Acts 2
1 And on the day of Pentecost they were all together in one place.
Siku ya Pentekoste ilipowadia, waamini wote walikuwa mahali pamoja.
2 And suddenly there came out of heaven a sound, as of a rushing mighty wind; and it filled the whole house where they were sitting;
Ghafula sauti kama mvumo mkubwa wa upepo mkali uliotoka mbinguni ukaijaza nyumba yote walimokuwa wameketi.
3 and there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributing themselves; and one sat upon each of them.
Zikatokea ndimi kama za moto zilizogawanyika na kukaa juu ya kila mmoja wao.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, even as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Wote wakajazwa na Roho Mtakatifu, wakaanza kunena kwa lugha nyingine, kama Roho alivyowajalia.
5 Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
Basi walikuwepo Yerusalemu Wayahudi wanaomcha Mungu kutoka kila taifa chini ya mbingu.
6 And when this sound took place, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every one heard them speaking in his own language.
Waliposikia sauti hii, umati wa watu ulikusanyika pamoja wakistaajabu, kwa sababu kila mmoja wao aliwasikia wakisema kwa lugha yake mwenyewe.
7 And they were amazed, and marveled, saying, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
Wakiwa wameshangaa na kustaajabu wakauliza, “Je, hawa wote wanaozungumza si Wagalilaya?
8 and how is it that we every one hear them in our own language, wherein we were born?
Imekuwaje basi kila mmoja wetu anawasikia wakinena kwa lugha yake ya kuzaliwa?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Wapathi, Wamedi, Waelami, wakazi wa Mesopotamia, Uyahudi, Kapadokia, Ponto na Asia,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and Romans who sojourn here, both Jews and Proselytes,
Frigia, Pamfilia, Misri na pande za Libya karibu na Kirene na wageni kutoka Rumi,
11 Cretans and Arabians—how is it that we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God?
Wayahudi na waongofu, Wakrete na Waarabu, sote tunawasikia watu hawa wakisema mambo makuu ya ajabu ya Mungu katika lugha zetu wenyewe.”
12 And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What can this mean?
Wakiwa wameshangaa na kufadhaika wakaulizana, “Ni nini maana ya mambo haya?”
13 Others making sport of it, said, They are full of new wine.
Lakini wengine wakawadhihaki wakasema, “Hawa wamelewa divai!”
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Men of Judea, and all that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words.
Ndipo Petro akasimama pamoja na wale mitume kumi na mmoja, akainua sauti yake na kuhutubia ule umati wa watu, akasema: “Wayahudi wenzangu na ninyi nyote mkaao Yerusalemu, jueni jambo hili mkanisikilize.
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; for it is the third hour of the day;
Hakika watu hawa hawakulewa kama mnavyodhania, kwa kuwa sasa ni saa tatu asubuhi!
16 but this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel,
La, hili ni jambo lililotabiriwa na nabii Yoeli, akisema:
17 “It shall be in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams;
“‘Katika siku za mwisho, asema Mungu, nitamimina Roho wangu juu ya wote wenye mwili. Wana wenu na binti zenu watatabiri, vijana wenu wataona maono, na wazee wenu wataota ndoto.
18 and even on my servants, and on my handmaids, I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
Hata juu ya watumishi wangu, wanaume kwa wanawake, katika siku zile nitamimina Roho wangu, nao watatabiri.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
Nami nitaonyesha maajabu juu mbinguni, na ishara chini duniani: damu, moto, na mawimbi ya moshi.
20 the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord cometh, the great and notable day.
Jua litakuwa giza na mwezi utakuwa mwekundu kama damu, kabla ya kuja siku ile kuu ya Bwana iliyo tukufu.
21 And it shall be that every one that calleth on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Na kila mtu atakayeliitia jina la Bwana, ataokolewa.’
22 Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God to you by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God wrought by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves know, —
“Enyi Waisraeli, sikilizeni maneno haya nisemayo: Yesu wa Nazareti alikuwa mtu aliyethibitishwa kwenu na Mungu kwa miujiza, maajabu na ishara, ambayo Mungu alitenda miongoni mwenu kupitia kwake, kama ninyi wenyewe mjuavyo.
23 this man, being delivered up by the settled purpose and foreknowledge of God, ye, by the hand of godless men, crucified and slew.
Huyu mtu akiisha kutolewa kwa shauri la Mungu lililokusudiwa kwa kujua kwake Mungu tangu zamani, ninyi, kwa mikono ya watu wabaya, mlimuua kwa kumgongomea msalabani.
24 But God raised him up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
Lakini Mungu alimfufua kutoka kwa wafu akamwondolea uchungu wa mauti, kwa sababu haikuwezekana yeye kushikiliwa na nguvu za mauti.
25 For David saith concerning him, “I saw the Lord always before me; because he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
Kwa maana Daudi asema kumhusu yeye: “‘Nalimwona Bwana mbele yangu daima. Kwa sababu yuko mkono wangu wa kuume, sitatikisika.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue exulted; moreover also, my flesh shall dwell in hope;
Kwa hiyo moyo wangu unafurahia, na ulimi wangu unashangilia; mwili wangu nao utapumzika kwa tumaini.
27 because thou wilt not abandon my soul to the underworld, nor wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Kwa maana hutaniacha kaburini, wala hutamwacha Aliye Mtakatifu wako kuona uharibifu. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou didst make known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of joy with thy countenance.”
Umenionyesha njia za uzima, utanijaza na furaha mbele zako.’
29 Brethren, I may speak to you with freedom of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day.
“Ndugu zangu Waisraeli, nataka niwaambie kwa uhakika kwamba baba yetu Daudi alikufa na kuzikwa, nalo kaburi lake lipo hapa mpaka leo.
30 Being then a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that he would set one sprung from his loins upon his throne,
Lakini alikuwa nabii na alijua ya kuwa Mungu alikuwa amemwahidi kwa kiapo kwamba angemweka mmoja wa wazao wake penye kiti chake cha enzi.
31 he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that neither was he abandoned to the underworld, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
Daudi, akiona mambo yaliyoko mbele, akanena juu ya kufufuka kwa Kristo, kwamba hakuachwa kaburini, wala mwili wake haukuona uharibifu. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Mungu alimfufua huyu Yesu na sisi sote ni mashahidi wa jambo hilo.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye both see and hear.
Basi ikiwa yeye ametukuzwa kwa mkono wa kuume wa Mungu, amepokea kutoka kwa Baba ahadi ya Roho Mtakatifu, naye amemimina kile mnachoona sasa na kusikia.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself saith, The Lord said to my lord, “Sit thou on my right hand,
Kwa kuwa Daudi hakupaa kwenda mbinguni, lakini anasema, “‘Bwana alimwambia Bwana wangu: “Keti mkono wangu wa kuume,
35 until I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
hadi nitakapowaweka adui zako chini ya miguu yako.”’
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
“Kwa hiyo Israeli wote na wajue jambo hili kwa uhakika kwamba: Mungu amemfanya huyu Yesu, ambaye ninyi mlimsulubisha, kuwa Bwana na Kristo.”
37 And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what must we do?
Watu waliposikia maneno haya yakawachoma mioyo yao, wakawauliza Petro na wale mitume wengine, “Ndugu zetu tufanye nini?”
38 But Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized to the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Petro akawajibu, “Tubuni, mkabatizwe kila mmoja wenu kwa jina la Yesu Kristo, ili mpate kusamehewa dhambi zenu, nanyi mtapokea kipawa cha Roho Mtakatifu.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Kwa kuwa ahadi hii ni kwa ajili yenu na watoto wenu, na kwa wote walio mbali, na kila mtu ambaye Bwana Mungu wetu atamwita amjie.”
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
Petro akawaonya kwa maneno mengine mengi na kuwasihi akisema, “Jiepusheni na kizazi hiki kilichopotoka.”
41 They therefore received his word, and were baptized; and there were added on that day about three thousand souls.
Wale wote waliopokea ujumbe wa Petro kwa furaha wakabatizwa na siku ile waliongezeka watu wapatao 3,000.
42 And they were constantly attending on the teaching of the apostles, and the imparting [[of their substance]], the breaking of bread, and the prayers.
Nao wakawa wanadumu katika mafundisho ya mitume, katika ushirika, katika kumega mkate na katika kusali.
43 And fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were wrought through the apostles.
Kila mtu akaingiwa na hofu ya Mungu, nayo miujiza mingi na ishara zikafanywa na mitume.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Walioamini wote walikuwa mahali pamoja, nao walikuwa na kila kitu shirika.
45 and they sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as any one had need.
Waliuza mali zao na vitu walivyokuwa navyo, kila mtu akagawiwa kadiri ya mahitaji yake.
46 And attending daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread in a private house, they partook of their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
Siku zote kwa moyo mmoja walikutana ndani ya ukumbi wa Hekalu, wakimega mkate nyumba kwa nyumba, wakila chakula chao kwa furaha na moyo mweupe,
47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were in the way of salvation.
wakimsifu Mungu na kuwapendeza watu wote. Kila siku Bwana akaliongeza kanisa wale waliokuwa wakiokolewa.
