Isaiah 35
1 The wilderness and the parched land shall be glad, And the desert rejoice and blossom as the rose;
Elle se réjouira, la terre déserte et sans chemin, et elle exultera, la solitude, et fleurira comme le lis.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and exult with joy and singing; The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it; The beauty of Carmel and Sharon; They shall behold the glory of Jehovah, The majesty of our God;
Germant, elle germera, et elle exultera toute joyeuse et chantant des louanges; la gloire du Liban lui a été donnée, la beauté du Carmel et du Saron; eux-mêmes verront la gloire du Seigneur, et la majesté de notre Dieu.
3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, And confirm the tottering knees!
Fortifiez les mains languissantes, et affermissez les genoux débiles.
4 Say ye to the faint-hearted, “Be ye strong; fear ye not; Behold your God! Vengeance cometh, the retribution of God; He will come and save you!”
Dites aux pusillanimes: Prenez courage, et ne craignez point; car voici que votre Dieu amènera la vengeance de rétribution; Dieu lui-même viendra, et il vous sauvera.
5 Then shall the eyes of the blind be opened, And the ears of the deaf be unstopped.
Alors les yeux des aveugles s’ouvriront, et les oreilles des sourds entendront.
6 Then shall the lame leap like the hart, And the tongue of the dumb shall sing; For in the wilderness shall waters break forth, And streams in the desert.
Alors le boiteux bondira comme le cerf, et la langue des muets sera déliée; parce que des eaux se sont répandues dans le désert, et des torrents dans la solitude.
7 The glowing sands shall become a pool, And the thirsty ground springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where they lie, Shall be a place for reeds and rushes.
Et la terre qui était aride sera comme un étang, et celle qui avait soif, comme des fontaines d’eaux. Dans les repaires dans lesquels auparavant habitaient des dragons, croîtra la verdure du roseau et du jonc.
8 And a path shall be there, and a highway, And it shall be called the holy way; No unclean person shall pass over it; it shall be for them alone; He that therein goeth in this way, though a fool, shall not err therein.
Et là sera un sentier et une voie, et elle sera appelée la voie sainte; l’impur n’y passera pas, et ce sera pour vous une voie droite, en sorte que les ignorants ne s’y égareront pas.
9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up thereon; It shall not be found there; But the redeemed shall walk there.
Il n’y aura pas là de bon, et une mauvaise bête n’y montera pas, et ne s’y trouvera pas; mais ils y marcheront, ceux qui auront été délivrés.
10 Yea, the ransomed of Jehovah shall return; They shall come to Zion with songs: Everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Et les rachetés par le Seigneur retourneront et viendront à Si on avec des chants de louange; et une allégresse éternelle sera sur leur tête; ils obtiendront la joie et l’allégresse, et la douleur fuira ainsi que le gémissement.
