Job 15
1 Then responded Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
௧அப்பொழுது தேமானியனாகிய எலிப்பாஸ் மறுமொழியாக:
2 Should, a wise man, answer unreal knowledge? or fill, with the east wind, his inner man?
௨ஞானவான் காற்றைப்போன்ற நியாயங்களைச் சொல்லி, தன் வயிற்றைக் கொண்டல்காற்றினால் நிரப்பி,
3 Disputing with discourse that doth no good, or with speech, wherein is no profit?
௩பயனில்லாத வார்த்தைகளாலும், உபயோகமில்லாத வசனங்களாலும் தர்க்கம் செய்யலாமோ?
4 But, thou, wouldst take away reverence, and wouldst attain unto meditation before GOD.
௪நீர் பயபக்தியை வீணென்று சொல்லி, தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக ஜெபத்தியானத்தைக் குறைத்துக்கொண்டீர்.
5 For thine own mouth would teach thine iniquity, and thou wouldst choose the tongue of the crafty.
௫உம்முடைய வாய் உம்முடைய அக்கிரமத்தைச் சொல்லிக்காட்டுகிறது; நீர் தந்திரமுள்ளவர்களின் சொல்லைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டீர்.
6 Thine own mouth shall condemn thee, and, not I, And, thine own lips, shall testify against thee.
௬நான் அல்ல, உம்முடைய வாயே உம்மைக் குற்றவாளி என்று முடிவு செய்கிறது; உம்முடைய உதடுகளே உமக்கு விரோதமாகச் சாட்சியிடுகிறது.
7 The first of mankind, wast thou born? Or, before the hills, wast thou brought forth?
௭மனிதரில் முந்திப் பிறந்தவர் நீர் தானோ? மலைகளுக்குமுன்னே உருவாக்கப்பட்டீரோ?
8 In the secret council of GOD, hast thou been wont to hearken? Or canst thou attain for thyself unto wisdom?
௮நீர் தேவனுடைய இரகசிய ஆலோசனையைக் கேட்டு, ஞானத்தை உம்மிடமாகச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டீரோ?
9 What knowest thou, that we know not? [What] understandest thou, and the same, is not with us?
௯நாங்கள் அறியாத எந்தக் காரியத்தை நீர் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்? எங்களுக்கு விளங்காத எந்தக் காரியமாவது உமக்கு விளங்கியிருக்கிறதோ?
10 Both hoary and venerable, are among us, one mightier than thy father in days!
௧0உம்முடைய தகப்பனைவிட அதிக வயதுள்ள நரைத்தோரும் மிகுந்த வயதானோரும் எங்களுக்குள் இருக்கிறார்களே.
11 Too small for thee, are the consolations of GOD? or a word spoken gently with thee?
௧௧தேவன் அருளிய ஆறுதல்களும், உம்முடன் சொல்லப்படுகிற மென்மையான பேச்சும் உமக்கு இழிவான காரியமாயிருக்கிறதோ?
12 How doth thine own heart carry thee away, and how thine eyes do roll!
௧௨உம்முடைய இருதயம் உம்மை எங்கே கொண்டுபோகிறது? உம்முடைய கண்கள் கோபத்துடன் பார்க்கிறது என்ன?
13 For thy spirit, replieth against GOD, and thou bringest forth—out of thy mouth—words!
௧௩தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாக உம்முடைய ஆவியை எழுப்பி உம்முடைய வாயிலிருந்து வசனங்களைப் புறப்படச்செய்கிறீர்.
14 What is a mortal, that he should be pure? or that righteous should be one born of a woman?
௧௪மனிதனானவன் பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறதற்கும், பெண்ணிடத்தில் பிறந்தவன் நீதிமானாயிருக்கிறதற்கும், அவன் எம்மாத்திரம்?
15 Lo! in his holy ones, he putteth not confidence, and, the heavens, are not pure in his eyes:
௧௫இதோ, தம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களையும் அவர் நம்புகிறதில்லை; வானங்களும் அவர் பார்வைக்குச் சுத்தமானவைகள் அல்ல.
16 How much less when one is detested and corrupt, a man who drinketh in—like water—perversity.
௧௬அநியாயத்தைத் தண்ணீரைப்போலக் குடிக்கிற மனிதன் எத்தனை அதிகமாக அருவருப்பும் அசுத்தமுமாயிருக்கிறான்?
17 I will tell thee—hear me, Since this I have seen, I must needs declare it.
௧௭உமக்குக் காரியத்தைத் தெரியவைப்பேன் என்னைக் கேளும்; நான் கண்டதை உமக்கு விவரித்துச் சொல்லுவேன்.
18 Which, wise men, tell, and deny not [that which is] from their fathers.
௧௮ஞானிகள் தங்கள் பிதாக்கள் சொல்லக் கேட்டு மறைக்காமல் அறிவித்ததையே நான் சொல்லுவேன்.
19 To them alone, was the earth given, and no alien passed through their midst:
௧௯அவர்களுக்குமாத்திரம் பூமி அளிக்கப்பட்டது; அந்நியர் அவர்கள் நடுவே கடந்துபோக இடமில்லை.
20 All the days of the lawless man, he, doth writhe with pain, and, the number of years, is hidden from the tyrant;
௨0துன்மார்க்கன் உயிரோடிருக்கிற நாளெல்லாம் துன்பத்தால் வாதிக்கப்படுகிறான்; பலவந்தம் செய்கிறவனுக்கு அவனுடைய வருடங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை மறைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
21 A noise of dreadful things, is in his ears, In prosperity, the destroyer cometh upon him;
௨௧பயங்கரமான சத்தம் அவனுடைய காதுகளில் தொனிக்கிறது; அவன் சமாதானமாயிருக்கும்போது பாழாக்குகிறவன் அவன்மேல் வருவான்.
22 He hath no confidence to come back out of darkness, he, being destined to the power oft the sword;
௨௨இருளிலிருந்து திரும்பிவர அவனுக்கு நம்பிக்கையில்லாமல், ஒளிந்திருக்கிறவர்களின் பட்டயத்திற்கு அவன் பயப்படுகிறான்.
23 A wanderer, he, for bread, [saying] Where [is it]? He knoweth that, prepared by his own hand, is the day of darkness;
௨௩அப்பம் எங்கே கிடைக்கும் என்று அவன் அலைந்து திரிகிறான்; இருளானநாள் தனக்குச் சமீபித்திருக்கிறதை அறிவான்.
24 Distress and anguish shall startle him, It shall overpower him, like a king ready for the onset:
௨௪இக்கட்டும் நெருக்கமும் அவனைக் கலங்கச்செய்து, போர்வீரனான ராஜாவைப்போல அவனை மேற்கொள்ளும்.
25 Because he had stretched out—against GOD—his hand, and, against the Almighty, had been wont to behave himself proudly;
௨௫அவன் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கைநீட்டி, சர்வவல்லவருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பராக்கிரமம் பாராட்டுகிறான்.
26 He used to run against him with uplifted neck, with the stout bosses of his bucklers;
௨௬கடினக்கழுத்துடனும், பருத்த குமிழுள்ள தன் கேடயங்களுடனும் அவருக்கு எதிராக ஓடுகிறான்.
27 For he had covered his face with his fatness, and had gathered a superabundance on his loins;
௨௭அவனுடைய முகத்தைக் கொழுப்பு மூடியிருக்கிறது; அடிவயிறு தொந்திவிட்டிருக்கிறது.
28 And had inhabited demolished cities, houses, wherein men would not dwell, that were destined to become heaps.
௨௮ஆனாலும் பாழான பட்டணங்களிலும், குடிபோன கற்குவியலான வீடுகளிலும் குடியிருப்பான்.
29 He shall not be rich, nor shall his substance continue, neither shall their shadow stretch along on the earth;
௨௯அவன் செல்வந்தனாவதுமில்லை, அவனுடைய செல்வம் நிலைப்பதுமில்லை; அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களின் செல்வம் பூமியில் நீடித்திருப்பதில்லை.
30 He shall not depart out of darkness, his young branch, shall the flame dry up, and he shall depart, by the breath of his own mouth!
௩0இருளுக்கு அவன் தப்புவதில்லை; நெருப்புத்தணல் அவனுடைய கிளையைக் காய்ந்துபோகச் செய்யும்; அவருடைய வாயின் சுவாசத்தால் அற்றுப்போவான்;
31 Let no one trust in him that—by vanity—is deceived, for, vanity, shall be his recompense;
௩௧வழிதப்பினவன் மாயையை நம்பக்கூடாது; நம்பினால் மாயையே அவனுடைய பலனாயிருக்கும்.
32 Before his day, shall it be accomplished, with, his palm-top, not covered with leaves;
௩௨அது அவனுடைய நாள் வருமுன்னே அவனுக்குப் பூரணமாகப் பலிக்கும்; அவனுடைய செடிகள் பச்சையாக இருப்பதில்லை.
33 He shall wrong—like a vine—his sour grapes, and shall cast off—as an olive-tree—his blossom.
௩௩பிஞ்சுகள் உதிர்ந்துபோகிற திராட்சைச்செடியைப்போலவும், பூக்கள் உதிர்ந்து போகிற ஒலிவமரத்தைப் போலவும் அவன் இருப்பான்.
34 For, the family of the impious, is unfruitful, and, a fire, hath devoured the tents of bribery;
௩௪மாயக்காரரின் கூட்டம் வெறுமையாகப்போகும்; லஞ்சம் வாங்கினவர்களின் கூடாரங்களை நெருப்பு எரிக்கும்.
35 Conceiving mischief, and bringing forth iniquity, yea, their inmost soul, prepareth deceit.
௩௫அப்படிப்பட்டவன் அநியாயத்தைக் கர்ப்பந்தரித்து அக்கிரமத்தைப் பெறுகிறான்; அவர்கள் கர்ப்பம் மாயையைப் பிறப்பிக்கும்” என்றான்.
