John 7
1 After these things Jesus resided in Galilee: for He would not appear in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.
১এই সবের পরে যীশু গালীলের মধ্যে ঘোরাফেরা করতে লাগলেন, কারণ ইহূদিরা তাঁকে মেরে ফেলবার চেষ্টা করেছিল বলে তিনি যিহূদিয়াতে যেতে চাইলেন না।
2 Now the Jews feast called the feast of tabernacles was near;
২তখন ইহূদিদের কুটিরবাস পর্বের দিন প্রায় এসে গিয়েছিল।
3 his brethren therefore said, Depart from hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples there also may see the works which thou performest.
৩অতএব তাঁর ভাইয়েরা তাঁকে বলল, এই জায়গা ছেড়ে যিহূদিয়াতে চলে যাও; যেন তুমি যে সব কাজ করছ তা তোমার শিষ্যেরাও দেখতে পায়।
4 For no man doth any thing in secret, who is himself desirous to be known in public. As thou dost these wonderful things, make thyself known to the world.
৪কেউ গোপনে কাজ করে না যদি সে নিজেকে অপরের কাছে খোলাখুলি জানাতে চায়। যদি তুমি এই সব কাজ কর তবে নিজেকে জগতের মানুষের কাছে দেখাও।
5 For neither did his brethren believe in Him.
৫কারণ এমনকি তাঁর ভাইয়েরাও তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করত না।
6 Then saith Jesus unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always alike ready; for the world cannot hate you:
৬তখন যীশু তাদের বললেন, আমার দিন এখনও আসেনি, কিন্তু তোমাদের দিন সবদিন প্রস্তুত।
7 but me it hates, because I bear my testimony concerning it, that it's deeds are evil.
৭পৃথিবীর মানুষ তোমাদেরকে ঘৃণা করতে পারে না কিন্তু আমাকে ঘৃণা করে কারণ আমি তার সম্বন্ধে এই সাক্ষ্য দিই যে তার সব কাজ অসৎ।
8 Go ye up to this feast as soon as ye please; for I am not yet going up to it, because my time is not yet fully come.
৮তোমরাই তো উত্সবে যাও; আমি এখন এই উত্সবে যাব না, কারণ আমার দিন এখনও সম্পূর্ণ হয়নি।
9 And after He had said these things unto them, He stayed a while in Galilee.
৯তাদেরকে এই কথা বলার পর তিনি গালীলে থাকলেন।
10 But when his brethren were gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not in a public manner but as it were in private.
১০যদিও তাঁর ভাইয়েরা উত্সবে যাবার পর তিনিও গেলেন, খোলাখুলি ভাবে নয় কিন্তু গোপনে গেলেন।
11 The Jews therefore sought for Him at the feast, and said, Where is He?
১১ইহূদিরা উত্সবের মধ্যে তাঁর খোঁজ করল এবং বলল, তিনি কোথায়?
12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning Him: for some said, He is a good man; others said, No: He deceiveth the people.
১২ভিড়ের মধ্যে মানুষেরা তাঁর সম্পর্কে অনেক আলোচনা করতে লাগলো। অনেকে বলল, তিনি একজন ভাল লোক; আবার কেউ বলল, না, তিনি মানুষদেরকে বিপথে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
13 No one however spake openly in favor of Him, for fear of the Jews.
১৩কিন্তু ইহূদিদের ভয়ে কেউ তাঁর সম্পর্কে খোলাখুলি কিছু বলল না।
14 But when it was now about the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
১৪যখন উত্সবের অর্ধেক দিন পার হয়ে গেল তখন যীশু উপাসনা ঘরে গিয়ে শিক্ষা দিতে লাগলেন।
15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, who never learnt?
১৫ইহূদিরা আশ্চর্য্য হয়ে গেল এবং বলতে লাগলো, এই মানুষটি শিক্ষা না নিয়ে কিভাবে এই রকম শাস্ত্র জ্ঞানী হয়ে উঠল?
16 Jesus answered them and said, The doctrine that I teach is not mine, but his that sent me.
১৬যীশু তাদেরকে উত্তর দিয়ে বললেন, আমার শিক্ষা আমার নয় কিন্তু তাঁর যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।
17 If any man desire to do his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
১৭যদি কেউ তাঁর ইচ্ছা পালন করবে মনে করে, সে এই শিক্ষার বিষয় জানতে পারবে, এই সকল ঈশ্বর থেকে এসেছে কিনা, না আমি নিজের থেকে বলি।
18 He, that speaketh from himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of Him that sent him is true, and there is no imposture in him.
১৮যারা নিজের থেকে বলে তারা নিজেদেরই গৌরব খোঁজ করে কিন্তু যারা তাঁর সম্মান খোঁজ করে যিনি তাদের পাঠিয়েছেন তিনিই সত্য এবং তাঁতে কোন অধর্ম্ম নেই।
19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you observeth the law? wherefore else do ye seek to kill me?
১৯মোশি কি তোমাদেরকে কোনো নিয়ম কানুন দেননি? যদিও তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউই এখনো সেই নিয়ম পালন করে না। কেন তোমরা আমাকে মেরে ফেলার চেষ্টা করছ?
20 The people answered and said, Thou art possessed by a demon: who seeketh to kill thee?
২০সেই মানুষের দল উত্তর দিল, তোমাকে ভূতে ধরেছে, কে তোমাকে মেরে ফেলার চেষ্টা করছে?
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I performed one miracle on the sabbath, and ye are all amazed at it.
২১যীশু উত্তর দিয়ে তাদেরকে বললেন, আমি একটা কাজ করেছি, আর সেজন্য তোমরা সকলে আশ্চর্য্য হচ্ছ।
22 Now Moses gave you the law of circumcision, (not that it is originally from Moses, but from the patriarchs, ) and ye circumcise even on the sabbath:
২২মোশি তোমাদেরকে ত্বকছেদ করার নিয়ম দিয়েছেন, তা যে মোশি থেকে নয় কিন্তু পূর্বপুরুষদের থেকে হয়েছে এবং তোমরা বিশ্রামবারে শিশুদের ত্বকছেদ করে থাক।
23 if then a man receive circumcision on the sabbath-day, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are ye angry with me, because I made a man perfectly well on the sabbath-day?
২৩মোশির নিয়ম যেন না ভাঙে সেইজন্য যদি বিশ্রামবারে মানুষের ত্বকছেদ করা হয়, তবে আমি বিশ্রামবারে একজন মানুষকে সম্পূর্ণভাবে সুস্থ করেছি বলে আমার উপরে কেন রাগ করছ?
24 Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgement.
২৪বাইরের চেহারা দেখে বিচার করো না কিন্তু ন্যায়ভাবে বিচার কর।
25 Therefore some of those of Jerusalem said, Is not this He whom they seek to put to death?
২৫যিরূশালেম বসবাসকারীদের মধ্যে থেকে কয়েক জন বলল, এই কি সে নয় যাকে তারা মেরে ফেলার চেষ্টা করছিল?
26 and here He talketh openly, and they say nothing to Him: Do the rulers indeed know, that this is in truth the Messiah?
২৬আর দেখ, সে তো খোলাখুলি ভাবে কথা বলছে আর তারা ওনাকে কিছুই বলছে না। কারণ এটা হতে পারে না যে শাসকেরা জানত যে ইনিই সেই খ্রীষ্ট, তাই নয় কি?
27 But we know whence this man is; whereas when Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence He is.
২৭কিন্তু আমরা জানি এই মানুষটি কোথা থেকে এলো; কিন্তু খ্রীষ্ট যখন আসেন তখন তিনি কোথা থেকে আসেন তা কেউ জানে না।
28 Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, ye say, and ye know whence I am: now I am not come of myself, but He that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
২৮যীশু মন্দিরে খুব চিত্কার করে উপদেশ দিলেন এবং বললেন, তোমরা আমাকে চেন এবং আমি কোথা থেকে এসেছি তাও জান। আমি নিজে থেকে আসিনি কিন্তু আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তিনি সত্য যাকে তোমরা চেন না।
29 But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He hath sent me.
২৯আমি তাঁকে জানি কারণ আমি তাঁর কাছ থেকে এসেছি এবং তিনিই আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।
30 They sought therefore to seize Him, but no one laid hand on Him, because his hour was not yet come.
৩০তারা তাঁকে ধরার জন্য চেষ্টা করছিল কিন্তু কেউ তাঁর গায়ে হাত দিল না কারণ তখনও তাঁর সেই দিন আসেনি।
31 And many of the people believed on Him, and said, When the Messiah cometh, will He do more miracles than this man hath done?
৩১যদিও মানুষের দলের মধ্যে থেকে অনেকে তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করল এবং বলল, খ্রীষ্ট যখন আসবেন তখন এই মানুষটির করা কাজ থেকে কি তিনি বেশি আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করবেন?
32 Now the pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning Him: and they, with the chief priests, sent officers to seize Him.
৩২ফরীশীরা তাঁর সম্পর্কে জনগনের মধ্যে এই সব কথা ফিসফিস করে বলতে শুনল এবং প্রধান যাজকেরা ও ফরীশীরা তাঁকে ধরে আনবার জন্য কয়েক জন আধিকারিককে পাঠিয়ে দিল।
33 Therefore Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while I am to be among you, and then I shall go to Him that sent me.
৩৩তখন যীশু বললেন, আমি এখন অল্প দিনের জন্য তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছি এবং তারপর যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তাঁর কাছে চলে যাব।
34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am to be, ye cannot come.
৩৪তোমরা আমাকে খোঁজ করবে কিন্তু আমাকে পাবে না; আমি যেখানে যাব সেখানে তোমরা আসতে পারবে না।
35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will He go, that we shall not find Him? will He go to them that are dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
৩৫তখন ইহূদিরা একে অপরকে বলতে লাগল, এই মানুষটি কোথায় যাবে যে আমরা তাকে খুঁজে পাব না? তিনি কি গ্রীকদের মধ্যে ছিন্নভিন্ন ইহূদি মানুষের কাছে যাবে এবং সেই সকল মানুষদের শিক্ষা দেবেন?
36 What is the meaning of this speech, that He said, "Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am to be, ye cannot come?"
৩৬তিনি যে কথা বললেন, “আমার খোঁজ করবে কিন্তু আমাকে পাবে না এবং আমি যেখানে যাই সেখানে তোমরা আসতে পারবে না” এটা কি কথা?
37 And on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If any one thirst, let him come unto me and drink.
৩৭এখন শেষ দিন, উত্সবের মহান দিন, যীশু দাঁড়িয়ে চিত্কার করে বললেন, কারুর যদি পিপাসা পায় তবে আমার কাছে এসে পান করুক।
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, rivers of living water shall flow from within him.
৩৮যে কেউ আমাতে বিশ্বাস করে, যেমন শাস্ত্রে বলা আছে, তার হৃদয়ের মধ্য থেকে জীবন জলের নদী বইবে।
39 (This He spake of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive; for the holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)
৩৯কিন্তু তিনি পবিত্র আত্মার সমন্ধে এই কথা বললেন, যারা তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করত তারা সেই আত্মাকে পাবে, তখনও সেই আত্মা দেওয়া হয়নি কারণ সেই দিন পর্যন্ত যীশুকে মহিমান্বিত করা হয়নি।
40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this discourse, said, This is in truth a prophet.
৪০যখন জনগনের মধ্য থেকে অনেকে এই কথা শুনল তখন তারা বলল ইনি সত্যিই সেই ভাববাদী।
41 Others said, This is the Messiah. But some said, Shall the Messiah come out of Galilee?
৪১অনেকে বলল, ইনি হলেন সেই খ্রীষ্ট। কিন্তু কেউ কেউ বলল, কেন? খ্রীষ্ট কি গালীল থেকে আসবেন?
42 Hath not the Scripture said, that Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town whence David was.
৪২শাস্ত্রের বাক্যে কি বলে নি, খ্রীষ্ট দায়ূদের বংশ থেকে এবং দায়ূদ যেখানে ছিলেন সেই বৈৎলেহম গ্রাম থেকে আসবেন?
43 So there was a division among the people about Him.
৪৩এই ভাবে জনগনের মধ্যে যীশুর বিষয় নিয়ে মতভেদ হলো।
44 And some among them would have seized Him: but no one laid hands on Him.
৪৪তাদের মধ্যে কিছু লোক তাঁকে ধরবে বলে ঠিক করলো কিন্তু তার গায়ে কেউই হাত দিল না।
45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and pharisees, and they said, Why have ye not brought Him? and the officers answered,
৪৫তখন আধিকারিকরা প্রধান যাজকদের ও ফরীশীদের কাছে ফিরে আসলে তাঁরা তাদের বললেন তাকে নিয়ে আসনি কেন?
46 Never man spake like this man.
৪৬আধিকারিকরা উত্তর দিয়ে বলল, এই মানুষটি যেভাবে কথা বলেন অন্য কোন মানুষ কখনও এই রকম কথা বলেননি।
47 The pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also deceived?
৪৭ফরীশীরা তাদেরকে উত্তর দিল, তোমরাও কি বিপথে চালিত হলে?
48 have any of the rulers believed on Him, or of the pharisees?
৪৮কোনো শাসকেরা অথবা কোনো ফরীশী কি তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করেছেন?
49 but these people, who know not the law, are cursed.
৪৯কিন্তু এই যে মানুষের দল কোনো নিয়ম জানে না এরা অভিশাপ গ্রস্থ।
50 Upon this Nicodemus, (who came to Him by night)
৫০নীকদীম ফরীশীদের মধ্যে একজন, যিনি আগে যীশুর কাছে এসেছিলেন, তিনি তাদেরকে বললেন,
51 being one of them, saith to them, Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he hath done?
৫১আগে কোনো মানুষের তার নিজের কথা না শুনে এবং সে কি করে তা না জেনে, আমাদের আইন কানুন কি কাহারও বিচার করে?
52 They replied, Art thou also of Galilee? Search and see: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
৫২তারা উত্তর দিয়ে তাঁকে বলল, তুমিও কি গালীল থেকে এসেছ? খোঁজ নিয়ে দেখ গালীল থেকে কোন ভাববাদী আসে না।
53 And every man went to his own house.
৫৩তখন প্রত্যেকে তাদের নিজের বাড়িতে চলে গেলেন।
