Ecclesiastes 7
1 A good name is better than precious perfume, and the day of one's death than the day of his birth.
Май мулт фаче ун нуме бун декыт унтделемнул мироситор, ши зиуа морций декыт зиуа наштерий.
2 It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting; for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to heart.
Май бине сэ те дучь ынтр-о касэ де жале декыт сэ те дучь ынтр-о касэ де петречере; кэч аколо ыць адучь аминте де сфыршитул орькэруй ом, ши чине трэеште ышь пуне ла инимэ лукрул ачеста.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter; for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
Май бунэ есте ынтристаря декыт рысул, кэч, прин ынтристаря фецей, инима се фаче май бунэ.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
Инима ынцелепцилор есте ын каса де жале, яр инима челор фэрэ минте есте ын каса петречерий.
5 It is better for a man to hear the rebuke of the wise than to hear the song of fools.
Май бине сэ аскулць мустраря ынцелептулуй декыт сэ аскулць ла кынтекул челор фэрэ минте.
6 For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of a fool. This also is vanity.
Кэч рысул челор фэрэ минте есте ка пырыитул спинилор суб кэлдаре. Ши ачаста есте о дешертэчуне.
7 Surely the gain of oppression maketh a wise man foolish, and a gift corrupteth the understanding.
Аверя луатэ прин силэ ыннебунеште пе чел ынцелепт ши мита стрикэ инима.
8 Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. Better is the patient in spirit than the proud in spirit.
Май бун есте сфыршитул унуй лукру декыт ынчепутул луй; май бине чел бун ла суфлет декыт чел ынгымфат.
9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Ну те грэби сэ те мыний ын суфлетул тэу, кэч мыния локуеште ын сынул небунилор.
10 Say not, “What is the cause that the former days were better than these?” For thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.
Ну зиче: „Кум се фаче кэ зилеле де май ынаинте ерау май буне декыт ачестя?” Кэч ну дин ынцелепчуне ынтребь аша.
11 Wisdom is as good as an estate? yea, it hath an advantage over it for them that see the sun.
Ынцелепчуня прецуеште кыт о моштенире ши кяр май мулт пентру чей че вэд соареле.
12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence. But knowledge hath the advantage. For wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Кэч окротире дэ ши ынцелепчуня, окротире дэ ши арӂинтул; дар ун фолос май мулт ал штиинцей есте кэ ынцелепчуня цине ын вяцэ пе чей че о ау.
13 Consider the work of God! Who can make straight that which he hath made crooked?
Уйтэ-те ку бэгаре де сямэ ла лукраря луй Думнезеу! Чине поате сэ ындрепте че а фэкут Ел стрымб?
14 In the day of prosperity be joyful; but look for a day of adversity! for this also, as well as the other, hath God appointed, to the end that a man should not find out any thing which shall be after him.
Ын зиуа феричирий, фий феричит, ши ын зиуа ненорочирий, гындеште-те кэ Думнезеу а фэкут ши пе уна, ши пе чялалтэ, пентру ка омул сэ ну май поатэ шти нимик дин че ва фи дупэ ел.
15 All this have I seen in my days of vanity. There are righteous men who perish in their righteousness, and there are wicked men who live long in their wickedness.
Тот фелул де лукрурь ам вэзут ын зилеле дешертэчуний меле. Есте кыте ун ом фэрэ приханэ каре пере ын неприхэниря луй, ши есте кыте ун нелеӂюит каре о дуче мулт ын рэутатя луй.
16 Be not righteous overmuch; neither make thyself over-wise! Why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
Ну фи пря неприхэнит ши ну те арэта пря ынцелепт. Пентру че сэ те перзь сингур?
17 Be not overmuch wicked; neither be thou a fool! Why shouldst thou die before thy time?
Дар ну фи нич песте мэсурэ де рэу ши ну фи фэрэ минте. Пентру че врей сэ морь ынаинте де време?
18 It is good that thou shouldst take hold of this; yea, also, from that withdraw not thy hand. For he that feareth God shall escape all those things.
Бине есте сэ ций ла ачаста, дар нич пе чялалтэ сэ н-о лашь дин мынэ, кэч чине се теме де Думнезеу скапэ дин тоате ачестя.
19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men who are in the city.
Ынцелепчуня фаче пе чел ынцелепт май таре декыт зече витежь каре сунт ынтр-о четате.
20 Truly there is not a righteous man upon the earth who doeth good and sinneth not.
Фииндкэ пе пэмынт ну есте ничун ом фэрэ приханэ, каре сэ факэ бинеле фэрэ сэ пэкэтуяскэ.
21 Give no heed to all the words which are spoken, lest thou hear thy servant curse thee!
Ну луа нич ту сяма ла тоате ворбеле каре се спун, ка ну кумва с-аузь пе слуга та ворбинду-те де рэу!
22 For many times thine own heart knoweth also that even thou thyself hast cursed others.
Кэч штие инима та де кыте орь ай ворбит ши ту де рэу пе алций.
23 All this have I tried by wisdom. I said, “I will be wise;” but it was far from me.
Тоате ачестя ле-ам черчетат ку ынцелепчуне. Ам зис: „Мэ вой ынцелепци.” Дар ынцелепчуня а рэмас департе де мине.
24 That which is far off and exceeding deep, who can find it out?
Ку мулт май департе декыт ера май ынаинте ши че адынкэ! Чине о ва путя гэси?
25 I applied my mind earnestly to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom and intelligence, and to know wickedness and folly, yea, foolishness and madness.
М-ам апукат ши ам черчетат тоате лукруриле ку гынд сэ ынцелег, сэ адынческ ши сэ каут ынцелепчуня ши ростул лукрурилор ши сэ причеп небуния рэутэций ши рэтэчиря простией.
26 And I found more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands bands. He that pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be caught by her.
Ши ам гэсит кэ май амарэ декыт моартя есте фемея а кэрей инимэ есте о курсэ ши ун лац ши але кэрей мынь сунт ниште ланцурь; чел плэкут луй Думнезеу скапэ де еа, дар чел пэкэтос есте принс де еа.
27 Behold, this have I found, saith the Preacher, putting one thing to another to find knowledge.
Ятэ че ам гэсит, зиче Еклезиастул, черчетынд лукруриле унул кыте унул, ка сэ ле пэтрунд ростул;
28 That which my soul hath hitherto sought, and I have not found, is this: a man among a thousand I have found, but a woman among a thousand have I not found.
ятэ че-мь каутэ ши акум суфлетул ши н-ам гэсит. Дин о мие ам гэсит ун ом, дар о фемее н-ам гэсит ын тоате ачестя.
29 Lo, this only have I found, that God made man upright, but they have sought out many devices.
Нумай ятэ че ам гэсит: кэ Думнезеу а фэкут пе оамень фэрэ приханэ, дар ей умблэ ку мулте ширетений.
