< 1 Peter 5 >

1 I am exhorting the elders among you, I, who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and am also one who will share in the glory that will be revealed:
Àwọn alàgbà tí ń bẹ láàrín yín ni mo gbànímọ̀ràn, èmi ẹni tí ń ṣe alàgbà bí ẹ̀yin, àti ẹlẹ́rìí ìyà Kristi, àti alábápín nínú ògo tí a ó fihàn.
2 Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God would have you serve—not for shameful profit but eagerly.
Ẹ máa tọ́jú agbo Ọlọ́run tí ń bẹ láàrín yín, ẹ máa bojútó o, kì í ṣe àfipáṣe, bí kò ṣe tìfẹ́tìfẹ́; kó má sì jẹ́ fún èrè ìjẹkújẹ, bí kò ṣe pẹ̀lú ìpinnu tí ó múra tan.
3 Do not act as a master over the people who are in your care. Instead, be an example to the flock.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì í ṣe bí ẹni tí ń lo agbára lórí ìjọ, ṣùgbọ́n kí ẹ ṣe ara yín ní àpẹẹrẹ fún agbo.
4 Then when the Chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive an unfading crown of glory.
Nígbà tí Olórí Olùṣọ́-àgùntàn bá sì fi ara hàn, ẹ̀yin ó gba adé ògo ti kì í sá.
5 In the same way, you younger men, submit to the older men. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility and serve one another. For God resists the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ pẹ̀lú, ẹ̀yin ọ̀dọ́, ẹ tẹríba fún àwọn alàgbà. Àní, gbogbo yín ẹ máa tẹríba fún ara yín kí ẹ fi ìrẹ̀lẹ̀ wọ ara yín ní aṣọ: nítorí, “Ọlọ́run kọ ojú ìjà sí àwọn agbéraga, ṣùgbọ́n ó ń fi oore-ọ̀fẹ́ fún àwọn onírẹ̀lẹ̀.”
6 Therefore humble yourselves under God's mighty hand so that he may lift you up in due time.
Nítorí náà, ẹ rẹ ara yin sílẹ̀ lábẹ́ ọwọ́ agbára Ọlọ́run, kí òun lè gbe yín ga lákokò.
7 Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.
Ẹ máa kó gbogbo àníyàn yín lé e; nítorí tí òun ń ṣe ìtọ́jú yín.
8 Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, is stalking around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Ẹ máa wà ni àìrékọjá, ẹ máa ṣọ́ra; nítorí èṣù ọ̀tá yín, bí i kìnnìún tí ń ké ramúramù, ó ń rìn káàkiri, ó ń wa ẹni tí yóò pajẹ.
9 Stand against him. Be strong in your faith. You know that your community of believers that is in the world is enduring the same sufferings.
Ẹ kọ ojú ìjà sí i pẹ̀lú ìdúró ṣinṣin nínú ìgbàgbọ́, bí ẹ̀yin ti mọ̀ pé ìyà kan náà ni àwọn ará yín tí ń bẹ nínú ayé ń jẹ.
10 After you suffer for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will perfect you, establish you, and strengthen you. (aiōnios g166)
Ọlọ́run oore-ọ̀fẹ́ gbogbo, tí ó ti pè yín sínú ògo rẹ̀ tí kò nípẹ̀kun nínú Kristi Jesu, nígbà tí ẹ̀yin bá ti jìyà díẹ̀, òun tìkára rẹ̀, yóò sì ṣe yín ní àṣepé, yóò fi ẹsẹ̀ yín múlẹ̀, yóò fún yín lágbára, yóò fi ìdí yín kalẹ̀. (aiōnios g166)
11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Tìrẹ ni ògo àti agbára títí láé. Àmín. (aiōn g165)
12 I regard Silvanus as a faithful brother, and I have written to you briefly through him. I am exhorting you and I am testifying to you that what I have written is the true grace of God. Stand in it.
Nítorí Sila, arákùnrin wa olóòtítọ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti kà á sí, ni mo kọ̀wé kúkúrú sí i yín, tí mo ń gbà yín níyànjú, tí mo sì ń jẹ́rìí pé, èyí ni òtítọ́ oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run: ẹ dúró ṣinṣin nínú rẹ̀.
13 The woman who is in Babylon, who is chosen together with you, greets you. Also Mark, my son, greets you.
Ìjọ tí ń bẹ ní Babeli, tí a yàn, pẹ̀lú kí yín, bẹ́ẹ̀ sì ni Marku ọmọ mi pẹ̀lú.
14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. May peace be to you all who are in Christ.
Ẹ fi ìfẹ́nukonu ìfẹ́ kí ara, yín. Àlàáfíà fún gbogbo yín tí ẹ wà nínú Kristi.
