient descendus, et lavaient leurs filets.
And saw two boats standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 Montant dans une des barques qui était à Simon, il le pria de s’éloigner un peu de la terre. Or, s’étant assis, il enseignait le peuple de dessus la barque.
And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the boat.
4 Lorsqu’il eut cessé de parler, il dit à Simon: Avance en mer, et jetez vos filets pour pêcher.
Now when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 Mais Simon, répondant, lui dit: Maître, nous avons travaillé toute la nuit sans rien prendre; cependant, sur votre parole, je jetterai le filet.
And Simon answering said to him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 Et quand ils l’eurent fait, ils prirent une si grande quantité de poissons, que leur filet se rompait.
And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net broke.
7 Et ils firent signe à leurs compagnons qui étaient dans l’autre barque de venir les aider. Ils vinrent donc, et emplirent les deux barques, au point qu’elles étaient près de couler à fond.
And they beckoned to their partners, who were in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
8 Ce que voyant Simon Pierre, il tomba aux pieds de Jésus, disant: Retirez-vous de moi, Seigneur, parce que je suis un homme pécheur.
When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
9 Car il était plongé dans la stupeur, lui et tous ceux qui se trouvaient avec lui, à cause de la pêche des poissons qu’ils avaient faite;
For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
10 Et pareillement Jacques et Jean, fils de Zébédée, qui étaient compagnons de Simon. Et Jésus dit à Simon: Ne crains point: désormais ce sont des hommes que tu prendras.
And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11 Et, les barques ramenées à terre, ils laissèrent tout, et le suivirent.
And when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
12 Or, il arriva, comme il était dans une des villes, qu’un homme couvert de lèpre, voyant Jésus, se prosterna la face contre terre, et le pria, disant: Seigneur, si vous voulez, vous pouvez me guérir.
And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 Et étendant la main, il le toucha, disant: Je le veux, sois guéri. Et sur-le-champ sa lèpre le quitta.
And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
14 Jésus lui commanda de ne le dire à personne: Mais va, dit-il, montre-toi au prêtre, et offre pour ta guéri son ce que Moïse a ordonné en témoignage pour eux.
And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
15 Cependant sa renommée se répandait de plus en plus; des troupes nombreuses venaient pour l’écouter et pour être guéries de leurs maladies.
But so much the more a fame of him went abroad: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
16 Mais il se retirait au désert, et priait.
And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
17 Et il arriva qu’un de ces jours, il était assis, enseignant. Or des pharisiens et des docteurs de la loi, qui s’étaient rendus de tous les villages de la Galilée, de la Judée et de Jérusalem, étaient aussi assis; et la vertu du Seigneur opérait pour guérir les malades.
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
18 Et voilà que des gens portaient sur un lit un homme paralytique, et cherchaient à le faire entrer et à le poser devant lui.
And, behold, men brought in a bed a man who was sick with the palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
19 Mais ne trouvant point par où le faire entrer, à cause de la foule, ils montèrent sur le toit, et, par les tuiles, ils le descendirent avec le lit, au milieu de l’assemblée, devant Jésus;
And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
20 Qui, voyant leur foi, dit: Homme, tes péchés te sont remis.
And when he saw their faith, he said to him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
21 Alors les scribes et les pharisiens commencèrent à réfléchir, disant: Quel est celui-ci qui profère des blasphèmes? Qui peut remettre les péchés, sinon Dieu seul?
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this who speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
22 Mais dès que Jésus connut leurs pensées, il prit la parole et leur dit: Que pensez-vous en vos cœurs?
But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said to them, Why reason ye in your hearts?
23 Quel est le plus facile de dire: Tes péchés te sont remis; ou de dire: Lève-toi et marche?
Which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Rise and walk?
24 Or, afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l’homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de remettre les péchés, il dit au paralytique: C’est à toi que je parle; lève-toi, prends ton lit et va t’en en ta maison.
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority upon earth to forgive sins, (he said to the sick with the palsy, ) I say to thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thy house.
25 Et aussitôt, se levant devant eux, il prit le lit où il était couché, et s’en alla en sa maison, glorifiant Dieu.
And immediately he arose before them, and took up what he had been laying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
26 Et la stupeur les saisit tous, et ils glorifiaient Dieu. Et ils furent remplis de crainte, disant: Nous avons vu des merveilles aujourd’hui.
And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.
27 Après cela il sortit, et vit un publicain nommé Lévi, assis au bureau des impôts; et il lui dit: Suis-moi.
And after these things he went forth, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office: and he said to him, Follow me.
28 Et lui, ayant tout quitte, se leva et le suivit.
And he left all, rose up, and followed him.
29 Or Lévi lui fit un grand banquet dans sa maison; et il y avait une foule nombreuse de publicains et d’autres qui étaient à table avec eux.
And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of tax collectors and of others that sat down with them.
30 Et les pharisiens et les scribes en murmuraient et disaient à ses disciples: Pourquoi mangez-vous et buvez-vous avec les publicains et les pécheurs?
But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?
31 Jésus répondant, leur dit: Ce ne sont pas ceux qui se portent bien qui ont besoin de médecin, mais les malades.
And Jesus answering said to them, They that are well need not a physician; but they that are sick.
32 Je ne suis pas venu appeler les justes à la pénitence, mais les pécheurs.
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
33 Alors ils lui demandèrent: Pourquoi les disciples de Jean jeûnent-ils et prient-ils souvent, de même que ceux des pharisiens, et que les vôtres mangent et boivent?
And they said to him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?
34 Il leur répondit: Pouvez-vous faire jeûner les fils de l’époux, tandis que l’époux est avec eux?
And he said to them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35 Viendront des jours où l’époux leur sera enlevé; ils jeûneront en ces jours-là.
But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast in those days.
36 Il leur faisait aussi cette comparaison: Personne ne met une pièce d’un vêtement neuf à un vêtement vieux; autrement ce qui est neuf déchire le vieux, et la pièce du neuf ne convient pas au vieux.
And he spoke also a parable to them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if so, then both the new maketh a tear, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.
37 De même personne ne met du vin nouveau dans des outres vieilles; autrement le vin nouveau rompra les outres, et se répandra, et les outres seront perdues.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
38 Mais il faut mettre le vin nouveau dans des outres neuves; et l’un et l’autre sont conservés.
But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
39 Et personne venant de boire du vin vieux, n’en veut aussitôt du nouveau, parce qu’il dit: Le vieux est meilleur.
No man also having drunk old wine immediately desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
