Psaumes 138

1 Par David. Je te rendrai grâce de tout mon cœur. Devant les dieux, je chanterai tes louanges.

[A Psalm] of David. I will give thee thanks with my whole heart; before the gods will I sing psalms of thee.

2 Je me prosternerai devant ton temple saint, et rendre grâce à ton Nom pour ta bonté et ta vérité; car tu as exalté ton Nom et ta Parole au-dessus de tout.

I will bow down toward the temple of thy holiness, and celebrate thy name for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

3 Le jour où j'ai appelé, tu m'as répondu. Vous m'avez encouragé avec la force dans mon âme.

In the day when I called thou answeredst me; thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.

4 Tous les rois de la terre te rendront grâce, Yahvé, car ils ont entendu les paroles de ta bouche.

All the kings of the earth shall celebrate thee, Jehovah, when they have heard the words of thy mouth;

5 Oui, ils chanteront les voies de Yahvé, car la gloire de Yahvé est grande!

And they shall sing in the ways of Jehovah, for great is the glory of Jehovah.

6 Car si Yahvé est élevé, il prend soin des humbles; mais il connaît l'orgueilleux de loin.

For Jehovah is high; but he looketh upon the lowly, and the proud he knoweth afar off.

7 Quand je marche au milieu de la détresse, tu me fais revivre. Tu étendras ta main contre la colère de mes ennemis. Ta main droite me sauvera.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the anger of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

8 L'Éternel accomplira ce qui me concerne. Ta bonté, Yahvé, dure à jamais. N'abandonnez pas le travail de vos propres mains.

Jehovah will perfect what concerneth me: thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, [endureth] for ever; forsake not the works of thine own hands.
