Acts 5
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
अब एक जना हननिया नाउँ गरेका मानिसले आफ्नी पत्नी सफिरासँग मिलेर एक टुक्रा जमिन बेचे ।
2 and kept back part of the price, his wife also having knowledge of it; and brought a certain part, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
र उनले त्यो पैसाको केही अंश आफूसँगै राखे (यो कुरा उनकी पत्नीलाई पनि थाहा थियो) र यसको बाँकी अंश ल्याएर प्रेरितहरूको पाउमा राखिदिए ।
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why did Satan fill thy heart that thou shouldst lie to the Holy Spirit, and keep back part of the price of the land?
तर पत्रुसले भने, “हननिया, पवित्र आत्मालाई झुट बोल्न र त्यस जमिनको मूल्यको केही अंश राख्नलाई तिम्रो हृदयलाई शैतानले किन भर्यो?
4 While it remained, was it not thine own? And after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why didst thou conceive this thing in thy heart? Thou didst not lie to men, but to God.
यसलाई बिक्री नगर्दा पनि के यो तिम्रो आफ्नो थिएन र? अनि यसलाई बेचिसकेपछि पनि यो तिम्रो आफ्नै नियन्त्रणमा नै थिएन र? तिमीले तिम्रो हृदयमा यस्तो कुरा कसरी सोच्यौ? तिमीले मानिसहरूलाई होइन तर परमेश्वरलाई झुट बोलेका छौ ।
5 And Ananias, hearing these words, fell down, and expired. And great fear came on all that heard of it.
यी कुराहरू सुनेर हननिया भुइँमा लडे र उनको मृत्यु भयो र यो कुरा सुन्नेहरू सबैमा ठुलो डर छायो ।
6 And the young men arose, and wrapt him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
जवान मानिसहरू अगाडि आए र उनलाई कपडाले बेह्रे र तिनीहरूले उनलाई बोकेर बाहिर लगे र गाडे ।
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.
त्यसको झण्डै तिन घण्टापछि उनकी पत्नी त्यहाँ के भएको थियो भन्ने थाहै नपाई भित्र आइन् ।
8 Peter said to her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much. And she said, Yes, for so much.
पत्रुसले उनलाई भने, “तिमीहरूले सो जमिनलाई त्यत्ति नै मूल्यमा बेचेका हौ या होइनौ, मलाई बताऊ ।” उनले भनिन्, “हो, त्यत्तिमा नै हो ।”
9 And Peter said to her, Why is it that ye agreed together to try the Spirit of the Lord? Lo! the feet of those who have buried thy husband are at the door, and they will carry thee out.
तब पत्रुसले उनलाई भने, “तिमीहरू परमप्रभुको आत्मालाई जाँच गर्न कसरी सँगै सहमत भयौ? हेर, तिम्रो पतिलाई गाड्नेहरूका पाउ ढोकामा नै छन् र तिनीहरूले तिमीलाई पनि बोकेर बाहिर लानेछन् ।
10 And she fell down immediately at his feet, and expired; and the young men, when they came in, found her dead, and carried her out, and buried her by her husband.
तिनी तुरुन्तै उनको पाउमा लडिन् र तिनको मृत्यु भयो र ती जवान मानिसहरू भित्र आए र तिनलाई मृत भेट्टाए; तिनीहरूले तिनलाई बोकेर बाहिर लगे र तिनलाई तिनको पतिको नजिकै गाडिदिए ।
11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon all that heard of these things.
पुरै मण्डलीमा र यी कुराहरू सुन्ने सबैमा ठुलो डर छायो ।
12 And many signs and wonders were wrought among the people by the hands of the apostles; and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
प्रेरितहरूको हातद्वारा मानिसहरूका बिचमा धेरै चिह्न र आश्चर्यकर्महरू भइरहेका थिए । तिनीहरू सबै सोलोमनको दलानमा सँगै थिए ।
13 But of the rest no one dared to join himself to them. But the people highly honored them;
तिनीहरूलाई मानिसहरूद्वारा उच्च सम्मान मिलेको भए तापनि कसैले पनि तिनीहरूसँगै सामेल हुन साहस गरेनन् ।
14 and more and more were believers added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women;
अझ धेरै विश्वासीहरू अर्थात् असंख्य स्त्रीहरू र पुरुषहरू प्रभुमा थपिँदै थिए ।
15 so that in the streets they brought out the sick, and laid them on beds and couches, in order that at least the shadow of Peter, as he passed, might overshadow some of them.
पत्रुस त्यहाँबाट भएर आउँदा तिनको छाया तिनीहरूमध्ये कोहीमाथि परोस् भनेर तिनीहरूले बिरामीहरूलाई गल्लीहरूमा बोकेर ल्याए र तिनीहरूलाई खाट र पलङहरूमा राखे ।
16 The multitude also belonging to the cities around came together to Jerusalem bringing the sick, and those plagued by unclean spirits; and they were all healed.
त्यहाँ यरूशलेम वरिपरिका सहरहरूबाट पनि बिरामी र अशुद्ध आत्माले सताइएका मानिसहरू ठुलो संख्यामा आए र तिनीहरू सबैले निको भए ।
17 But the high-priest and all that were with him, which is the sect of the Sadducees, rose up and were filled with indignation,
तर प्रधान पूजाहारी र उनीसँग रहनेहरू सबै जना (जुन सदूकीहरूको सम्प्रदाय हो) उठे र तिनीहरू ईर्ष्याले भरिए ।
18 and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in the public prison.
तिनीहरूले प्रेरितहरूमाथि हात हाले र तिनीहरूलाई सार्वजनिक झ्यालखानामा थुनिदिए ।
19 But an angel of the Lord in the night opened the prison-doors, and brought them forth and said,
तर रातको समयमा परमप्रभुका एउटा दूतले झ्यालखानाका ढोकाहरू खोलिदिए र तिनीहरूलाई बाहिर लगे र भने,
20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
“जाओ र त्यस मन्दिरमा खडा होओ र यस जीवनका सबै वचनहरू मानिसहरूलाई बताओ ।”
21 And hearing this, they went into the temple at daybreak and taught. But the high-priest and they that were with him came and called together the council, and all the elders of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
जब तिनीहरूले यो कुरा सुने तब तिनीहरू सबेरै मन्दिरभित्र प्रवेश गरे र शिक्षा दिए । तर प्रधान पूजाहारी र तिनीहरूसँग भएकाहरू आए र परिषद्लाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूका एल्डरहरूसँगै बोलाए र प्रेरितहरूलाई ल्याउन लगाउनलाई झ्यालखानामा पठाए ।
22 But the officers that came did not find them in the prison; and they returned and brought word,
तर ती गएका अधिकारीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई झ्यालखानामा भेट्टाएनन् र तिनीहरू फर्केर आए र प्रतिवेदन दिए ।
23 saying, The prison we found shut in all security and the keepers standing at the doors: but when we opened them, we found no one within.
“हामीले झ्यालखानालाई राम्ररी बन्द गरिएको पायौँ र पहरेदारहरू ढोकामा उभिरहेका थिए, तर त्यसलाई खोल्दा हामीले भित्र कोही पनि भेट्टाएनौँ ।”
24 And when the priest, and the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were at a loss concerning them, to what this would come.
जब मन्दिरका कप्तान र मुख्य पूजाहारीहरूले यी कुराहरू सुने, के हुने होला भनी तिनीहरू अन्योलमा परे ।
25 But one came and brought them word, Lo! the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.
तब कोही तिनीहरूकहाँ आए र तिनीहरूलाई भने, “तपाईंहरूले झ्यालखानामा राख्नुभएका ती मानिसहरू, मन्दिरमा खडा भएर मानिसहरूलाई सिकाइरहेका छन् ।”
26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence, that they might not be stoned; for they feared the people.
त्यसैले, कप्तान हाकिमहरूसँगै गए र तिनीहरूलाई हिंसाविना नै फर्काएर ल्याए । किनकि तिनीहरू मानिसहरूले ढुङ्गाले हान्लान् भनी डराए ।
27 And having brought them, they set them before the council. And the high-priest questioned them,
तिनीहरूले उनीहरूलाई ल्याएपछि, तिनीहरूले उनीहरूलाई सभाको अगि राखे । प्रधान पूजाहारीले उनीहरूलाई यसो भनेर सोधपुछ गरे,
28 saying, We strictly commanded you not to teach in this name, and lo! ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and mean to bring this man's blood upon us.
“हामीले तिमीहरूलाई यस नाउँमा नसिकाउनलाई कडा आज्ञा दियौँ तर पनि तिमीहरूले आफ्नो शिक्षाले यरूशलेम भरिसकेका छौ र त्यस मानिसको रगत हामीमाथि ल्याउने इच्छा गर्छौ ।”
29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
तर पत्रुस र प्रेरितहरूले जवाफ दिए, “हामीले मानिसहरूको भन्दा परमेश्वरको आज्ञा पालन गर्नु पर्छ ।
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew by hanging him on a cross;
हाम्रा पितापुर्खाका परमेश्वरले येशूलाई मृत्युबाट उठाउनु भयो, जसलाई तपाईंहरूले रुखमा झुण्ड्याएर मार्नुभयो ।
31 him hath God exalted by his right hand, as a Leader and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
परमेश्वरले इस्राएललाई पश्चात्ताप गर्न र पापको क्षमा प्रदान गर्न उहाँलाई राजकुमार र मुक्तिदाता हुनलाई आफ्नो दाहिने हाततर्फ उचाल्नु भयो ।
32 And we are his witnesses of these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit which God hath given to those who obey him.
हामीहरू यी कुराहरूका साक्षी छौँ र पवित्र आत्मा पनि यसको साक्षी हुनुहुन्छ जसलाई परमेश्वरले उहाँको आज्ञा पालन गर्नेहरूलाई दिनुभएको छ ।”
33 But when they heard this, they were filled with rage, and were resolving to kill them.
जब परिषद्का सदस्यहरूले यो सुने तब तिनीहरू क्रुद्ध भए र प्रेरितहरूलाई मार्ने चाहना गरे ।
34 But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, in high esteem with all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while,
तर गमलिएल नाउँ गरेका फरिसी र व्यवस्थाका एक जना शिक्षक थिए जो सबै मानिसहरूद्वारा सम्मानित थिए । उनी उभिए र केही समयको लागि प्रेरितहरूलाई बाहिर रहनलाई आज्ञा गरे ।
35 and said to them [[of the council]], Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as to what ye are about to do in respect to these men.
तब उनले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “इस्राएलका मानिसहरू हो, तपाईंहरूले यी मानिसहरूलाई जे गर्नलाई प्रस्ताव गर्नुभएको छ, त्यसमा राम्ररी ध्यान दिनुहोस् ।
36 For before these days arose Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and came to nought.
केही समयअगि, थूदास केही हुँ भन्ने दाबी गर्दै खडा भयो, र झण्डै चार सय जना मानिस त्योसँगै लागे । त्यो मारियो र त्यसका आज्ञा पालन गर्नेहरू सबै तितरवितर भए र त्यो सब छरपस्ट भयो ।
37 After this man arose Judas the Galilaean, in the days of the registering, and drew people away after him; he also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
त्यो मानिसपछि जनगणनाको समयमा गालीलको यहूदा खडा भयो र कतिपय मानिसहरूलाई आफ्नो पछि खिँच्यो । त्यो पनि नष्ट भयो र उसका आज्ञा पालन गर्दै आइरहेकाहरू सबै छरपस्ट भए ।
38 And now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone; for if this design or this work be of men, it will come to nought;
अब म तपाईंहरूलाई भन्छु कि यी मानिसहरूबाट टाढै रहनुहोस् र यिनीहरूलाई छोडिदिनुहोस् किनकि यदि यो योजना वा काम मानिसहरूको हो भने, यो पतन हुनेछ ।
39 but if it be of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them; lest haply ye be found also fighting against God.
तर यदि यो परमेश्वरको हो भने, तपाईंहरूले तिनीहरूलाई पतन गराउन सक्नुहुन्न र तपाईंहरूले आफैँलाई परमेश्वरको विरुद्धमा लडिरहेको पाउनु हुनेछ ।” यसरी तिनीहरूले तिनको कुरा माने ।
40 And they were persuaded by him; and having called the apostles, they beat them, and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.
तब तिनीहरूले प्रेरितहरूलाई भित्र बोलाए र उनीहरूलाई कुटे र येशूको नाउँमा नबोल्नलाई आज्ञा गरे र तिनीहरूलाई जान दिए ।
41 They therefore went away from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame in behalf of that name;
तिनीहरू त्यस नाउँको निम्ति अपमान भोग्न योग्यका गनिएकामा तिनीहरूले अनान्दित हुँदै त्यो परिषद् छाडे ।
42 and every day, in the temple, and in houses, they ceased not to teach, and to publish the glad tidings concerning Jesus the Christ.
त्यसपछि हरेक दिन मन्दिर र घर-घरमा, तिनीहरूले निरन्तर येशूलाई नै ख्रीष्टको रूपमा सिकाइरहेका र प्रचार गरिरहेका थिए ।
