Jonah 4
1 And it was displeasing to Jonah displeasure great and it burned to him.
Mais cela déplut fortement à Jonas, qui se mit en colère.
2 And he prayed to Yahweh and he said I beg you O Yahweh ¿ not [was] this word my until was I on own land my there-fore I did [the] first time to flee Tarshish towards that I knew that you [are] a God gracious and compassionate long of anger and great of covenant loyalty and [who] relents on evil.
Il pria Yahvé et dit: « Je t'en prie, Yahvé, n'est-ce pas ce que j'ai dit quand j'étais encore dans mon pays? C'est pourquoi je me suis hâté de fuir à Tarsis, car je savais que tu es un Dieu miséricordieux et compatissant, lent à la colère et riche en bonté, et que tu ne fais pas de mal.
3 And therefore O Yahweh take please life my from me for [is] good death my more than life my.
C'est pourquoi maintenant, Yahvé, enlève-moi la vie, je t'en supplie, car il vaut mieux pour moi mourir que vivre. »
4 And he said Yahweh ¿ rightly does it burn to you.
Yahvé dit: « Est-ce que tu as raison de te mettre en colère? »
5 And he went out Jonah from the city and he sat from east of the city and he made for himself there a shelter and he sat under it in the shade until that he will see what? will it be in the city.
Alors Jonas sortit de la ville et s'assit à l'est de la ville; il se fit une tente et s'assit dessous à l'ombre, jusqu'à ce qu'il puisse voir ce qu'il adviendrait de la ville.
6 And he appointed Yahweh God a plant and it went up - over Jonah to be shade over head his to deliver him from distress his and he rejoiced Jonah on the plant a joy great.
Yahvé Dieu prépara une vigne et la fit monter au-dessus de Jonas, afin qu'elle soit un ombrage sur sa tête et le délivre de son malaise. Et Jonas se réjouit beaucoup à cause de la vigne.
7 And he appointed God a worm when came up the dawn to the next day and it attacked the plant and it withered.
Mais le lendemain, à l'aube, Dieu prépara un ver qui rongea la vigne et la fit se dessécher.
8 And it was - when arose the sun and he appointed God a wind an east wind hot and it struck the sun on [the] head of Jonah and he became faint and he asked life his to die and he said [is] good death my more than life my.
Lorsque le soleil se leva, Dieu prépara un vent d'est très fort, et le soleil frappa la tête de Jonas, qui se sentit faible et demanda à mourir. Il dit: « Il vaut mieux pour moi mourir que vivre. »
9 And he said God to Jonah ¿ rightly does it burn to you on the plant and he said rightly it burns to me to death.
Dieu dit à Jonas: « Est-ce bien que tu sois en colère contre la vigne? » Il a dit: « J'ai le droit d'être en colère, même jusqu'à la mort. »
10 And he said Yahweh you you had compassion on the plant which not you had toiled in it and not you had made grow it that a son of a night it was and a son of a night it perished.
L'Éternel dit: « Tu t'es préoccupé de la vigne, pour laquelle tu n'as pas travaillé et que tu n'as pas fait croître, qui est montée en une nuit et qui a péri en une nuit.
11 And I not will I have compassion? on Nineveh the city great which there in it [are] many more than two [plus] ten ten thousand person[s] who not he distinguishes between right [hand] his and left his and livestock much.
Nedevrais-je pas m'inquiéter de Ninive, cette grande ville, dans laquelle il y a plus de cent vingt mille personnes qui ne savent pas distinguer leur main droite de leur main gauche, et aussi beaucoup d'animaux? ».
