< Psalmowo 56 >
Kpɔ nye nublanui, O! Mawu, elabena amegbetɔwo ti yonyeme kple ŋkubiã; ŋkeke blibo la wole yonyeme kutɔkutɔe.
[For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Silent Dove in Distant Lands." A poem by David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.] Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.
2 Ame siwo le ŋunye gblẽm la ti yonyeme ŋkeke blibo la, eye wo dometɔ geɖewo tso ɖe ŋunye kple dada.
My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me.
3 Maka ɖe dziwò ne vɔvɔ̃ ɖom.
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
4 Wò Mawu si ƒe nya mekafu, Mawu si dzi meka ɖo; nyemavɔ̃ akpɔ o. Nu ka amegbetɔ, ŋutilã kple ʋu, awɔm ma?
In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
5 Ŋkeke blibo la wotrɔa gbo nye nyawo, ɣe sia ɣi wole nugbe ɖom be woawɔ nuvevim.
All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 Woɖo babla, wole ŋu tsam, hele ŋku lém ɖe nye afɔɖeɖewo ŋu, eye wotsi dzi ɖe nye agbetsɔtsrɔ̃ ŋuti.
They conspire and lurk, watching my steps, they are eager to take my life.
7 Ɖe woƒe vɔ̃ɖinyenye ta la, megana mɔ woasi o; O! Mawu, he dukɔwo ƒu anyi le wò dɔmedzoe me.
Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, God.
8 Ŋlɔ nye konyifafa da ɖi; lé nye aɖatsiwo ɖe agbalẽ dzi; ɖe womele wò nyaŋlɔɖiwo me xoxo oa?
You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book?
9 Ekema nye futɔwo atrɔ adzo, ne meyɔ wò be nàxɔ nam. To esia me la, manya be Mawu nye tɔnye.
Then my enemies shall turn back in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.
10 Mawu, ame si ƒe nya mekafu, Yehowa ame si ƒe nya mekafu.
In God, I will praise his word. In the LORD, I will praise his word.
11 Mawu, ame si dzi meka ɖo; nyemavɔ̃ o. Nu ka amegbetɔ ate ŋu awɔm?
I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
12 O! Mawu, meɖe adzɔgbe na wò, eya ta maxe adzɔgbeɖefe na wò.
Your vows are on me, God. I will give thank offerings to you.
13 Elabena èɖem tso ku me, eye nèna be nye afɔwo hã magaɖiɖi o, ne mate ŋu azɔ le Mawu ŋkume le agbagbeawo ƒe anyigba dzi.
For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
