< 1 Chronicles 16 >

1 And they brought [the] ark of God and they set it in [the] midst of the tent which he had pitched for it David and they brought near burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
And they brought in the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and they offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before God.
2 And he finished David from offering up the burnt offering and the peace offerings and he blessed the people in [the] name of Yahweh.
And when David had made an end of offering the burnt-offerings and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.
3 And he distributed to every person of Israel from man and unto woman to everyone a round loaf of bread and a date-cake and a raisin-cake.
And he dealt out to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.
4 And he appointed before [the] ark of Yahweh some of the Levites servants and to make remembrance and to give thanks and to praise Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
And he placed before the ark of the Lord several of the Levites as ministers, and to chaunt hymns, and to give praise and thanks unto the Lord the God of Israel:
5 Asaph [was] the chief and [was] second his Zechariah Jeiel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Mattithiah and Eliab and Benaiah and Obed-Edom and Jeiel with instruments of lyres and with harps and Asaph with cymbals [was] sounding aloud.
Assaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah; Je'iel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and Matthithyah, and Eliab, and Benayahu, and 'Obed-edom; and Je'iel with psalteries and with harps; but Assaph played aloud with the cymbals.
6 And Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before [the] ark of [the] covenant of God.
And Benayahu and Jachaziel the priests were with the trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 On the day that then he appointed David at the first to give thanks to Yahweh by [the] hand of Asaph and relatives his.
On that day—then did David appoint for the first time to give thanks to the Lord through means of Assaph and his brethren.
8 Give thanks to Yahweh proclaim name his make known among the peoples deeds his.
O give thanks unto the Lord; call on his name; make known among the people his deeds.
9 Sing to him sing praises to him tell in all wonders his.
Sing unto him, sing praises unto him: speak of all his wonderful works.
10 Boast in [the] name of holiness his let it rejoice [the] heart of [those who] seek Yahweh.
Glorify yourselves in his holy name: let the heart of those rejoice that seek the Lord.
11 Seek Yahweh and strength his seek face his continually.
Inquire after the Lord and his strength: seek his presence evermore.
12 Remember wonders his which he has done wonders his and [the] judgments of mouth his.
Remember his wonderful works which he hath done, his tokens, and the decrees of his mouth;
13 O offspring of Israel servant his O descendants of Jacob chosen ones his.
O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his elect.
14 He [is] Yahweh God our [are] in all the earth judgments his.
He is the Lord our God: over all the earth are his decrees.
15 Remember for ever covenant his [the] word [which] he commanded for a thousand generation[s].
Remember ye for ever his covenant, the word which he hath commanded to the thousandth generation.
16 Which he made with Abraham and oath his to Isaac.
Which he covenanted with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
17 And he confirmed it to Jacob to a statute to Israel a covenant of perpetuity.
And which he established unto Jacob as a statute, unto Israel as an everlasting covenant;
18 Saying to you I will give [the] land of Canaan [the] portion of inheritance your.
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance;
19 When were you men of number like a few and sojourners in it.
When ye were but few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
20 And they went about from nation to nation and from a kingdom to a people another.
And when they wandered from one nation to another, and from one kingdom to another people:
21 Not he permitted anyone to oppress them and he rebuked on them kings.
He suffered no man to oppress them; yea, he reproved kings for their sake.
22 May not you touch anointed [ones] my and to prophets my may not you do harm.
Saying, “Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”—
23 Sing to Yahweh O all the earth bear news from day to day salvation his.
Sing unto the Lord all ye lands: announce from day to day his salvation.
24 Recount among the nations glory his among all the peoples wonders his.
Relate among the nations his glory: among all the people his wonderful deeds.
25 For [is] great Yahweh and [is] to be praised exceedingly and [is] to be feared he above all gods.
For great is the Lord, and greatly praised; and he is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all [the] gods of the peoples [are] worthless idols and Yahweh [the] heavens he made.
For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord hath made the heavens.
27 Splendor and majesty [are] before him strength and joy [are] in place his.
Majesty and honor are in his presence, strength and gladness are in his place.
28 Ascribe to Yahweh O clans of peoples ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.
Ascribe unto the Lord, O ye families of people, ascribe unto the Lord glory and strength.
29 Ascribe to Yahweh [the] glory of name his lift up an offering and come before him bow down to Yahweh in adornment of holiness.
Ascribe unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; take up an offering, and come into his presence; bow down before the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
30 Tremble from to before him O all the earth also it is established [the] world not it will be shaken.
Tremble before him, all ye lands! Also the world standeth firmly, that it be not moved.
31 Let them rejoice the heavens and let it be glad the earth and let people say among the nations Yahweh he reigns.
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.
32 Let it thunder the sea and what fills it let it exult the field and all that [is] in it.
Let the sea roar, with all that filleth it: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.
33 Then they will shout for joy [the] trees of the forest from to before Yahweh for [he is] coming to judge the earth.
Then shall the trees of the forest sing joyfully at the presence of the Lord; because he cometh to judge the earth.
34 Give thanks to Yahweh for [he is] good for [is] for ever covenant loyalty his.
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; because unto everlasting endureth his kindness.
35 And say save us O God of salvation our and gather us and deliver us from the nations to give thanks to [the] name of holiness your to boast in praise your.
And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, to glorify ourselves in thy praise.
36 [be] blessed Yahweh [the] God of Israel from antiquity and until perpetuity and they said all the people amen and they praised Yahweh.
Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel from everlasting even unto everlasting. And all the people said, Amen, and praise unto the Lord.
37 And he left there before [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh Asaph and relatives his to serve before the ark continually to [the] matter of a day in day its.
And he left there in charge before the ark of the covenant of the Lord Assaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, at the work of every day on its day,
38 And Obed-Edom and relatives their sixty and eight and Obed-Edom [the] son of Jedithun and Hosah to gatekeepers.
And 'Obed-edom with their brethren, sixty and eight, and 'Obed-edom the son of Jeduthun and Chossah to be gatekeepers;
39 And - Zadok the priest and relatives his the priests before [the] tabernacle of Yahweh at the high place which [was] in Gibeon.
And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord, in the high-place that was at Gib'on,
40 To offer up burnt offerings to Yahweh on [the] altar of the burnt offering continually to the morning and to the evening and to every [thing] written in [the] law of Yahweh which he commanded to Israel.
To offer burnt-offerings unto the Lord upon the altar of the burnt-offering continually at morning and at evening, and this in accordance with all that is written in the law of the Lord which he had commanded concerning Israel;
41 And [were] with them Heman and Jeduthun and [the] rest of those [who] had been chosen who they had been designated by names to give thanks to Yahweh for [is] for ever covenant loyalty his.
And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were selected who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because unto everlasting endureth his kindness;
42 And [were] with them Heman and Jeduthun trumpets and cymbals for [those who] sound aloud and [the] instruments of song of God and [the] sons of Jeduthun [were] to the gate.
And with them, with Heman and Jeduthun, the trumpets and cymbals to play aloud, and the musical instruments of God; and the sons of Jeduthun to be for the service at the gate.
43 And they went all the people everyone to house his and he turned David to bless house his.
And all the people went every man to his house; and David turned about to bless his house.
