Psalmien 146

1 Halleluja! Kiitä Herraa, minun sieluni.

Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah, O my soul.

2 Minä kiitän Herraa niinkauvan kuin minä elän, ja Jumalalleni kiitoksen veisaan, niinkauvan kuin minä täällä olen.

As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.

3 Älkäät uskaltako päämiehiin; ihmiset he ovat, ei he voi mitään auttaa.

Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

4 Sillä ihmisen henki pitää erkaneman, ja hänen täytyy maaksi tulla jälleen: silloin ovat kaikki hänen aivoituksensa hukassa.

His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.

5 Autuas on se, jonka apu Jakobin Jumala on, jonka toivo Herrassa hänen Jumalassansa on;

Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,

6 Joka taivaan ja maan, meren ja kaikki, jotka niissä ovat, tehnyt on, joka totuuden pitää ijankaikkisesti;

Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

7 Joka oikeuden saattaa niille, jotka väkivaltaa kärsivät, joka isoovaiset ravitsee. Herra kirvottaa vangitut:

Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;

8 Herra avaa sokian silmät: Herra nostaa kukistetut: Herra rakastaa vanhurskaita.

Jehovah openeth [the eyes of] the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;

9 Herra varjelee vieraat, ja holhoo orpoja ja leskiä, ja jumalattomain tien hajoittaa.

Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.

10 Herra on kuningas ijankaikkisesti, sinun Jumalas, Zion, suvusta sukuun, Halleluja!

Jehovah will reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
