Acts 9
1 But Saul, yet breathing out threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,
൧ആ കാലത്ത് ശൗല്‍ കോപത്തോടെ കർത്താവിന്‍റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ നേരെ വധഭീഷണി മുഴക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്‍റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു,
2 and asked of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any who were of this way of belief, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
൨ദമസ്കൊസിൽ യേശുവിന്‍റെ മാർഗ്ഗക്കാരായ വല്ല പുരുഷന്മാരെയോ സ്ത്രീകളെയോ കണ്ടാൽ അവരെ പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടി യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻതക്കവണ്ണം അവിടുത്തെ പള്ളികളിലേക്കുള്ള അധികാരപത്രം മഹാപുരോഹിതനോട് വാങ്ങി.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus; and suddenly there shone around a him a light from heaven;
൩അവൻ പ്രയാണം ചെയ്തു ദമസ്കൊസിന് സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ പെട്ടെന്ന് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു വെളിച്ചം അവന്‍റെ ചുറ്റും മിന്നി;
4 and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
൪അവൻ നിലത്തുവീണു; “ശൗലേ, ശൗലേ, നീ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നത് എന്ത്?” എന്നു തന്നോട് പറയുന്ന ഒരു ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു.
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he answered, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
൫അതിന് ശൗല്‍: “നീ ആരാകുന്നു, കർത്താവേ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന് അവനോട്: “നീ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്ന യേശു ആകുന്നു ഞാൻ.
6 But arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
൬നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുക; നീ ചെയ്യേണ്ടുന്നത് അവിടെവച്ച് നിന്നോട് പറയും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 And the men that journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing the voice, but seeing no one.
൭അവനോടുകൂടെ പ്രയാണം ചെയ്ത പുരുഷന്മാർ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു എങ്കിലും ആരെയും കാണാതെ സ്തംഭിച്ചുനിന്നു.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; but when his eyes were opened, he saw nothing; and they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
൮ശൗല്‍ നിലത്തുനിന്ന് എഴുന്നേറ്റ് കണ്ണ് തുറന്നപ്പോൾ ഒന്നും കാണാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ അവനെ കൈയ്ക്ക് പിടിച്ച് ദമസ്കൊസിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി;
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
൯അവൻ മൂന്നുദിവസം കണ്ണ് കാണാതെയും തിന്നുകയോ കുടിയ്ക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെയും ഇരുന്നു.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias, and to him the Lord said in a vision, Ananias! And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
൧൦എന്നാൽ അനന്യാസ് എന്നൊരു ശിഷ്യൻ ദമസ്കൊസിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവനോട് കർത്താവ് ഒരു ദർശനത്തിൽ; “അനന്യാസേ” എന്നു വിളിച്ചു. “കർത്താവേ, അടിയൻ ഇതാ” എന്നു അവൻ വിളികേട്ടു.
11 And the Lord said to him, Arise, and go into the street called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus; for lo! he prayeth,
൧൧കർത്താവ് അവനോട്: “നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് നേർവ്വീഥി എന്ന തെരുവിൽ, യൂദയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു, തർസൊസുകാരനായ ശൗല്‍ എന്നു പേരുള്ളവനെ അന്വേഷിക്ക; അവൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു;
12 and hath seen a man, named Ananias, coming in and putting his hand on him, that he might receive sight.
൧൨അനന്യാസ് എന്നൊരു പുരുഷൻ അകത്തുവന്ന് താൻ കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന് തന്‍റെമേൽ കൈ വയ്ക്കുന്നത് അവൻ ദർശനത്തിൽ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
13 But Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how great evils he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem.
൧൩അതിന് അനന്യാസ്; “കർത്താവേ, ആ മനുഷ്യൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്‍റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാർക്ക് എത്ര ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പലരും പറഞ്ഞു ഞാൻ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
൧൪ഇവിടെയും അങ്ങേയുടെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടുവാൻ അവനു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അധികാരപത്രം ഉണ്ട്” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
15 But the Lord said to him, Go; for this man is to me a chosen vessel, to bear my name before nations, and kings, and the sons of Israel.
൧൫കർത്താവ് അവനോട്: “നീ പോക; അവൻ എന്‍റെ നാമം ജനതകൾക്കും രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കും മുമ്പിൽ വഹിക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നൊരു പാത്രം ആകുന്നു.
16 For I myself will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
൧൬എന്‍റെ നാമത്തിനുവേണ്ടി അവൻ എന്തെല്ലാം കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കേണമെന്ന് ഞാൻ അവനെ കാണിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 And Ananias went away, and entered the house; and putting his hands on him, he said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus who appeared to thee in the way thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mayst receive sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
൧൭അങ്ങനെ അനന്യാസ് ആ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു അവന്‍റെമേൽ കൈ വച്ചു: “ശൗലേ, സഹോദരാ, നീ കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്കുകയും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ നിറയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന് നീ വന്ന വഴിയിൽ നിനക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ യേശു എന്ന കർത്താവ് എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
18 And immediately there fell off from his eyes as it were scales; and he received sight, and arose, and was baptized.
൧൮ഉടനെ അവന്‍റെ കണ്ണിൽ നിന്ന് ചെതുമ്പൽപോലെ വീണു; അവനു കാഴ്ച ലഭിച്ചു. അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് സ്നാനം ഏൽക്കുകയും ആഹാരം കഴിച്ച് ബലം പ്രാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
19 And having taken some food he was strengthened. And he was some days with the disciples in Damascus.
൧൯അവൻ ദമസ്കൊസിലുള്ള ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് കൂടെ കുറേനാൾ പാർത്തു,
20 And immediately he preached Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
൨൦യേശു തന്നെ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എന്നു പള്ളികളിൽ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
21 And all that heard him were amazed, and said, Is not this he that destroyed in Jerusalem those who called on this name? And he hath come hither for this purpose, that he may bring them bound to the chief priests.
൨൧കേട്ടവർ എല്ലാവരും വിസ്മയിച്ചു: “യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഈ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് നാശം ചെയ്തവൻ ഇവനല്ലയോ? ഇവിടെയും അവരെ പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടി മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാനല്ലോ വന്നത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22 But Saul gained still more strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.
൨൨ശൗലാകട്ടെ അധികം ശക്തിപ്രാപിച്ചു, യേശു തന്നെ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ദമസ്കൊസിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാർക്ക് എതിർ പറവാൻ കഴിയാതാക്കി.
23 But after many days had passed, the Jews took counsel together to kill him;
൨൩കുറേനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ കൂടിയാലോചിച്ചു.
24 but their plot became known to Saul; and they were even watching the gates day and night to kill him.
൨൪അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അവർ രാവും പകലും നഗര ഗോപുരങ്ങളിൽ കാവൽ വച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ശൗലിന് അവരുടെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടിനെ കുറിച്ച് അറിവ് കിട്ടി.
25 But his disciples took him by night, and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.
൨൫അതുകൊണ്ട് അവന്‍റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ രാത്രിയിൽ അവനെ ഒരു കൊട്ടയിലാക്കി മതിൽ വഴിയായി ഇറക്കിവിട്ടു.
26 And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join himself to the disciples; and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
൨൬അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് ചേരുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ ഒരു ശിഷ്യൻ എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പേടിച്ചു.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and related to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that he had spoken to him, and hew he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
൨൭എന്നാൽ ബർന്നബാസോ അവനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; അവൻ വഴിയിൽവെച്ച് കർത്താവിനെ കണ്ടതും കർത്താവ് അവനോട് സംസാരിച്ചതും ദമസ്കൊസിൽ അവൻ യേശുവിന്‍റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചതും എല്ലാം അവരോട് വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
28 And he was with them going in and out at Jerusalem,
൨൮പിന്നെ അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർക്കുകയും ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ എല്ലായിടത്തും സഞ്ചരിച്ച് കർത്താവിന്‍റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
29 speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. And he often spoke and disputed with the Hellenists; but they were endeavoring to slay him.
൨൯യവനഭാഷക്കാരായ യെഹൂദന്മാരോടും അവൻ സംഭാഷിച്ചു തർക്കിച്ചു; അവരോ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ തക്കം നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
30 But the brethren obtaining knowledge of it, brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
൩൦സഹോദരന്മാർ അത് അറിഞ്ഞ് അവനെ കൈസര്യയിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി, അവിടെനിന്ന് തർസോസിലേക്ക് അയച്ചു.
31 The church therefore throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being built up, and walking in the fear of the Lord; and by the exhortation of the Holy Spirit it was greatly increased.
൩൧അങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തും, ഗലീല, ശമര്യാ എന്നീ ദേശങ്ങളിൽ ഒക്കെയും സഭയ്ക്ക് സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടായി. സഭ ആത്മികവർദ്ധന പ്രാപിച്ചും കർത്താവിനോടുള്ള ഭക്തിയിലും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്‍റെ സാന്ത്വനത്തിലും വളർന്ന് പെരുകിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
32 And it came to pass, that as Peter went through the whole country, he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.
൩൨പത്രൊസ് എല്ലായിടവും സഞ്ചരിച്ച് ലുദ്ദയിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു,
33 And there he found a certain man named AEneas, who had lain on a bed eight years, and was palsied.
൩൩അവിടെ പക്ഷവാതം പിടിച്ച് എട്ട് വർഷമായി കിടപ്പിൽ ആയിരുന്ന ഐനെയാസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.
34 And Peter said to him, AEneas, Jesus the Christ healeth thee; arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
൩൪പത്രൊസ് അവനോട്: “ഐനെയാസേ, യേശുക്രിസ്തു നിന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കുന്നു; എഴുന്നേറ്റ് നീ തന്നെ കിടക്ക വിരിച്ചുകൊൾക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു.
35 And all that dwelt in Lydda and Sharon saw him; and they turned to the Lord.
൩൫ലുദ്ദയിലും ശാരോനിലും പാർക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാവരും സൗഖ്യമായ അവനെ കണ്ടു കർത്താവിങ്കലേക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞു.
36 Now at Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which name being interpreted is the same as Dorcas, that is, Gazelle. This woman was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did.
൩൬യോപ്പയിൽ “പേടമാൻ” എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള തബീഥ എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു ശിഷ്യ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൾ വളരെ സൽപ്രവൃത്തികളും ധർമ്മങ്ങളും ചെയ്തുപോന്നവളായിരുന്നു.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she fell sick, and died; and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper chamber.
൩൭ആ കാലത്ത് അവൾ ദീനംപിടിച്ചു മരിച്ചു; അവർ അവളെ കുളിപ്പിച്ച് ഒരു മാളികമുറിയിൽ കിടത്തി.
38 And as Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent to him two men with the entreaty, Do not delay to come to us.
൩൮ലുദ്ദ യോപ്പയ്ക്ക് സമീപമാകയാൽ പത്രൊസ് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കേട്ടു: “നീ താമസിയാതെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലോളം വരേണം” എന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ രണ്ടുപേരെ അവന്‍റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.
39 Then Peter arose, and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber; and all the widows came to him weeping, and showing the coats and cloaks which Dorcas made while she was with them.
൩൯പത്രൊസ് എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അവരോടുകൂടെ ചെന്നു. അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ അവനെ മാളികമുറിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവിടെ വിധവമാർ എല്ലാവരും കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടും തബീഥ തങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ കുപ്പായങ്ങളും ഉടുപ്പുകളും കാണിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും അവന്‍റെ ചുറ്റും നിന്നു.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and seeing Peter, she sat up.
൪൦പത്രൊസ് അവരെ ഒക്കെയും പുറത്തിറക്കി മുട്ടുകുത്തി പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു മൃതശരീരത്തിനു നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞു: “തബീഥയേ, എഴുന്നേൽക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവൾ കണ്ണുതുറന്നു പത്രൊസിനെ കണ്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ഇരുന്നു.
41 And he gave her his hand, and raised her up; and calling the saints and the widows, he presented her alive.
൪൧അവൻ അവളെ കൈ പിടിച്ച് എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ച്, വിശുദ്ധന്മാരെയും വിധവമാരെയും വിളിച്ച് അവളെ ജീവനുള്ളവളായി അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിർത്തി.
42 And it became known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
൪൨ഇത് യോപ്പയിൽ എങ്ങും പ്രസിദ്ധമായി, അനേകർ കർത്താവിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon, a tanner.
൪൩പിന്നെ പത്രൊസ് തുകൽ പണിക്കാരനായ ശിമോൻ എന്ന ഒരുവനോടുകൂടെ വളരെനാൾ യോപ്പയിൽ പാർത്തു.
