Psaumes 38
1 Éternel, ne me châtie pas dans ta colère, et ne me punis pas dans ton courroux!
A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath; neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 Car tes flèches sont entrées en moi, et ta main s'est appesantie sur moi.
For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand cometh down upon me.
3 Il n'y a rien d'entier dans ma chair, à cause de ton courroux, ni aucun repos dans mes os, à cause de mon péché.
There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation; no peace in my bones, because of my sin.
4 Car mes iniquités vont par-dessus ma tête; elles sont comme un lourd fardeau, trop pesant pour moi.
For mine iniquities are gone over my head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 Mes plaies sont fétides, et elles coulent, à cause de ma folie.
My wounds stink, they are corrupt, because of my foolishness.
6 Je suis courbé, affaissé au dernier point; je marche en deuil tout le jour.
I am depressed; I am bowed down beyond measure; I go mourning all the day.
7 Car mes reins sont pleins d'inflammation; il n'y a rien d'entier dans ma chair.
For my loins are full of burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 Je suis affaibli et tout brisé; je rugis dans l'agitation de mon cœur.
I am faint and broken beyond measure; I roar by reason of the agitation of my heart.
9 Seigneur, tout mon désir est devant toi, et mon gémissement ne t'est point caché.
Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my sighing is not hid from thee.
10 Mon cœur palpite, ma force m'abandonne; et la lumière de mes yeux même, je ne l'ai plus.
My heart throbbeth, my strength hath left me; and the light of mine eyes, it also is no more with me.
11 Devant le coup qui me frappe, mes amis, mes compagnons s'arrêtent, et mes proches se tiennent loin.
My lovers and mine associates stand aloof from my stroke; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12 Ceux qui en veulent à ma vie me tendent des pièges; ceux qui cherchent mon mal parlent de ruine, et chaque jour ils méditent des tromperies.
And they that seek after my life lay snares [for me]; and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all the day long.
13 Mais moi, comme un sourd, je n'entends point; je suis comme un muet qui n'ouvre point la bouche.
But I, as a deaf [man], hear not; and am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
14 Oui, je suis comme un homme qui n'entend point, et qui n'a point de réplique en sa bouche.
Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 Car c'est à toi, Éternel, que je m'attends; tu répondras, Seigneur, mon Dieu!
For in thee, Jehovah, do I hope: thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.
16 Car j'ai dit: Qu'ils ne se réjouissent pas à mon sujet! Quand mon pied glisse, ils s'élèvent contre moi.
For I said, Let them not rejoice over me! When my foot slipped, they magnified [themselves] against me.
17 Et je suis prêt à tomber, et ma douleur est toujours devant moi.
For I am ready to halt, and my pain is continually before me.
18 Car je déclare mon iniquité; je suis dans la crainte à cause de mon péché.
For I will declare mine iniquity, I am grieved for my sin.
19 Cependant mes ennemis sont vivants et forts, et ceux qui me haïssent sans cause sont nombreux.
But mine enemies are lively, they are strong; and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied:
20 Et, me rendant le mal pour le bien, ils se font mes adversaires parce que je m'attache au bien.
And they that render evil for good are adversaries unto me; because I pursue what is good.
21 Ne m'abandonne point, ô Éternel! Mon Dieu, ne t'éloigne point de moi!
Forsake me not, Jehovah; O my God, be not far from me.
22 Hâte-toi, viens à mon aide, Seigneur, qui es ma délivrance!
Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.
