< Psalms 74 >
1 A contemplation by Asaph. God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smoulder against the sheep of your pasture?
Asaf dwom. Ao, Onyankopɔn, adɛn nti na woapo yɛn koraa yi? Adɛn nti na wʼabufuw hyew wʼadidibea nguan?
2 Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance: Mount Zion, in which you have lived.
Kae nkurɔfo a wotɔɔ wɔn teteete no, abusua a ɛyɛ wʼagyapade a wugyee wɔn no, Bepɔw Sion, faako a wote hɔ.
3 Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, all the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.
Dan wʼanammɔntu kyerɛ saa nnwiriwii a ɛto ntwa da yi, ɔtamfo no de saa ɔsɛe yi nyinaa aba wo kronkronbea no so.
4 Your adversaries have roared in the middle of your assembly. They have set up their standards as signs.
Wʼatamfo bobɔɔ mu wɔ faako a wuhyiaa yɛn no; wɔasisi wɔn mfrankaa sɛ agyiraehyɛde wɔ hɔ.
5 They behaved like men wielding axes, cutting through a thicket of trees.
Wɔyɛɛ wɔn sɛ nnipa a wɔrehwim mmonnua de abubu nnua a ayɛ nkyɛkyerɛ.
6 Now they break all its carved work down with hatchet and hammers.
Wɔde wɔn mmonnua ne nname bubuu nnua a wɔasen adi ho adwinni no.
7 They have burnt your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling place of your Name.
Wɔhyew wo kronkronbea no dwerɛbee; woguu faako a wo Din te no ho fi.
8 They said in their heart, “We will crush them completely.” They have burnt up all the places in the land where God was worshipped.
Wɔkaa wɔ wɔn koma mu se, “Yebetiatia wɔn so ayɛ wɔn pasaa!” Wɔhyew baabiara a wɔsom Onyankopɔn wɔ asase no so.
9 We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, neither is there amongst us anyone who knows how long.
Wɔmmaa yɛn nsɛnkyerɛnne a ɛyɛ nwonwa biara; adiyifo no asa, na yɛn mu biara nnim nna dodow a ebedi.
10 How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?
Onyankopɔn, wʼatamfo bɛserew wo akosi da bɛn? Wɔn a wokyi wo no begu wo din ho fi daa ana?
11 Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it from your chest and consume them!
Adɛn nti na woatwe wo nsa, wo nsa nifa no? Yi fi wʼatade mmobɔwee no mu na sɛe wɔn.
12 Yet God is my King of old, working salvation throughout the earth.
Nanso Onyankopɔn yɛ me hene fi tete; wode nkwagye ba asase so.
13 You divided the sea by your strength. You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
Ɛyɛ wo na wode wo tumi paee po mu no; wopɛtɛw nsu mu ɔwɔ no ti.
14 You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces. You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.
Wopɛtɛw Lewiatan no ti na wode no maa sare so abɔde sɛ wɔn aduan.
15 You opened up spring and stream. You dried up mighty rivers.
Wo na womaa nsuwa ne nsuti tuei; na womaa nsubɔnten a ɛsen yoyowee.
16 The day is yours, the night is also yours. You have prepared the light and the sun.
Adekyee wɔ wo na adesae nso yɛ wo dea; wode owia ne ɔsram sisii hɔ.
17 You have set all the boundaries of the earth. You have made summer and winter.
Ɛyɛ wo na wototoo asase so ahye nyinaa; wobɔɔ ahohuru ne awɔw mmere.
18 Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, LORD. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.
Awurade, kae sɛnea ɔtamfo no aserew wo, sɛnea nkwaseafo agu wo din ho fi.
19 Don’t deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts. Don’t forget the life of your poor forever.
Mmfa wʼaborɔnoma nkwa mma nkekaboa; mma wo werɛ mfi wo nkurɔfo a wɔrehu amane no nkwa afebɔɔ.
20 Honour your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the earth.
Ma wʼapam no ho nhia wo, efisɛ akakabensɛm ahyɛ asase no so sum mu ma.
21 Don’t let the oppressed return ashamed. Let the poor and needy praise your name.
Mma wɔn a wɔhyɛ wɔn so no mmfa animguase nsan; ma ahiafo ne mmɔborɔfo nkamfo wo din.
22 Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.
Ao, Onyankopɔn, ma wo ho so na ka wo ara wʼasɛm; kae sɛnea nkwaseafo serew wo da mu nyinaa.
23 Don’t forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.
Mmu wʼani ngu wɔn a wɔsɔre tia wo no nteɛteɛmu so, wʼatamfo gyegyeegyeyɛ a ɛkɔ soro daa no.
