< Job 22 >
1 And he answered Eliphaz the Temanite and he said.
Then answered Eliphaz the Themanite, and said,
2 ¿ To God will he be of use a man for will he be of use? on him a wise [person].
Can a man be serviceable unto God? Truly the intelligent is serviceable unto himself.
3 ¿ [does] pleasure [belong] to [the] Almighty That you are righteous and or? profit that you make blameless ways your.
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that thou art righteous? or is it any gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
4 ¿ From fear your does he reprove you does he go? with you in judgment.
Is it out of fear of thee that he will reproach thee? or go with thee into judgment?
5 ¿ Not [is] evil your great and not? an end [belongs] to iniquities your.
Is not thy evil great? and no end to thy iniquities?
6 For you have held in pledge brothers your without cause and [the] garments of naked [people] you have stripped off.
For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brothers for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
7 Not water [the] weary you have given to drink and from [the] hungry you have withheld bread.
Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and from the hungry thou hast withholden bread.
8 And a person of arm [belongs] to him the land and [one] uplifted of face he dwells in it.
But as for the man of a strong arm, he obtained the land, and the highly honored could dwell therein.
9 Widows you have sent away with empty hands and [the] arms of fatherless ones it has been crushed.
Widows hast thou sent away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10 There-fore [are] around you snares and it terrifies you dread suddenly.
Therefore are snares round about thee, and sudden dread terrifieth thee.
11 Or darkness not you will see and abundance of water it covers you.
Or seest thou not the darkness? and the abundance of water which covereth thee?
12 ¿ Not [is] God [the] height of heaven and look at [the] top of [the] stars that they are high.
Is not God in the height of heaven? and beholding the highest elevation of the stars, however high they are?
13 And you say what? does he know God ¿ through thick darkness will he judge.
But thou sayest, “What doth God know? can he judge behind the darkness?
14 Clouds [are] a hiding place of him and not he will see and [the] circle of heaven he walks about.
Thick clouds are a covering for him, so that he will not see; and he walketh along on the circle of heaven.”
15 ¿ A path of antiquity will you keep which they have trodden men of wickedness.
Wilt thou [thus] observe the path of ancient times which the men of injustice have trodden?
16 Who they were snatched away and not an appropriate time a river it was poured out foundation their.
Who were shrivelled up before their time, whose foundation was flooded away like a river;
17 Who were saying to God depart from us and what? will he do [the] Almighty to them.
Who said unto God, “'Depart from us:” and what wrought the Almighty for them?
18 And he he filled houses their good thing[s] and [the] counsel of wicked [people] it is far from me.
And yet it was he that filled their houses with good things; but the counsel of the wicked be [still] far from me.
19 They see [it] righteous [people] so they may rejoice and [the] innocent he mocks them.
The righteous will see it, and be glad; and the innocent will laugh them to scorn.
20 If not he has been destroyed adversary our and abundance their it has consumed fire.
“Is not he destroyed that rose up against us, and hath not the fire consumed what they had left?”
21 Be reconciled please with him and be at peace by them it will come to you good.
Do but become acquainted with him, and be at peace: thereby will happiness come unto thee.
22 Accept please from mouth his instruction and put words his in heart your.
Do but accept instruction from his mouth, and lay up his saying in thy heart.
23 If you will return to [the] Almighty you will be built up you will remove injustice from tent your.
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, so thou wilt but remove wrong-doing far away from thy tents.
24 And put on [the] dust gold and among [the] rock[s] of wadis gold of Ophir.
And throw down in the dust precious metals, and [the gold of] Ophir to the stones of the brooks:
25 And he will be [the] Almighty gold your and silver of heaps for you.
Then will the Almighty be thy precious metal, and brightly-shining silver unto thee.
26 For then on [the] Almighty you will take delight and you may lift up to God face your.
For then wilt thou have in the Almighty thy delight, and thou canst lift up unto God thy face.
27 You will pray to him and he will hear you and vows your you will pay.
Thou wilt make entreaty unto him, and he will hear thee, and thy vows wilt thou pay.
28 And you may decide a matter and it may be fulfilled for you and on ways your it will shine light.
And if thou decree a thing, it will be fulfilled unto thee; and upon thy ways the light will shine.
29 If people brought low and you said up! and [the] lowly of eyes he will save.
For when men are brought low, thou wilt say, Pride [hath done it]; but those of lowly eyes [God] will help.
30 He will deliver not an innocent [person] and he will be delivered by [the] cleanness of hands your.
He will even deliver him who is not guiltless: and thou wilt be delivered by the purity of thy hands.
