Acts 2
1 And on the day of Pentecost they were all together in one place.
Коли настав день П’ятдесятниці, усі були разом в одному місці.
2 And suddenly there came out of heaven a sound, as of a rushing mighty wind; and it filled the whole house where they were sitting;
Раптом почувся з неба шум, ніби від сильного вітру, і наповнив увесь дім, де вони сиділи.
3 and there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributing themselves; and one sat upon each of them.
І побачили щось подібне до вогняних язиків, що розділилися й зупинилися по одному на кожному з них.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, even as the Spirit gave them utterance.
І всі наповнилися Святим Духом та почали говорити іншими мовами, як Дух давав їм промовляти.
5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
А в Єрусалимі [тоді] знаходилися юдеї, благочестиві люди з різних народів, що під небом.
6 And when this sound took place, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every one heard them speaking in his own language.
Коли почувся шум, зібрався натовп і дуже збентежився, бо кожен чув, як вони говорили його рідною мовою.
7 And they were amazed, and marveled, saying, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
Здивовані й вражені, вони запитували: «Хіба всі ці, що говорять, не галілеяни?
8 and how is it that we every one hear them in our own language, wherein we were born?
Як же так сталося, що кожен із нас чує їх своєю рідною мовою?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Парфяни, мідяни та еламіти, жителі Месопотамії, Юдеї та Каппадокії, Понту та Азії,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and Romans who sojourn here, both Jews and Proselytes,
Фригії та Памфілії, Єгипту та околиць Лівії, що поблизу Киренеї, відвідувачі з Рима,
11 Cretans and Arabians—how is it that we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God?
юдеї та прозеліти, критяни та араби – усі ми чуємо, як вони говорять про великі діла Божі нашими мовами!»
12 And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What can this mean?
Здивовані та розгублені, вони запитували одне одного: «Що це може означати?»
13 Others making sport of it, said, They are full of new wine.
Інші ж глузували кажучи: «Вони напилися солодкого вина!»
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Men of Judea, and all that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words.
Тоді Петро, піднявшись разом з одинадцятьма, голосно промовив до них: ―Брати-юдеї та жителі Єрусалима! Щоб вам було зрозуміло, послухайте уважно мої слова!
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; for it is the third hour of the day;
Ці [люди] не п’яні, як ви думаєте: зараз лише третя година дня.
16 but this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel,
Але це те, що сказав пророк Іоїл:
17 “It shall be in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams;
«В останні дні, – каже Бог, – Я виллю Духа Мого на всіх людей. Ваші сини та доньки будуть пророкувати, ваші юнаки бачитимуть видіння, і старцям вашим будуть снитися сни.
18 and even on my servants, and on my handmaids, I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
Навіть на рабів та рабинь Моїх у ті дні Я виллю Духа Мого, і вони пророкуватимуть.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
Я покажу чудеса вгорі на небі та знамення внизу на землі: кров, вогонь та куряву диму.
20 the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord cometh, the great and notable day.
Сонце перетвориться на темряву, а місяць – на кров, перш ніж настане великий та славний день Господній.
21 And it shall be that every one that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
І кожний, хто прикличе ім’я Господнє, буде спасенний».
22 Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God to you by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God wrought by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves know, —
Ізраїльтяни, послухайте ці слова: Ісус із Назарета був Чоловіком, засвідченим вам від Бога чудесами, великими ділами та знаменнями, які Бог робив через Нього посеред вас, як ви самі знаєте.
23 this man, being delivered up by the settled purpose and foreknowledge of God, ye, by the hand of godless men, crucified and slew.
Його, призначеного згідно із задумом та передбаченням Божим, ви вбили, прибивши до хреста руками беззаконників.
24 But God raised him up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
Але Бог воскресив Його, звільнивши від муки смерті, тому що не могла вона втримати Його.
25 For David saith concerning him, “I saw the Lord always before me; because he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
Бо Давид сказав про Нього: «Я завжди бачу перед собою Господа, адже Він по правиці моїй, щоб я не похитнувся.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue exulted; moreover also, my flesh shall dwell in hope;
Тому радіє серце моє і веселиться язик мій! Також і тіло моє буде відпочивати в надії,
27 because thou wilt not abandon my soul to the underworld, nor wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
бо не залишиш Ти душі моєї в царстві мертвих і не дозволиш вірному Твоєму побачити тління. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou didst make known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of joy with thy countenance.”
Ти стежку життя мені показуєш; наповнив мене радощами перед обличчям Твоїм».
29 Brethren, I may speak to you with freedom of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day.
Брати, дозвольте сказати вам відверто, що патріарх Давид помер та був похований, і його гробниця збереглася серед нас донині.
30 Being then a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that he would set one sprung from his loins upon his throne,
Але будучи пророком і знаючи, що Бог клятвою обіцяв йому нащадка, якого посадить на свій престол,
31 he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that neither was he abandoned to the underworld, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
він, передбачивши майбутнє, говорив про воскресіння Христа, що Він не залишиться в царстві мертвих і тіло Його не побачить тління. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Бог воскресив Ісуса, і всі ми цьому свідки.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye both see and hear.
Він був піднесений праворуч від Всемогутнього Бога й, отримавши від Отця обітницю Святого Духа, надіслав те, що ви бачите та чуєте.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself saith, The Lord said to my lord, “Sit thou on my right hand,
Бо Давид не піднявся до неба, але сам говорить: «Господь сказав Господеві моєму: „Сядь праворуч від Мене,
35 until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
доки Я не покладу ворогів Твоїх, як підніжок для Твоїх ніг“».
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
Тому нехай весь дім Ізраїля буде впевнений у тому, що Господом та Христом зробив Бог Цього Ісуса, Якого ви розіп’яли.
37 And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what must we do?
Почувши це, вони зворушилися серцем і сказали Петрові та іншим апостолам: ―Брати, що нам робити?
38 But Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized to the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Петро відповів: ―Покайтеся, і кожен із вас нехай буде охрещений в ім’я Ісуса Христа для прощення гріхів, і отримаєте дар Святого Духа;
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.
бо ця обітниця для вас, ваших дітей та всіх, хто далеко, скільки б їх не покликав Господь, Бог наш.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
І багатьма іншими словами він свідчив та умовляв кажучи: ―Спасайтеся від цього непокірного роду!
41 They therefore received his word, and were baptized; and there were added on that day about three thousand souls.
Ті, що прийняли його слово, були охрещені. Того дня до учнів приєдналося близько трьох тисяч осіб.
42 And they were constantly attending on the teaching of the apostles, and the imparting [[of their substance]], the breaking of bread, and the prayers.
Вони твердо тримались навчання апостолів, завжди перебували в братерському спілкуванні, ламанні хліба та молитвах.
43 And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were wrought through the apostles.
Страх охопив кожну душу: багато чудес та знаків робилося через апостолів.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Усі віруючі були разом і все мали спільне.
45 and they sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as any one had need.
Вони продавали своє майно та маєтки й роздавали кожному за його потребою.
46 And attending daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread in a private house, they partook of their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
Щодня вони продовжували зустрічатися разом у Храмі, а вдома ламали хліб та споживали їжу з радістю й щирістю в серці,
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were in the way of salvation.
прославляючи Бога й маючи прихильність усього народу. А Господь щодня додавав до них тих, кого спасав.
