1 Pour le chef musicien. Un psaume de David. Que Yahvé te réponde au jour de la détresse. Que le nom du Dieu de Jacob te fasse monter au ciel,

For the chief musician. A psalm of David. May Yahweh help you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you

2 vous envoie de l'aide depuis le sanctuaire, vous accorde le soutien de Sion,

and send help from the holy place to support you from Zion.

3 se souviennent de toutes leurs offrandes, et accepte ton sacrifice brûlé. (Selah)

May he call to mind all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. (Selah)

4 Qu'il t'accorde le désir de ton cœur, et accomplir tous tes conseils.

May he grant you your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans.

5 Nous triompherons dans ton salut. Au nom de notre Dieu, nous allons dresser nos bannières. Que Yahvé exauce toutes vos demandes.

Then we will rejoice in your victory, and, in the name of our God, we will raise banners. May Yahweh grant all your petitions.

6 Je sais maintenant que Yahvé sauve ses oints. Il lui répondra du haut de son ciel sacré, avec la force salvatrice de sa main droite.

Now I know that Yahweh will rescue his anointed one; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the strength of his right hand that can rescue him.

7 Les uns se fient aux chars, les autres aux chevaux, mais nous avons confiance dans le nom de Yahvé notre Dieu.

Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we call on Yahweh our God.

8 Ils sont courbés et abattus, mais nous nous relevons, et nous nous tenons debout.

They will be brought down and fall, but we will rise and stand upright!

9 Sauve, Yahvé! Que le Roi nous réponde quand nous l'appelons!

Yahweh, rescue the king; help us when we call.
