Psalms 128

1 “A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” Happy is he who feareth the LORD, Who walketh in his ways!

[Ein Stufenlied.] Glückselig ein jeder, der Jehova fürchtet, der da wandelt in seinen Wegen!

2 Thou shalt eat the labor of thy hands; Happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee!

Denn essen wirst du die Arbeit deiner Hände; glückselig wirst du sein, und es wird dir wohlgehen.

3 Thy wife shall be like a fruitful vine within thy house; Thy children like olive-branches round about thy table.

Dein Weib wird gleich einem fruchtbaren Weinstock sein im Innern deines Hauses, deine Söhne gleich Ölbaumsprossen rings um deinen Tisch.

4 Behold! thus happy is the man who feareth the LORD!

Siehe, also wird gesegnet sein der Mann, der Jehova fürchtet.

5 Jehovah shall bless thee out of Zion, And thou shalt see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of thy life;

Segnen wird dich Jehova von Zion aus, und du wirst das Wohl Jerusalems schauen [O. Es segne dich, und mögest du schauen] alle Tage deines Lebens,

6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children. Peace be to Israel!

Und sehen deiner Kinder Kinder. -Wohlfahrt über Israel!
