Proverbs 9
1 Wisdom has built her own house; she has carved seven pillars out of rocks.
Khôn ngoan xây cất nhà mình; chạm bảy cột trụ.
2 She has slaughtered her animals; she has mixed her wine; and she has set her table.
Giết chiên bò, pha rượu nho, chuẩn bị dọn tiệc lớn.
3 She has sent out her maids; she calls out from the highest points of the city,
Khôn ngoan sai tớ gái mời mọi người đến dự. Từ các nơi cao của thành, sự khôn ngoan kêu gọi.
4 “Who is naive? Let him turn aside here!” To the one lacking good sense she speaks.
“Hãy đến cùng ta,” khôn ngoan mời người đơn sơ. Và nhắn với người ngu muội rằng:
5 “Come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed.
“Cứ đến ăn bánh, và uống rượu ta pha.
6 Leave your naive actions and live; walk in the path of understanding.
Bỏ đường lối dại khờ, thì con sẽ được sống; và bước đi trên đường thông sáng.”
7 Whoever disciplines a mocker receives abuse, and whoever rebukes a wicked person receives insults.
Ai quở người chế nhạo sẽ bị nhục nhã. Ai trách người độc ác sẽ mang nhuốc nhơ.
8 Do not reprove a mocker, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
Đừng quở người chế nhạo; vì họ sẽ ghét con. Nhưng khiển trách người khôn ngoan, thì con sẽ được yêu kính.
9 Give to a wise person, and he will become even wiser; teach a righteous person, and he will add to his learning.
Hướng dẫn người khôn, họ sẽ thêm khôn. Dạy bảo người ngay, họ sẽ thêm hiểu biết.
10 The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Kính sợ Chúa Hằng Hữu là khởi đầu sự khôn ngoan. Hiểu biết Đấng Thánh, ấy cội nguồn tri thức.
11 For through me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.
Nhờ sự khôn ngoan, ngày con thêm nhiều và tuổi đời con gia tăng.
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you mock, you will carry it by yourself.”
Nếu khôn ngoan, chính con được nhờ. Còn chế nhạo, riêng con gánh chịu.
13 The woman of foolishness is ignorant; she is untaught and knows nothing.
Đàn bà điên dại ăn nói sỗ sàng. Thiếu suy nghĩ và không hiểu biết.
14 She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the highest places of the town.
Nó ngồi trước cửa nhà, tại nơi góc đường đô thị.
15 She is calling out to those who pass by in the streets, to people walking straight on their way.
Kêu gọi khách bộ hành, đang bận rộn qua lại.
16 “Let anyone who is naive turn aside here,” she says to those who have no sense.
“Hãy đến với tôi,” nó mời người đơn sơ. Và bảo người thiếu suy xét:
17 “Stolen waters are sweet, and bread of secrecy is delicious.”
“Nước uống trộm thật ngọt ngào, bánh ăn vụng thật ngon thay!”
