Job 37
1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of its place.
Sobre isto também treme o meu coração, e salta do seu lugar.
2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound [that] goeth out of his mouth.
Atentamente ouvi o movimento da sua voz, e o sonido que sai da sua boca.
3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
Ele o envia por debaixo de todos os céus, e a sua luz até aos confins da terra.
4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellence; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
Depois disto brama com grande voz, troveja com a sua alta voz; e, ouvida a sua voz, não tarda com estas coisas.
5 God thundereth marvelously with his voice; great things he doeth, which we cannot comprehend.
Com a sua voz troveja Deus maravilhosamente: faz grandes coisas, e nós as não compreendemos.
6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou [on] the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
Porque à neve diz: Está sobre a terra: como também ao aguaceiro e à sua forte chuva.
7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
Ele sela as mãos de todo o homem, para que conheça todos os homens de sua obra.
8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
E as bestas entram nos seus esconderijos e ficam nas suas cavernas.
9 From the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold from the north.
Da recâmara sai o pé de vento, e dos ventos dispersivos o frio.
10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
Pelo assopro de Deus se dá a geada, e as largas águas se endurecem.
11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
Também com a umidade carrega as grossas nuvens, e esparge a nuvem da sua luz.
12 And it is turned around by his counsels: that they may do whatever he commandeth them upon the face of the world on the earth.
Então elas, segundo o seu prudente conselho, se tornam pelas esferas, para que façam tudo quanto lhes ordena sobre a superfície do mundo habitável,
13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
Seja que por vara, ou para a sua terra, ou por beneficência as faça vir.
14 Hearken to this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
A isto, ó Job, inclina os teus ouvidos: põe-te em pé, e considera as maravilhas de Deus.
15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Porventura sabes tu quando Deus considera nelas, e faz resplandecer a lua da sua nuvem?
16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
Tens tu notícia do equilíbrio das grossas nuvens e das maravilhas de aquele que é perfeito nos conhecimentos,
17 How thy garments [are] warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south [wind]?
Ou de como os teus vestidos aquecem, quando do sul há calma sobre a terra?
18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky [which is] strong, [and] as a molten looking-glass?
Ou estendeste com ele os céus, que estão firmes como espelho fundido?
19 Teach us what we shall say to him; [for] we cannot order [our speech] by reason of darkness.
Ensina-nos o que lhe diremos; porque nós nada poderemos pôr em boa ordem, por causa das trevas.
20 Shall it be told him that I speak? If a man shall speak, surely he will be swallowed up.
Ou ser-lhe-ia contado, quando eu assim falasse? dir-lhe-á alguém isso? pois será devorado.
21 And now [men] see not the bright light which [is] in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
E agora se não pode olhar para o sol, quando resplandece nos céus; passando e purificando-os o vento.
22 Fair weather cometh from the north: with God [is] terrible majesty.
O esplendor de ouro vem do norte: pois em Deus há uma tremenda magestade.
23 [Touching] the Almighty, we cannot find him out: [he is] excellent in power, and in judgment, and in abundance of justice: he will not afflict.
Ao Todo-poderoso não podemos alcançar; grande é em potência; porém a ninguém oprime em juízo e grandeza de justiça.
24 Men therefore fear him: he respecteth not any [that are] wise of heart.
Por isso o temem os homens: ele não respeita aos sábios de coração.
