< 2 Timothy 2 >

1 Do you, then, my Child, find strength in the help which comes from the union with Christ Jesus;
Erah raangtaan ih, nga sah, Kristo Jisu minchan jun ih an tarong ih tong uh.
2 and what you learnt from me, in the presence of many listeners, entrust to reliable men, who will be able in their turn to teach others.
Ngah ih mina loong haaki haana hantek angrum adi nyootsoot tang loong chaattu ah an ih ekap etheng, eno o mina ih mihoh suh nep we deen nyoot ah ih thunhu erah loong asuh nyoot thuk rum uh.
3 Share hardships with me, as a true soldier of Christ Jesus.
Jisu Kristo jengchaatchaat ete sipaahi jun ih, an ih echamnaang ah ejen roonghui etheng.
4 A soldier on active service, to please his superior officer, always avoids entangling himself in the affairs of ordinary life.
Sipaahi ih heh reeraang pakna tokdoh heh saahaap ah eroonthuk et suh jaat thun ah, eno erah thoih sipaahi lah angka mina mootkaat nah taroong phaklak moka ang ah.
5 No athlete is ever awarded the wreath of victory unless he has kept the rules.
Etootmui soonte ih esoon banlam ah laphanka bah babah uh hethaang tachoka ang ah.
6 The labourer who does the work should be the first to receive a share of the fruits of the earth.
Phek mootte ah mootkaat doh rapne ih chekbekte ang abah cham jaakhoh menla ah roong chokhan ah.
7 Reflect upon what I say; the Lord will always help you to understand.
Ngah ih tumjih suh liihang ethun et thaak uh, tumeah Teesu ih erah loong ah thoontang emiisamthun etthuk ho.
8 Keep before your mind Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David, as told in the Good News entrusted to me;
Ruurang Ese tiit baattang adoh nyootsoot rum taha Jisu Kristo ah samthun uh, Heh Dewid sutoom tek nawa ngaakthingte warah angta.
9 in the service of which I am suffering hardships, even to being put in fetters as a criminal. But the Message of God is not fettered;
Tumeah, erah Ruurang Ese tiit tumbaat thoih, ngah ehuh eleek likhiik ih chamnaang khak rum tahang. Enoothong Rangte jengkhaap abah tajen khakka,
10 and that is why I submit to anything for the sake of God’s People, that they also may obtain the Salvation which comes from union with Christ Jesus, and imperishable glory. (aiōnios g166)
eno danje choi mina thoih ih ba jirep ah enaan et hang, tumeah Kristo Jisu jun ih lathoon theng et roorangjih khopiiroidong ah neng ih uh echoh toom eah. (aiōnios g166)
11 How true this saying is — ‘If we have shared his death, we shall also share his life.
Amiisak tiit arah ah: “Seng Kristo damdoh tek ih ba, Seng uh heh damdoh khothing tong ih.
12 If we continue to endure, we shall also share his throne. If we should ever disown him, he, too, will disown us.
Seng ih heh damdoh ban roongnaan ruh et ibah, Seng ih uh heh damdoh roong pan et ih. Seng ih heh ah edaan mok et ih, heh reh uh seng ah edaan et he.
13 If we lose our trust, he is still to be trusted, for he cannot be false to himself!’
Seng kamkam latuungmaangke bah, heh tuungmaang ah je ruh ela, tumeah heh teeteewah raang ih heh tamoongtaangka.”
14 Remind people of all this; urge them solemnly, as in the sight of God, to avoid controversy, a useless thing and the ruin of those who listen to it.
Erah loong tiit ah an mina loong suh banbaat ruh et uh, eno Rangte ngathong nah neng jengkhaap nawa ih larookmui suh dangdang ih baat rum uh. Erah dowa ih ese tabaam dong reeka, erah nang ih eboichaatte ba dong chiike ah.
15 Do your utmost to show yourself true to God, a workman with no reason to be ashamed, accurate in delivering the Message of the Truth.
Rangte jiinko nah an mootkaat ah naririh ih dong moh uh, mootkaatte larakri thang ih moh arah likhiik ah, nyia Rangte amiisak tiit ah epun lam ih nyootte likhiik ah.
16 Avoid profane prattle. Those who indulge in it only get deeper into irreligious ways,
Esot tiitwaan nyia thungko taklo tiitwaan nawa haloh ih tong an, erah tiitwaan ih bah mina Rangte jiin nawa ba hiiksiit ah.
17 and their teaching will spread like a cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are instances of this.
Erah jaat tiit nyootsoot mu abah sok ama ih rangkhoh khoop matphak arah likhiik. Erah jaat tiit nyootte wanyi ah Haimenus nyia Philitus.
18 They have gone completely astray as regards the Truth; they say that a resurrection has already taken place, and so upset some people’s faith.
Nengnyi ih amiisak tiit lam ah thiinhaat nyuuha, eno etekte mararah loong abah ejen ngaaksaat eta ih baat nyu ano hanpiite loong ah thungjoong thuk rumha.
19 Yet God’s firm foundation still stands unmoved, and it bears this inscription — ‘THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS’; and this — ‘LET ALL THOSE WHO USE THE NAME OF THE LORD TURN AWAY FROM WICKEDNESS.’
Enoothong Rangte ih hetangphang rongkop ih hoonta ah o euh tajen mootnyoongka; eno erah di amet raangha: “Teesu ih heh mina o ah erah ejat eha” nyia “O ih neng ah Teesu mina et chaang ha loong ah ih neng reeraang ethih nawa engaaklek ejih jaatjaat ang ah.”
20 Now in a large house there are not only things of gold and silver, but also others of wood and earthenware, some for better and some for common use.
Nok elong nah khuung akhaak nyia tek alak hephan dowa je ah: maramarah ah hun akom nawa ih hoon arah, mararah ah hampaak nyia bang nawa ih hoon arah; rukho ah hoondak kaankoong doh maakjih, rukho ah jojang doh maakjih et hoonha.
21 If, then, a man has escaped from the pollution of such errors as I have mentioned, he will be like a thing kept for better use, set apart, serviceable to its owner, ready for any good purpose.
Erah ethih loong hukkhaak dowa o mina esa jen ang ah, erah loong ah hoondak mootkaat doh maak ah, tumeah neng ah rangsoom nawa ih saasiit ano thiinha eno Changte wah ih maakjih ang ah, nyia jaatrep ese mootkaat doh laanmaak ruh etjih ang rum ah.
22 Flee from the passions of youth, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, in the company of those who, with a pure heart, invoke the Lord.
Jaaro tenthun ethih nawa epui eh uh, eno o mina neng tenthun esa lam ih neng chosok suh Teesu poon rumha loong ah damdoh; kateng, tuungmaang, minchan nyia semroongroong ih songtong suh roong laatchaat uh.
23 Shun foolish and ignorant discussions, for you know that they only breed quarrels;
Enoothong thungko nyia lajatte loong damdoh lathaam daanmu theng; an ih jat et hu erah ih bah changrook ba dongsiit ah.
24 and a Servant of the Lord should never quarrel. He ought, on the contrary, to be courteous to every one, a skilful teacher, and forbearing.
An Teesu laksuh, erah thoi babah uh lajaatjaat rookmui theng. Mirep damdoh minchan eje angtheng, nyia ese nyia enaan ete nyootte jaatjaat angtheng,
25 He should instruct his opponents in a gentle spirit; for, possibly, God may give them a repentance that will lead to a fuller knowledge of Truth,
an jeng daante loong suh renbaat udoh toongtang lam ih renbaat uh, tumeah erah loong asuh Rangte ih sekthun thuk rum ano amiisak ah toom dong jatthuk rum ah.
26 and they may yet come to a sober mind, and escape from the snares of the Devil, when captured by the Lord’s Servant to do the will of God.
Eno juuba, nengthung ah dongsek ano Juungbaan luungwang phoong nawa puirum ah, neng loong ah heh phoong ni pat rum ano heh jengchaatchaat ang rum dowa.
