Job 37
1 Indeed, my heart trembles at this; it is moved out of its place.
Disto também o meu coração treme, e salta de seu lugar.
2 Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out from his mouth.
Ouvi atentamente o estrondo de sua voz, e o som que sai de sua boca,
3 He sends it out under the whole sky, and he sends out his lightning to the edges of the earth.
Ao qual envia por debaixo de todos os céus; e sua luz até os confins da terra.
4 A voice roars after it; he thunders with the voice of his majesty; he does not restrain the lightning bolts when his voice is heard.
Depois disso brama com estrondo; troveja com sua majestosa voz; e ele não retém [seus relâmpagos] quando sua voz é ouvida.
5 God thunders marvelously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.
Deus troveja maravilhosamente com sua voz; ele faz coisas tão grandes que nós não compreendemos.
6 For he says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth'; likewise to the rain shower, 'Become a great shower of rain.'
Pois ele diz à neve: Cai sobre à terra; Como também à chuva: Sê chuva forte.
7 He stops the hand of every man from working, so that all people whom he has made may see his deeds.
Ele sela as mãos de todo ser humano, para que todas as pessoas conheçam sua obra.
8 Then the beasts go into hiding and stay in their dens.
E os animais selvagens entram nos esconderijos, e ficam em suas tocas.
9 The storm comes from its chamber in the south and the cold from the scattering winds in the north.
Da recâmara vem o redemoinho, e dos [ventos] que espalham [vem] o frio.
10 By the breath of God ice is given; the expanse of the waters is frozen like metal.
Pelo sopro de Deus se dá o gelo, e as largas águas se congelam.
11 Indeed, he weighs down the thick cloud with moisture; he scatters his lightning through the clouds.
Ele também carrega de umidade as espessas nuvens, [e] por entre as nuvens ele espalha seu relâmpago.
12 He swirls the clouds around by his guidance, so that they may do whatever he commands them above the surface of the whole world.
Então elas se movem ao redor segundo sua condução, para que façam quanto ele lhes manda sobre a superfície do mundo, na terra;
13 He makes all of this happen; sometimes it happens for correction, sometimes for his land, and sometimes as acts of covenant faithfulness.
Seja que ou por vara de castigo, ou para sua terra, ou por bondade as faça vir.
14 Listen to this, Job; stop and think about God's marvelous deeds.
Escuta isto, Jó; fica parado, e considera as maravilhas de Deus.
15 Do you know how God establishes the clouds and makes the lightning bolts to flash in them?
Por acaso sabes tu quando Deus dá ordem a elas, e faz brilhar o relâmpago de sua nuvem?
16 Do you understand the floating of the clouds, the marvelous deeds of God, who is perfect in knowledge?
Conheces tu os equilíbrios das nuvens, as maravilhas daquele que é perfeito no conhecimento?
17 Do you understand how your garments become hot when the land is still because the wind comes from the south?
Tu, cujas vestes se aquecem quando a terra se aquieta por causa do [vento] sul,
18 Can you spread out the sky as he can— the sky, which is as strong as a mirror of cast metal?
acaso podes estender com ele os céus, que estão firmes como um espelho fundido?
19 Teach us what we should say to him, for we cannot lay out our arguments in order because of the darkness of our minds.
Ensina-nos o que devemos dizer a ele; [pois discurso] nenhum podemos propor, por causa das [nossas] trevas.
20 Should he be told that I wish to speak with him? Would a person wish to be swallowed up?
Seria contado a ele o que eu haveria de falar? Por acaso alguém falaria para ser devorado?
21 Now, people cannot look at the sun when it is bright in the sky after the wind has passed through and has cleared it of its clouds.
E agora não se pode olhar para o sol, quando brilha nos céus, quando o vento passa e os limpa.
22 Out of the north comes golden splendor— over God is fearsome majesty.
Do norte vem o esplendor dourado; em Deus há majestade temível.
23 As for the Almighty, we cannot find him! He is great in power; he does not oppress justice and abundant righteousness.
Não podemos alcançar ao Todo-Poderoso; ele é grande em poder; porém ele a ninguém oprime [em] juízo e grandeza de justiça.
24 Therefore, people fear him. He does not pay any attention to those who are wise in their own minds.”
Por isso as pessoas o temem; ele não dá atenção aos que [se acham] sábios de coração.
