< Psalms 120 >
1 When I had troubles, I called out to Yahweh and he answered me.
Ein Stufenlied. - In meiner Drangsal rufe ich zum Herrn. Er hört auf mich.
2 [I prayed], “Yahweh, rescue/save me from people [SYN, MTY] who lie to me and [try to] deceive me!”
Herr! Rette mich von Lügenlippen, von trügerischer Zunge!
3 You people who lie to me, [I will tell you] [RHQ] what [God] will do to you and what he will do to punish you.
Wie liefert Dir die trügerische Zunge fort und fort
4 He will shoot sharp arrows at you like soldiers do, and he will [burn you with] red-hot coals from [the wood of] a broom tree.
geschärfte Pfeile eines Helden samt Ginsterkohlen!
5 It is terrible for me, living among cruel/savage [DOU] people [like those who live] in Meshech [region] and Kedar [region].
Weh mir, daß ich bei Mesech gaste, bei Kedars Zelten weile!
6 I have lived for a long time among people who hate [to live with others] peacefully.
Zu lange schon weilt meine Seele bei Friedensfeinden.
7 Every time I talk about living together peacefully, they talk about starting a war.
Ich bin so friedsam. Doch, wenn ich's auch noch so sehr beteure, sie wollen Kampf.
