Romans 2
1 Wherfor thou art vnexcusable, ech man that demest, for in what thing thou demest anothir man, thou condempnest thi silf; for thou doist the same thingis whiche thou demest.
੧ਸੋ ਹੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਤੂੰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਦੂਜੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
2 And we witen, that the doom of God is aftir treuthe ayens hem, that don siche thingis.
੨ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ।
3 But gessist thou, man, that demest hem that doen siche thingis, and thou doist tho thingis, that thou schalt ascape the doom of God?
੩ਫੇਰ ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਭਲਾ, ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਿੱਕਲੇਗਾ?
4 Whether `dispisist thou the richessis of his goodnesse, and the pacience, and the long abidyng? Knowist thou not, that the benygnyte of God ledith thee to forthenkyng?
੪ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਰ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਛਤਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਪਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
5 But aftir thin hardnesse and vnrepentaunt herte, thou tresorist to thee wraththe in the dai of wraththe and of schewyng of the riytful doom of God,
੫ਸਗੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਠੋਰਤਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਛਤਾਵੇ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਲਈ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਮਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
6 that schal yelde to ech man aftir his werkis;
੬ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਫਲ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
7 sotheli to hem that ben bi pacience of good werk, glorie, and onour, and vncorrupcioun, to hem that seken euerlastynge lijf; (aiōnios g166)
੭ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭਲੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਹਿਮਾ, ਆਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। (aiōnios g166)
8 but to hem that ben of strijf, and that assenten not to treuthe, but bileuen to wickidnesse, wraththe and indignacioun, tribulacioun and angwisch,
੮ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਿਦ੍ਰੋਹੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਝੂਠ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
9 in to ech soule of man that worchith yuel, to the Jew first, and to the Greke;
੯ਬਿਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਉੱਤੇ।
10 but glorie, and honour, and pees, to ech man that worchith good thing, to the Jew first, and to the Greke.
੧੦ਪਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਹਿਮਾ, ਆਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ।
11 For accepcioun of persones is not anentis God.
੧੧ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਖਪਾਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
12 For who euere han synned without the lawe, schulen perische withouten the lawe; and who euere han synned in the lawe, thei schulen be demyd bi the lawe.
੧੨ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿੰਨਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਸੋ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਵੀ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਸੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
13 For the hereris of lawe ben not iust anentis God, but the doeris of the lawe schulen be maad iust.
੧੩ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਪਰ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
14 For whanne hethene men that han not lawe, don kyndli tho thingis that ben of the lawe, thei not hauynge suche manere lawe, ben lawe to hem silf,
੧੪ਜਦ ਕਿ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਭਾਓ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਹਨ।
15 that schewen the werk of the lawe writun in her hertis. For the conscience of hem yeldith to hem a witnessyng bytwixe hem silf of thouytis that ben accusynge or defendynge,
੧੫ਸੋ ਉਹ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦੀਆ ਹਨ, ਨਾਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪੋ ਵਿੱਚੀ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
16 in the dai whanne God schal deme the priuy thingis of men aftir my gospel, bi Jhesu Crist.
੧੬ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁਪਤ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
17 But if thou art named a Jew, and restist in the lawe, and hast glorie in God,
੧੭ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਸਰਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਮੰਡ ਕਰਦਾ
18 and hast knowe his wille, and thou lerud bi lawe preuest the more profitable thingis,
੧੮ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ-ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
19 and tristist thi silf to be a ledere of blynde men, the liyt of hem that ben in derknessis,
੧੯ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹਾਂ
20 a techere of vnwise men, a maistir of yonge children, that hast the foorme of kunnyng and of treuthe in the lawe;
੨੦ਅਤੇ ਨਦਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
21 what thanne techist thou another, and techist not thi silf? Thou that prechist that me schal not stele, stelist?
੨੧ਤਾਂ ਫੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਕੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ? ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਚੋਰੀ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਕਿਉਂ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
22 Thou that techist that me schal `do no letcherie, doist letcherie? Thou that wlatist maumetis, doist sacrilegie?
੨੨ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ, ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੈਕਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
23 Thou that hast glorie in the lawe, vnworschipist God bi brekyng of the lawe?
੨੩ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਮੰਡ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
24 For the name of God is blasfemed bi you among hethene men, as is writun.
੨੪ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
25 For circumcisioun profitith, if thou kepe the lawe; but if thou be a trespassour ayens the lawe, thi circumsicioun is maad prepucie.
੨੫ਸੁੰਨਤ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੇਂ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ।
26 Therfor if prepucie kepe the riytwisnessis of the lawe, whethir his prepucie schal not be arettid in to circumcisioun?
੨੬ਉਪਰੰਤ ਜੇ ਅਸੁੰਨਤੀ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰਨ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਸੁੰਨਤ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਨਾ ਗਿਣੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
27 And the prepucie of kynde that fulfillith the lawe, schal deme thee, that bi lettre and circumcisioun art trespassour ayens the lawe.
੨੭ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੁਭਾਓ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੁੰਨਤੀ ਹਨ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਣਗੇ?
28 For he that is in opene is not a Jew, nether it is circumsicioun that is openli in the fleisch;
੨੮ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਲੋਕ ਦਿਖਾਵੇ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਉਹ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮਾਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
29 but he that is a Jew in hid, and the circumcisioun of herte, in spirit, not bi the lettre, whos preisyng is not of men, but of God.
੨੯ਸਗੋਂ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਉਹੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਉਹੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਆਤਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ, ਨਾ ਲਿਖਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
