Daniel 11
1 And I in year one of Darius the Mede standing my [was] to a strengthener and to a protection for him.
« Quant à moi, la première année de Darius le Mède, je me suis levé pour le confirmer et le renforcer.
2 And now truth I will tell to you there! yet three kings [are] about to arise for Persia and the fourth [king] he will gain wealth wealth great more than everyone and according to strength his by wealth his he will stir up everyone [the] kingdom of Greece.
« Maintenant, je vais te montrer la vérité. Voici que trois autres rois vont se lever en Perse. Le quatrième sera beaucoup plus riche que tous les autres. Quand il sera devenu fort par ses richesses, il soulèvera tout contre le royaume de Grèce.
3 And he will arise a king mighty and he will have dominion dominion great and he will do according to pleasure his.
Un roi puissant se lèvera, qui dominera avec une grande autorité, et fera ce qu'il voudra.
4 And just as arises he it will be broken up kingdom his and it will be divided to [the] four [the] winds of the heavens and not to posterity his and not like dominion his which he had dominion for it will be plucked up kingdom his and to others besides these.
Quand il se lèvera, son royaume sera brisé et partagé aux quatre vents du ciel, mais non pas pour sa postérité, ni selon la domination avec laquelle il a régné; car son royaume sera arraché, même pour d'autres que ceux-là.
5 So he may become strong [the] king of the south and one of commanders his so he may become strong on him and he will exercise dominion [will be] a dominion great dominion his.
« Le roi du midi sera puissant. L'un de ses princes deviendra plus fort que lui et dominera. Sa domination sera une grande domination.
6 And to [the] end of years they will make an alliance and [the] daughter of [the] king of the south she will come to [the] king of the north to do uprightness and not she will retain [the] power of the arm and not he will stand arm his so she may be given up she and [those who] brought her and the [one who] fathered her and [the one who] strengthened her in the times.
A la fin des années, ils s'uniront; et la fille du roi du midi ira vers le roi du nord pour conclure une alliance, mais elle ne conservera pas la force de son bras. Lui aussi ne tiendra pas, et son bras non plus; mais elle sera livrée, avec ceux qui l'ont amenée, et celui qui l'a engendrée, et celui qui l'a fortifiée en ces temps-là.
7 And he will arise one of [the] shoot[s] of roots her place his so he may come against the army so he may go in [the] stronghold of [the] king of the north and he will do with them and he will prevail.
« Mais d'un rejeton sorti de ses racines se lèvera un homme à sa place, qui ira à l'armée et entrera dans la forteresse du roi du nord; il traitera avec eux et sera vainqueur.
8 And also gods their with molten images their with [the] vessels of desire their silver and gold in captivity he will take Egypt and he years he will stand away from [the] king of the north.
Il emmènera aussi en captivité en Égypte leurs dieux, avec leurs images en fonte, et leurs vases d'argent et d'or. Il s'abstiendra quelques années du roi du nord.
9 And he will go in [the] kingdom of [the] king of the south and he will return to own land his.
Il entrera dans le royaume du roi du midi, mais il retournera dans son pays.
10 (And sons his *Q(K)*) they will wage war and they will gather a multitude of armies great and it will go certainly and it will overflow and it will pass over and it will return (so it may wage war *Q(K)*) to (stronghold his. *Q(K)*)
Ses fils feront la guerre et rassembleront une multitude de grandes forces qui arriveront, déborderont et passeront. Ils reviendront et feront la guerre, jusqu'à sa forteresse.
11 So he may be enraged [the] king of the south and he will go out and he will engage in battle with him with [the] king of the north and he will raise up a multitude great and it will be given the multitude in hand his.
« Le roi du Midi sera irrité et sortira pour le combattre, même le roi du Nord. Il enverra une grande multitude, et la multitude sera livrée entre ses mains.
12 And it will be carried off the multitude (and it will be lifted up *Q(K)*) heart his and he will make fall tens of thousands and not he will prevail.
La multitude sera emportée, et son cœur s'élèvera. Il renversera des dizaines de milliers, mais il ne vaincra pas.
13 And he will return [the] king of the north and he will raise up a multitude great more than the first and to [the] end of the times years he will come certainly with an army large and with equipment much.
Le roi du nord reviendra, et il enverra une multitude plus nombreuse que la précédente. Il arrivera à la fin des temps, des années, avec une grande armée et des provisions abondantes.
14 And in the times those many [people] they will arise on [the] king of the south and [the] sons of - [the] violent ones of people your they will exalt themselves to fulfill [the] vision and they will stumble.
« En ces temps-là, beaucoup se dresseront contre le roi du Midi. Les enfants des violents parmi ton peuple se lèveront aussi pour établir la vision, mais ils tomberont.
15 And he may come [the] king of the north so he may pour out a mound and he will capture a city of fortifications and [the] forces of the south not they will stand and [the] people of choicest ones his and there not [will be] strength to stand.
Alors le roi du nord viendra, il élèvera un monticule et prendra une ville bien fortifiée. Les forces du sud ne tiendront pas, ni ses troupes choisies, et il n'y aura pas de force pour tenir.
16 And he will do the [one who] comes against him according to pleasure his and there not [will be one who] stands before him so he may stand in [the] land of beauty and complete destruction [will be] in hand his.
Mais celui qui viendra contre lui agira selon sa propre volonté, et personne ne tiendra devant lui. Il se tiendra dans le pays de la gloire, et la destruction sera dans sa main.
17 And he will set - face his to come with [the] power of all kingdom his and upright [things] with him and he will do and [the] daughter of the women he will give to him to destroy it and not it will stand and not to him it will happen.
Il se préparera à venir avec la force de tout son royaume, et avec lui des conditions équitables. Il les exécutera. Il lui donnera la fille des femmes, pour détruire le royaume, mais elle ne tiendra pas, et ne sera pas pour lui.
18 (And he will set *Q(K)*) face his to [the] coastlands and he will capture many [people] and he will put an end to a commander scorn his for him not scorn his he will turn back to him.
Après cela, il tournera sa face vers les îles, et il en prendra beaucoup, mais un prince fera cesser l'opprobre qui lui est fait. Oui, bien plus, il fera en sorte que l'opprobre se retourne contre lui.
19 And he will turn face his to [the] strongholds of own land his and he will stumble and he will fall and not he will be found.
Puis il tournera sa face vers les forteresses de son pays; mais il trébuchera et tombera, et on ne le retrouvera pas.
20 And he will arise on place his [one who] will send through an oppressor [the] splendor of a kingdom and in days one he will be broken and not in anger and not in battle.
« Alors se dressera à sa place celui qui fera passer un collecteur d'impôts dans le royaume pour en maintenir la gloire; mais en peu de jours il sera détruit, non par la colère, ni par la bataille.
21 And he will arise on place his a despicable [person] and not people had given to him [the] honor of royalty and he will come in quietness and he will take hold of royalty by intrigues.
« A sa place se lèvera un homme méprisable, à qui on n'avait pas donné l'honneur du royaume; mais il viendra au temps de la sécurité, et il obtiendra le royaume par des flatteries.
22 And [the] forces of the flood they will be swept away from to before him so they may be broken and also a prince of a covenant.
Les forces écrasantes seront submergées devant lui, et seront brisées. Oui, aussi le prince de l'alliance.
23 And from when made an alliance with him he will act deceit and he will rise and he will become mighty with fewness of a nation.
Après le traité conclu avec lui, il agira avec ruse; car il s'élèvera et deviendra fort avec peu de gens.
24 In quietness and in [the] fertile places of [the] province he will come and he will do [that] which not they did ancestors his and [the] ancestors of ancestors his plunder and booty and property to them he will scatter and on strongholds he will plan plans his and until a time.
Au temps de la sécurité, il s'attaquera même aux lieux les plus gras de la province. Il fera ce que ses pères n'ont pas fait, ni les pères de ses pères. Il répandra parmi eux la proie, le pillage et la richesse. Oui, il élaborera ses plans contre les forteresses, mais seulement pour un temps.
25 And he will stir up strength his and heart his on [the] king of the south with an army large and [the] king of the south he will get ready for the battle with an army large and mighty up to muchness and not he will stand for people will plan on him plans.
« Il excitera sa puissance et son courage contre le roi du Midi avec une grande armée; et le roi du Midi livrera bataille avec une armée extrêmement grande et puissante, mais il ne tiendra pas, car on ourdira des plans contre lui.
26 And [those who] eat deli-cacies his they will break him and army his it will overflow and they will fall slain [ones] many.
Oui, ceux qui mangeront de ses mets le détruiront, et son armée sera balayée. Beaucoup tomberont tués.
27 And [the] two of them the kings heart their [will be] to evil and at a table one falsehood they will speak and not it will succeed for yet [the] end [is] to the appointed time.
Quant à ces deux rois, leur cœur sera porté à faire le mal, et ils diront des mensonges à une table; mais cela ne réussira pas, car la fin sera toujours au temps fixé.
28 And he will return own land his with property great and heart his [will be] on [the] covenant of holiness and he will act and he will return to own land his.
Puis il retournera dans son pays avec de grandes richesses. Son cœur sera contre l'alliance sainte. Il agira, et retournera dans son pays.
29 To the appointed time he will return and he will come in the south and not it will be as the former [time] and as the latter [time].
« Il reviendra au temps fixé et entrera dans le Midi; mais ce ne sera pas au dernier temps comme au premier.
30 And they will come on him ships of Kittim and he will be disheartened and he will turn back and he will direct indignation towards [the] covenant of holiness and he will act and he will turn back and he will pay attention on [those who] forsake [the] covenant of holiness.
Car des navires de Kittim viendront contre lui. C'est pourquoi il sera affligé, et il reviendra, et il s'indignera contre l'alliance sainte, et il agira. Il reviendra même, et aura égard à ceux qui abandonnent l'alliance sainte.
31 And forces from him they will arise and they will profane the sanctuary the stronghold and they will abolish the perpetual [offering] and they will set up the abomination desolating.
« Des forces de sa part profaneront le sanctuaire, la forteresse, et feront disparaître l'holocauste perpétuel. Puis ils dresseront l'abomination qui désole.
32 And [those who] act wickedly of [the] covenant he will pollute with flattering [words] and a people [which] knows God its they will display strength and they will act.
Il corrompra par des flatteries les méchants de l'alliance, mais le peuple qui connaît son Dieu sera fort et agira.
33 And [those who] have insight of [the] people they will give understanding to the many [people] and they will stumble by sword and by flame by captivity and by plunder days.
« Les sages parmi le peuple en instruiront beaucoup; mais ils tomberont par l'épée et par la flamme, par la captivité et par le pillage, pendant plusieurs jours.
34 And when stumble they they will be helped help a little and they will join themselves to them many [people] by intrigues.
Lorsqu'ils tomberont, on leur portera un petit secours; mais beaucoup se joindront à eux par des flatteries.
35 And some of those [who] have insight they will stumble to refine them and to purge [them] and to purify [them] until [the] time of [the] end for [it is] still to the appointed time.
Quelques-uns des sages tomberont pour les affiner, pour les purifier, pour les blanchir, jusqu'au temps de la fin, car c'est encore pour le temps fixé.
36 And he will do according to pleasure his the king so he may exalt himself and he may magnify himself above every god and on [the] God of gods he will speak extraordinary [things] and he will succeed until it has been completed indignation for [what has been] decreed it will be done.
« Le roi fera ce qu'il voudra. Il s'élèvera et se glorifiera au-dessus de tout dieu, et il dira des choses merveilleuses contre le Dieu des dieux. Il prospérera jusqu'à l'accomplissement de l'indignation, car ce qui est déterminé s'accomplira.
37 And on [the] gods of ancestors his not he will pay attention and on [the] desire of women and on any god not he will pay attention for above all he will magnify himself.
Il ne tiendra pas compte des dieux de ses pères, ni du désir des femmes, ni d'aucun dieu, car il s'élèvera au-dessus de tous.
38 And a god of strongholds on place its he will honor and a god which not they knew it ancestors his he will honor with gold and with silver and with stone costly and with precious things.
Mais à leur place, il honorera le dieu des forteresses. Il honorera un dieu que ses pères n'ont pas connu, avec de l'or, de l'argent, des pierres précieuses et des choses agréables.
39 And he will act to [the] fortresses of strongholds with a god of foreignness [one] who (he acknowledges *Q(K)*) he will increase honor and he will make rule them over the many [people] and land he will divide up for a price.
Il vaincra les forteresses les plus puissantes avec l'aide d'un dieu étranger. Il accroîtra la gloire de ceux qui le reconnaîtront. Il les fera dominer sur beaucoup de gens, et il partagera le pays à prix d'argent.
40 And at [the] time of [the] end he will wage war with him [the] king of the south so he may storm on him [the] king of the north with chariotry and with horsemen and with ships many and he will go in lands and he will overflow and he will pass through.
« Au temps de la fin, le roi du midi lui fera la guerre, et le roi du nord viendra contre lui comme un tourbillon, avec des chars, des cavaliers et de nombreux navires. Il entrera dans les pays, il les débordera et les traversera.
41 And he will come in [the] land of beauty and many [people] they will stumble and these they will escape from hand his Edom and Moab and [the] first of [the] people of Ammon.
Il entrera aussi dans le pays de la gloire, et beaucoup de pays seront renversés; mais ceux-ci seront délivrés de sa main: Édom, Moab, et le chef des enfants d'Ammon.
42 So he may stretch out hand his on lands and [the] land of Egypt not it will become an escaped remnant.
Il étendra aussi sa main sur les pays. Le pays d'Égypte n'échappera pas.
43 And he will rule over [the] treasures of gold and silver and over all [the] precious things of Egypt and Libyans and Cushites [will be] in footsteps his.
Mais il aura le pouvoir sur les trésors d'or et d'argent, et sur tous les objets précieux de l'Égypte. Les Libyens et les Éthiopiens suivront ses traces.
44 And reports they will dismay him from [the] east and from [the] north and he will go out in rage great to destroy and to totally destroy many [people].
Mais des nouvelles de l'Orient et du Nord le troubleront, et il sortira avec une grande fureur pour détruire et exterminer beaucoup de gens.
45 So he may pitch [the] tents of palace his between [the] seas and [the] mountain of [the] beauty of holiness and he will come to end his and not a helper [will belong] to him.
Il plantera les tentes de son palais entre la mer et la glorieuse montagne sainte; mais il arrivera à sa perte, et personne ne lui viendra en aide.
