Proverbes 7
1 Mon fils, garde mes paroles. Portez mes commandements en vous.
My sonne, keepe my wordes, and hide my commandements with thee.
2 Observez mes commandements et vivez! Garde mon enseignement comme la prunelle de tes yeux.
Keepe my commandements, and thou shalt liue, and mine instruction as the apple of thine eyes.
3 Liez-les sur vos doigts. Écris-les sur la tablette de ton cœur.
Binde them vpon thy fingers, and write them vpon the table of thine heart.
4 Dis à la sagesse: « Tu es ma sœur. » Appelez la compréhension de votre parent,
Say vnto wisedome, Thou art my sister: and call vnderstanding thy kinswoman,
5 afin qu'ils te préservent de la femme étrangère, de l'étrangère qui flatte avec ses mots.
That they may keepe thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger that is smoothe in her wordes.
6 Car à la fenêtre de ma maison, J'ai regardé à travers mon treillis.
As I was in the window of mine house, I looked through my windowe,
7 J'ai vu parmi les simples. J'ai discerné parmi les jeunes un jeune homme dépourvu d'intelligence,
And I sawe among the fooles, and considered among the children a yong man destitute of vnderstanding,
8 passant dans la rue près de son coin, il a pris le chemin de sa maison,
Who passed through the streete by her corner, and went toward her house,
9 au crépuscule, au soir du jour, au milieu de la nuit et dans l'obscurité.
In the twilight in the euening, when the night began to be blacke and darke.
10 Voici qu'une femme vint à sa rencontre, vêtue comme une prostituée, et avec une intention maligne.
And beholde, there met him a woman with an harlots behauiour, and subtill in heart.
11 Elle est bruyante et provocante. Ses pieds ne restent pas dans sa maison.
(She is babling and loud: whose feete can not abide in her house.
12 Maintenant elle est dans les rues, maintenant sur les places, et se cachant à chaque coin de rue.
Nowe she is without, nowe in the streetes, and lyeth in waite at euery corner)
13 Alors elle le saisit et l'embrassa. Avec un visage impudent, elle lui dit:
So she caught him and kissed him and with an impudent face said vnto him,
14 « Les sacrifices d'actions de grâces sont avec moi. Aujourd'hui, je me suis acquitté de mes vœux.
I haue peace offerings: this day haue I payed my vowes.
15 C'est pourquoi je suis sorti à ta rencontre, pour chercher assidûment ta face, et je t'ai trouvé.
Therefore came I forth to meete thee, that I might seeke thy face: and I haue found thee.
16 J'ai étendu ma couche avec des tapis de tapisserie, avec des tissus rayés de la laine d'Égypte.
I haue deckt my bed with ornaments, carpets and laces of Egypt.
17 J'ai parfumé mon lit avec de la myrrhe, de l'aloès et de la cannelle.
I haue perfumed my bedde with myrrhe, aloes, and cynamom.
18 Venez, prenons notre dose d'amour jusqu'au matin. Consolons-nous en aimant.
Come, let vs take our fill of loue vntill the morning: let vs take our pleasure in daliance.
19 Car mon mari n'est pas à la maison. Il est parti pour un long voyage.
For mine husband is not at home: he is gone a iourney farre off.
20 Il a pris avec lui un sac d'argent. Il reviendra à la maison à la pleine lune. »
He hath taken with him a bagge of siluer, and will come home at the day appointed.
21 Avec des paroles persuasives, elle l'a égaré. Avec la flatterie de ses lèvres, elle l'a séduit.
Thus with her great craft she caused him to yeelde, and with her flattering lips she entised him.
22 Il la suivit immédiatement, comme un bœuf va à l'abattoir, comme un idiot qui se prend les pieds dans un nœud coulant.
And he followed her straight wayes, as an oxe that goeth to the slaughter, and as a foole to the stockes for correction,
23 Jusqu'à ce qu'une flèche lui transperce le foie, comme un oiseau qui se précipite vers le piège, et ne sait pas que ça va lui coûter la vie.
Till a dart strike through his liuer, as a bird hasteth to the snare, not knowing that he is in danger.
24 Maintenant donc, mes fils, écoutez-moi. Faites attention aux mots de ma bouche.
Heare me now therefore, O children, and hearken to the wordes of my mouth.
25 Ne laisse pas ton cœur se tourner vers ses voies. Ne vous égarez pas dans ses sentiers,
Let not thine heart decline to her wayes: wander thou not in her paths.
26 car elle a jeté de nombreux blessés. Oui, tous ses morts sont une puissante armée.
For shee hath caused many to fall downe wounded, and the strong men are all slaine by her.
