Philippians 1
1 PAUL and Timothy, servants of Jesus the Messiah, to all the saints that are in Jesus the Messiah at Philippi, with the elders and deacons.
Paulo e Timotheo, servos de Jesus Cristo, a todos os santos em Cristo Jesus, que estão em Philipos, com os bispos e diáconos:
2 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
Graça a vós, e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pai e da do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
3 I thank my God at the constant recollection of you,
Dou graças ao meu Deus todas as vezes que me lembro de vós,
4 in all my prayers respecting you; and while I rejoice, I adore;
Fazendo sempre com gosto oração por vós em todas as minhas orações,
5 on account of your fellowship in the gospel, from the first day until now.
Pela vossa comunicação no evangelho desde o primeiro dia até agora.
6 Because I am confident of this, that he who hath begun the good works in you, will accomplish them until the day of our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
Tendo por certo isto mesmo, que aquele que em vós começou a boa obra, a aperfeiçoará até ao dia de Jesus Cristo;
7 For thus it is right for me to think of you all, because ye are permanently in my heart, and because, both in my bonds and in the vindication of the truth of the gospel, ye are my associates in grace.
Como tenho por justo sentir isto de vós todos, porquanto retenho em meu coração que todos vós fostes participantes da minha graça, tanto nas minhas prisões como na minha defesa e confirmação do evangelho.
8 For God is my witness, how I love you in the bowels of Jesus the Messiah.
Porque Deus me é testemunha das muitas saudades que de todos vós tenho, em entranhável afeição de Jesus Cristo.
9 And this I pray for, that your love may still increase and abound, in knowledge, and In all spiritual understanding:
E peço isto: que a vossa caridade abunde mais e mais em ciência e em todo o conhecimento,
10 so that ye may discern the things that are suitable; and may be pure and without offence, in the day of the Messiah,
Para que aproveis as coisas excelentes, para que sejais sinceros, e sem escândalo algum até ao dia de Cristo;
11 and be full of the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus the Messiah, to the praise and glory of God.
Cheios de frutos de justiça, que são por Jesus Cristo, para glória e louvor de Deus.
12 And I would that ye might know, my brethren, that the transaction in regard to me, hath eventuated rather for the furtherance of the gospel;
E quero, irmãos, que saibais que as coisas que me aconteceram contribuiram para maior proveito do evangelho.
13 so that my bonds, on account of the Messiah, are matter of notoriety in all the court, and to all others.
De maneira que as minhas prisões em Cristo foram manifestas em toda a guarda pretoriana, e em todos os demais lugares;
14 And many of the brethren in our Lord have become confident, on account of my bonds, and are more bold to speak the word of God without fear.
E muitos dos irmãos no Senhor, tomando ânimo com as minhas prisões, ousam falar a palavra mais confiadamente, sem temor.
15 And they herald it, some from envy and contention; but others with good will, and with love for the Messiah;
Verdade é que também alguns pregam a Cristo por inveja e porfia, mas outros também de boamente.
16 because they know that I am appointed for the vindication of the gospel.
Uns por amor, sabendo que fui posto para defesa do evangelho.
17 And they who herald the Messiah in contention, do it not sincerely; but they hope to add pressure to my bonds.
Mas outros, na verdade, anunciam a Cristo por contenção, não puramente, cuidando acrescentar aflição às minhas prisões.
18 And in this I have rejoiced, and do rejoice, that in every form, whether in pretence or in truth, the Messiah is heralded.
Mas que importa? contanto que Cristo seja anunciado em toda a maneira, ou com fingimento ou em verdade, nisto me regozijo, e me regozijarei ainda.
19 For I know, that these things will be found conducive to my life, through your prayers and the gift of the Spirit of Jesus the Messiah.
Porque sei que disto me resultará salvação, pela vossa oração e pelo socorro do espírito de Jesus Cristo,
20 So that I hope and expect, that I shall in nothing be put to shame; but with uncovered face, as at all times, so now, the Messiah will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
Segundo a minha intensa expectação e esperança, de que em nada serei confundido; antes, com toda a confiança, Cristo será, tanto agora como sempre, engrandecido no meu corpo, seja pela vida seja pela morte.
21 For my life is, the Messiah; and if I die, it is gain to me.
Porque para mim o viver é Cristo, e o morrer é ganho.
22 But if I have fruits of my labors in this life of the flesh, I know not what I shall choose.
Mas, se o viver na carne este é o fruto da minha obra, não sei então o que deva escolher.
23 For the two press upon me: I desire to be liberated, that I may be with the Messiah; and this would be very advantageous to me.
Porque de ambos os lados estou em aperto, tendo desejo de ser desatado, e estar com Cristo, porque isto é ainda muito melhor.
24 But also the business in regard to you, urges upon me to remain in the body.
Mas julgo mais necessário, por amor de vós, ficar na carne.
25 And this I confidently know, that I shall continue and remain, for your joy, and for the furtherance of your faith;
E confio nisto, e sei que ficarei, e permanecerei com todos vós, para proveito vosso e gozo da fé.
26 so that when I come again to you, your glorying, which is in Jesus the Messiah only, will abound through me.
Para que a vossa glória abunde por mim em Cristo Jesus, pela minha nova ida a vós.
27 Let your conduct be as becometh the gospel of the Messiah; so that if I come I may see you, and if absent I may hear of you, that ye stand fast in one spirit and in one soul, and that ye strive together in the faith of the gospel.
Somente vos porteis dignamente conforme o evangelho de Cristo, para que, quer vá e vos veja, ou quer esteja ausente, ouça acerca de vós, que estais num mesmo espírito, combatendo juntamente com o mesmo ânimo pela fé do evangelho.
28 And in nothing be ye startled, by those who rise up against us; which is an indication of their destruction, and of life for you.
E em nada vos espanteis dos que resistem, o que para eles, na verdade, é indício de perdição, mas para vós de salvação, e isto de Deus.
29 And this is given to you by God, that ye not only really believe in the Messiah, but also that ye suffer on his account;
Porque a vós vos foi gratuitamente concedido, em relação a Cristo, não somente crer nele, como também padecer por ele,
30 and that ye endure conflict, as ye have seen in me, and now hear concerning me.
Tendo o mesmo combate, que já em mim tendes visto, e agora ouvis de mim.
