< Proverbs 5 >

1 My son! to my wisdom give attention, To mine understanding incline thine ear,
Kachapa, kachihna hi khohsah inlang ka thumop hi phaten ngaijin. Kathil hetkhen theina hi phatea nakol sunga nangai ding ahi.
2 To observe thoughtfulness, And knowledge do thy lips keep.
Ajeh chu thil hetkhen theina neijin natin, nakam sung jenga jong hetthemna um jing ding ahi.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And smoother than oil [is] her mouth,
Numei jong ho lei-chu khoiju lhumma lhum ding, athusei chan-u thao kinu sanga jolji ahi.
4 And her latter end [is] bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a sword [with] mouths.
Hinlah achaina chu guu-banga kha jia, chule hemto chemjam banga hemji ahi.
5 Her feet are going down to death, Sheol do her steps take hold of. (Sheol h7585)
Akeng tenin thina'a apui lutjia, noimi gam chan'a chelut ding ahi. (Sheol h7585)
6 The path of life — lest thou ponder, Moved have her paths — thou knowest not.
Hitobang numei hin hinna lampi anahsah jipon, achena tincheng anoh phah jin, amanun-la akihet doh jipon ahi.
7 And now, ye sons, hearken to me, And turn not from sayings of my mouth.
Hijeh chun tun kachapa teho kasei ngaijun, kahilna thuchang hoakon hin jammang ding go hih beh un.
8 Keep far from off her thy way, And come not near unto the opening of her house,
Hiche numeinua kon khun kidalseu vin, akotpi phung lam'a jong chenai ding go hih beh un.
9 Lest thou give to others thy honour, And thy years to the fierce,
Hitia chu nabol lou ule, mihoa kon jabolna nachan lou ding, nahin kho sunga min nakhoto thei lou ding ahi.
10 Lest strangers be filled [with] thy power, And thy labours in the house of a stranger,
Hetkhah lou mihon nahatna le nahaona aboncha a-luo diu, natohga jouse jong michom beh in a-luo ding ahi.
11 And thou hast howled in thy latter end, In the consumption of thy flesh and thy food,
Na hinkho ajona lam teng gim hesoh nato ding, natahsa pumpi manthahna aso diu ahi.
12 And hast said, 'How have I hated instruction, And reproof hath my heart despised,
Chuteng nangin seijin natin, “Kigah chahna hi ichan-a kana thet a, phosalna hi iti kana thet hitam?
13 And I have not hearkened to the voice of my directors, And to my teachers have not inclined mine ear.
Keiman eihil ho thu kana donse pon, ka dinga thusei ho jeng jong kana donse tapoi.
14 As a little thing I have been all evil, In the midst of an assembly and a company.
Tuhin mipi kikhopna'a kon keima mah thahna mun kalhun kon ahitai, tia nasei ding ahi.”
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, Even flowing ones out of thine own well.
Nangma twikhuh'a kon hung potdoh twi chu kidon jeng tan.
16 Let thy fountains be scattered abroad, In broad places rivulets of waters.
Na twikhuh dunga twi put chu muntin'a hetdoh-a um'a chule kholai tinchanga um mong ding hinam?
17 Let them be to thee for thyself, And not to strangers with thee.
Hichu nanga ding bouvin koiyin, nakom'a hung maljin vang nachan sah lou ding ahi.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed, And rejoice because of the wife of thy youth,
Na twikhuh chu phatthei chang tahen, nangma tah jong nasenji chunga kipah tan.
19 A hind of loves, and a roe of grace! Let her loves satisfy thee at all times, In her love magnify thyself continually.
Na deitah na jinu sajuh golpai hoitah le sajuh chal hoitah bang in, phat tin in aman nahebolna nachunga lhung jing hen, amanu anglum jal'a kipah jing nahin, aman natuh chah jing hi nalungset phot chetna ahi.
20 And why dost thou magnify thyself, My son, with a stranger? And embrace the bosom of a strange woman?
Kachapa, i-atileh numei chon chavei chu naki ngaipi jing a, hitobang numei kampao phalou chu a-anglum'a um ding nagot jing ham?
21 For over-against the eyes of Jehovah are the ways of each, And all his paths He is pondering.
Ajeh chu Yahweh Pakai hi mihem lam lhah jouse ve-jing ahin, alam lhah na jouse avet-jing ahi.
22 His own iniquities do capture the wicked, And with the ropes of his sin he is holden.
Miphalou chu a chondih lounan akipalsah teijin, a chonsetna chun atuh chahji ahitai.
23 He dieth without instruction, And in the abundance of his folly magnifieth himself!
Ama chu kigah chana beija thina chang ding, a ngol-ga chun manthahna asoji ahi.
