Luke 10
1 After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them before Him, by twos, to go to every town or place which He Himself intended to visit.
അനന്തരം കൎത്താവു വേറെ എഴുപതു പേരെ നിയമിച്ചു, താൻ ചെല്ലുവാനുള്ള ഓരോ പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കും സ്ഥലത്തിലേക്കും അവരെ തനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ഈരണ്ടായി അയച്ചു,
2 And He addressed them thus: "The harvest is abundant, but the reapers are few: therefore entreat the Owner of the harvest to send out more reapers into His fields. And now go.
അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: കൊയ്ത്തു വളരെ ഉണ്ടു സത്യം; വേലക്കാരോ ചുരുക്കം; ആകയാൽ കൊയ്ത്തിന്റെ യജമാനനോടു തന്റെ കൊയ്ത്തിന്നു വേലക്കാരെ അയക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അപേക്ഷിപ്പിൻ.
3 Remember that I am sending you out as lambs into the midst of wolves.
പോകുവിൻ; ചെന്നായ്ക്കളുടെ നടുവിൽ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അയക്കുന്നു.
4 Carry no purse, bag, nor change of shoes; and salute no one on your way."
സഞ്ചിയും പൊക്കണവും ചെരിപ്പും എടുക്കരുതു; വഴിയിൽ വെച്ചു ആരെയും വന്ദനം ചെയ്കയുമരുതു;
5 "Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house!'
ഏതു വീട്ടിൽ എങ്കിലും ചെന്നാൽ: ഈ വീട്ടിന്നു സമാധാനം എന്നു ആദ്യം പറവിൻ
6 And if there is a lover of peace there, your peace shall rest upon it; otherwise come back upon you.
അവിടെ ഒരു സമാധാനപുത്രൻ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ സമാധാനം അവന്മേൽ വസിക്കും; ഇല്ലെന്നുവരികിലോ നിങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോരും.
7 And in that same house stay, eating and drinking at their table; for the labourer deserves his wages. Do not move from one house to another.
അവർ തരുന്നതു തിന്നും കുടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ആ വീട്ടിൽ തന്നേ പാൎപ്പിൻ; വേലക്കാരൻ തന്റെ കൂലിക്കു യോഗ്യനല്ലോ; വീട്ടിൽനിന്നു വീട്ടിലേക്കു മാറിപ്പോകരുതു.
8 "And whatever town you come to and they receive you, eat what they put before you.
ഏതു പട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും ചെന്നാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെക്കുന്നതു ഭക്ഷിപ്പിൻ.
9 Cure the sick in that town, and tell them, "'The Kingdom of God is now at your door.'
അതിലെ രോഗികളെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി, ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമീപിച്ചുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറവിൻ.
10 "But whatever town you come to and they will not receive you, go out into the broader streets and say,
ഏതു പട്ടണത്തിലെങ്കിലും ചെന്നാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അതിന്റെ തെരുക്കളിൽ പോയി:
11 "'The very dust of your town that hangs about us we wipe off as a protest. Only be sure of this, that the Kingdom of God is close at hand.'
നിങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലിന്നു പറ്റിയ പൊടിയും ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കുടഞ്ഞേച്ചുപോകുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ദൈവരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നു പറവിൻ.
12 "I tell you that it will be more endurable for Sodom on the great day than for that town.
ആ പട്ടണത്തെക്കാൾ സൊദോമ്യൎക്കു ആ നാളിൽ സഹിക്കാവതാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
13 "Alas for thee, Chorazin! Alas for thee, Bethsaida! For had the miracles been performed in Tyre and Sidon which have been performed in you, long ere now they would have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
കോരസീനേ, നിനക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; ബേത്ത്സയിദേ, നിനക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങളിൽ നടന്ന വീൎയ്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾ സോരിലും സീദോനിലും നടന്നിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവർ പണ്ടുതന്നേ രട്ടിലും വെണ്ണീറിലും ഇരുന്നു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.
14 However, for Tyre and Sidon it will be more endurable at the Judgement than for you.
എന്നാൽ ന്യായവിധിയിൽ നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ സോരിന്നും സീദോന്നും സഹിക്കാവതാകും.
15 And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be lifted high as Heaven? Thou shalt be driven down as low as Hades. (Hadēs g86)
നീയോ കഫൎന്നഹൂമേ, സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തോളം ഉയൎന്നിരിക്കുമോ? നീ പാതാളത്തോളം താണുപോകും. (Hadēs g86)
16 "He who listens to you listens to me; and he who disregards you disregards me, and he who disregards me disregards Him who sent me."
നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുന്നവൻ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളെ തള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ തള്ളുന്നു; എന്നെ തള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവനെ തള്ളുന്നു.
17 When the Seventy returned, they exclaimed joyfully, "Master, even the demons submit to us when we utter your name."
ആ എഴുപതുപേർ സന്തോഷത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിവന്നു: കൎത്താവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഭൂതങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കീഴടങ്ങുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു;
18 "I saw Satan fall like a lightning-flash out of Heaven," He replied.
അവൻ അവരോടു: സാത്താൻ മിന്നൽപോലെ ആകാശത്തു നിന്നു വീഴുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു.
19 "I have given you power to tread serpents and scorpions underfoot, and to trample on all the power of the Enemy; and in no case shall anything do you harm.
പാമ്പുകളെയും തേളുകളെയും ശത്രുവിന്റെ സകല ബലത്തെയും ചവിട്ടുവാൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അധികാരം തരുന്നു; ഒന്നും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരിക്കലും ദോഷം വരുത്തുകയും ഇല്ല.
20 Nevertheless rejoice not at this, that the spirits submit to you; but rejoice that your names are registered in Heaven."
എങ്കിലും ഭൂതങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കീഴടങ്ങുന്നതിലല്ല. നിങ്ങളുടെ പേർ സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതിലത്രേ സന്തോഷിപ്പിൻ.
21 On that same occasion Jesus was filled by the Holy Spirit with rapturous joy. "I give Thee fervent thanks," He exclaimed, "O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that Thou hast hidden these things from sages and men of understanding, and hast revealed them to babes. Yes, Father, for such has been Thy gracious will.
ആ നാഴികയിൽ അവൻ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൽ ആനന്ദിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: പിതാവേ, സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും കൎത്താവായുള്ളോവേ, നീ ഇവ ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കും വിവേകികൾക്കും മറെച്ചു ശിശുക്കൾക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു. അതേ, പിതാവേ, ഇങ്ങനെ നിനക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയല്ലോ.
22 All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is but the Father, nor who the Father is but the Son, and he to whom the Son may choose to reveal Him."
എന്റെ പിതാവു സകലവും എങ്കൽ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. പുത്രൻ ഇന്നവൻ എന്നു പിതാവല്ലാതെ ആരും അറിയുന്നില്ല; പിതാവു ഇന്നവൻ എന്നു പുത്രനും പുത്രൻ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊടുപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവനും അല്ലാതെ ആരും അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
23 And He turned towards His disciples and said to them apart, "Blessed are the eyes which see what you see!
പിന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞു: നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്നതിനെ കാണുന്ന കണ്ണു ഭാഗ്യമുള്ളതു.
24 For I tell you that many Prophets and kings have desired to see the things you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things you hear, and have not heard them."
നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്നതിനെ കാണ്മാൻ ഏറിയ പ്രവാചകന്മാരും രാജാക്കന്മാരും ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടും കണ്ടില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കുന്നതിനെ കേൾപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടും കേട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പ്രത്യേകം പറഞ്ഞു.
25 Then an expounder of the Law stood up to test Him with a question. "Rabbi," he asked, "what shall I do to inherit the Life of the Ages?" (aiōnios g166)
അനന്തരം ഒരു ന്യായശാസ്ത്രി എഴുന്നേറ്റു: ഗുരോ, ഞാൻ നിത്യജീവന്നു അവകാശി ആയിത്തീരുവാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു. (aiōnios g166)
26 "Go to the Law," said Jesus; "what is written there? how does it read?"
അവൻ അവനോടു: ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എന്തു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എങ്ങനെ വായിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു
27 "'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God,'" he replied, "'with thy whole heart, thy whole soul, thy whole strength, and thy whole mind; and thy fellow man as much as thyself.'"
അവൻ: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കൎത്താവിനെ നീ പൂൎണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂൎണ്ണാത്മാവോടും പൂൎണ്ണശക്തിയോടും പൂൎണ്ണമനസ്സോടും കൂടെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നും കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെതന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നും തന്നെ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
28 "A right answer," said Jesus; "do that, and you shall live."
അവൻ അവനോടു: നീ പറഞ്ഞ ഉത്തരം ശരി; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്ക; എന്നാൽ നീ ജീവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said, "But what is meant by my 'fellow man'?"
അവൻ തന്നെത്താൻ നീതീകരിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടു യേശുവിനോടു: എന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു
30 Jesus replied, "A man was once on his way down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell among robbers, who after both stripping and beating him went away, leaving him half dead.
യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നു യെരീഹോവിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോൾ കള്ളന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ അവനെ വസ്ത്രം അഴിച്ചു മുറിവേല്പിച്ചു അൎദ്ധപ്രാണനായി വിട്ടേച്ചു പോയി.
31 Now a priest happened to be going down that way, and on seeing him passed by on the other side.
ആ വഴിയായി യദൃച്ഛയാ ഒരു പുരോഹിതൻ വന്നു അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു മാറി കടന്നു പോയി.
32 In like manner a Levite also came to the place, and seeing him passed by on the other side.
അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഒരു ലേവ്യനും ആ സ്ഥലത്തിൽ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു മാറി കടന്നുപോയി.
33 But a certain Samaritan, being on a journey, came where he lay, and seeing him was moved with pity.
ഒരു ശമൎയ്യക്കാരനോ വഴിപോകയിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു അരികെ ചെന്നു
34 He went to him, and dressed his wounds with oil and wine and bound them up. Then placing him on his own mule he brought him to an inn, where he bestowed every care on him.
എണ്ണയും വീഞ്ഞും പകൎന്നു അവന്റെ മുറിവുകളെ കെട്ടി അവനെ തന്റെ വാഹനത്തിൽ കയറ്റി വഴിയമ്പലത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി രക്ഷചെയ്തു.
35 The next day he took out two shillings and gave them to the innkeeper. "'Take care of him,' he said, 'and whatever further expense you are put to, I will repay it you at my next visit.'
പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവൻ പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ രണ്ടു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് എടുത്തു വഴിയമ്പലക്കാരന്നു കൊടുത്തു: ഇവനെ രക്ഷ ചെയ്യേണം; അധികം വല്ലതും ചെലവിട്ടാൽ ഞാൻ മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ തന്നു കൊള്ളാം എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
36 "Which of those three seems to you to have acted like a fellow man to him who fell among the robbers?"
കള്ളന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടവന്നു ഈ മൂവരിൽ ഏവൻ കൂട്ടുകാരനായിത്തീൎന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു തോന്നുന്നു?
37 "The one who showed him pity," he replied. "Go," said Jesus, "and act in the same way."
അവനോടു കരുണ കാണിച്ചവൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവനോടു നീയും പോയി അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
38 As they pursued their journey He came to a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed Him to her house.
പിന്നെ അവർ യാത്രപോകയിൽ അവൻ ഒരു ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ എത്തി; മാൎത്താ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു സ്ത്രീ അവനെ വീട്ടിൽ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who seated herself at the Lord's feet and listened to His teaching.
അവൾക്കു മറിയ എന്ന ഒരു സഹോദരി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവൾ കൎത്താവിന്റെ കാൽക്കൽ ഇരുന്നു അവന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
40 Martha meanwhile was busy and distracted in waiting at table, and she came and said, "Master, do you not care that my sister is leaving me to do all the waiting? Tell her to assist me."
മാൎത്തയോ വളരെ ശുശ്രൂഷയാൽ കുഴങ്ങീട്ടു അടുക്കെവന്നു: കൎത്താവേ, എന്റെ സഹോദരി ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു എന്നെ തനിച്ചു വിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിൽ നിനക്കു വിചാരമില്ലയോ? എന്നെ സഹായിപ്പാൻ അവളോടു കല്പിച്ചാലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
41 "Martha, Martha," replied Jesus, "you are anxious and worried about a multitude of things;
കൎത്താവു അവളോടു: മാൎത്തയേ, മാൎത്തയേ, നീ പലതിനെച്ചൊല്ലി വിചാരപ്പെട്ടും മനം കലങ്ങിയുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
42 and yet only one thing is really necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion and she shall not be deprived of it."
എന്നാൽ അല്പമേ വേണ്ടു; അല്ല, ഒന്നു മതി. മറിയ നല്ല അംശം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ആരും അവളോടു അപഹരിക്കയുമില്ല.
