Acts 10
1 Now a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
१कर्नेल्य नावाचा मनुष्य कैसरीयामध्ये राहत होता, तो इटलीक नावाच्या पलटणीत शताधिपती होता.
2 a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, giving much alms to the people, and praying to God always,
२कर्नेल्य हा भक्तीमान असून आपल्या कुटुंबासह देवाचे भय बाळगणारा होता; तो गोरगरिबांना पुष्कळसा दानधर्म करीत असे आणि तो नेहमी देवाची प्रार्थना करीत असे.
3 saw in a vision plainly, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, Cornelius!
३एके दिवशी दुपारी तीन वाजण्याच्या सुमारास, कर्नेल्याला दृष्टांत झाला, त्याने तो स्पष्टपणे पाहिला, त्या दृष्टांतांत देवाचा एक दूत त्याच्याकडे आला आणि त्यास म्हणाला, “कर्नेल्या!”
4 And he, looking steadily at him, and becoming affrighted, said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Thy prayers and thine alms have come up for a memorial before God.
४कर्नेल्य देवदूताकडे पाहून भयभीत होऊन आणि म्हणाला. “काय आहे, प्रभू?” देवदूत कर्नेल्याला म्हणाला, “देवाने तुझी प्रार्थना ऐकली आहे, ज्या गोष्टी तू गरीबांना दिल्या आहेत, त्या देवाने पाहिल्या आहेत देवाला तुझी आठवण आहे.”
5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, who is surnamed Peter;
५तू यापो गावी माणसे पाठीव आणि शिमोन नावाच्या मनुष्यास घेऊ नये, शिमोनाला पेत्र असे सुद्धा म्हणतात.
6 he lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the seaside.
६तो शिमोन नावाच्या चांभाराच्या घरी राहत आहे त्याचे घर समुद्रकिनारी आहे.
7 And when the angel that spoke to him had departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of those who waited on him,
७कर्नेल्याशी बोलणे झाल्यावर देवदूत निघून गेला नंतर कर्नेल्याने त्याचे दोन विश्वासू नोकर व एका धर्मशील शिपायाला बोलावून घेतले.
8 and having told them every thing sent them to Joppa.
८कर्नेल्याने या तिघांना घडलेले सर्वकाही सांगितले आणि त्यांना यापोला पाठवले.
9 On the morrow, as they were on their journey, and were drawing near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.
९दुसऱ्या दिवशीही माणसे यापो गावाजवळ आली, ती दुपारची वेळ होती, त्याचवेळी प्रार्थना करावयास पेत्र गच्चीवर गेला.
10 And he became very hungry and wished to eat; but while they were making ready, a trance came upon him,
१०पेत्राला भूक लागली होती, त्यास काही खावेसे वाटले, ते पेत्रासाठी जेवणाची तयारी करीत असता पेत्राला तंद्री लागली.
11 and he beheld heaven opened, and a sort of vessel descending, as it were a large sheet having cords at the four corners, and let down upon the earth;
११आणि आपल्यासमोर आकाश उघडले असून मोठ्या चांदव्यासारखे चार कोपरे धरून सोडलेली एक चादर पृथ्वीवर उतरत आहे असा दृष्टांत त्यास झाला.
12 wherein were all the four-footed beasts and creeping things of the earth, and birds of the air.
१२त्यामध्ये पृथ्वीवरील सर्वप्रकारचे चालणारे, सरपटणारे, आकाशात उडणारे पक्षी होते.
13 And there came a voice to him, Arise, Peter; slay, and eat.
१३नंतर एक वाणी पेत्राने ऐकली, “पेत्रा, ऊठ; यापैकी कोणताही प्राणी मारून खा.”
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything common and unclean.
१४पण पेत्र म्हणाला, “मी तसे कधीच करणार नाही, प्रभू जे अशुद्ध व अपवित्र आहे असे कोणतेही अन्न मी कधी खाल्लेले नाही.”
15 And a voice came to him again, the second time, That which God hath cleansed, call not thou common.
१५पण ती वाणी त्यास पुन्हा म्हणाली, “देवाने या गोष्टी शुद्ध केल्या आहेत, त्यांना अशुद्ध म्हणू नकोस.”
16 This was done three times; and the vessel was immediately taken up into heaven.
१६असे तीन वेळा घडले; मग ते पात्र आकाशात वर घेतले गेले.
17 Now, while Peter was doubting within himself what the vision which he had seen meant, lo! the men who were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate;
१७पेत्र भयचकित होऊन या दृष्टांताचा अर्थ काय असावा याविषयी विचार करू लागला, ज्या लोकांस कर्नेल्याने पाठवले होते, त्यांना शिमोनाचे घर सापडले ते दाराजवळ उभे होते.
18 and they called, and asked whether Simon, surnamed Peter, lodged there.
१८त्यांनी विचारले, “शिमोन पेत्र येथेच राहतो काय?”
19 And while Peter was meditating on the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, men are seeking thee;
१९पेत्र या दृष्टांताविषयीच विचार करत असतांना, आत्मा त्यास म्हणाला, “ऐक, तीन माणसे तुला शोधीत आहेत.
20 but arise, and go down, and go with them, without scruple; for I have sent them.
२०ऊठ आणि पायऱ्या उतरून खाली जा, कारण मीच त्यांना पाठवले आहे, काही संशय न धरता त्यांच्याबरोबर जा.”
21 And Peter went down to the men and said, Behold, I am he whom ye are seeking; for what cause have ye come?
२१मग पेत्र खाली त्या मनुष्यांकडे गेला, तो म्हणाला, “तुम्ही ज्याचा शोध करीत आहात तो मीच आहे, तुम्ही येथे का आलात?”
22 And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by a holy angel to send for thee to his house, and to hear words from thee.
२२ती माणसे म्हणाली, “एका पवित्र देवदूताने तुम्हास आमंत्रित करण्याविषयी कर्नेल्याला सांगितले होते कर्नेल्य हा शताधिपती आहे, तो नीतिमान मनुष्य आहे तो देवाची उपासना करतो, सर्व यहूदी लोक त्याचा आदर करतात, तुम्हास घरी बोलावून तुमचे शब्द ऐकावेत असे देवदूताने त्यास सांगितले आहे.”
23 Then he called them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow he arose and went forth with them, and certain of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
२३पेत्राने त्यांना आत बोलावून घेतले व रात्रभर मुक्काम करण्यास सांगितले, दुसऱ्या दिवशी पेत्र तयार झाला व त्या तीन मनुष्याबरोबर गेला, यापो येथील काही बंधूही पेत्राबरोबर गेले.
24 And the morrow after, he came into Caesarea. And Cornelius was expecting them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
२४दुसऱ्या दिवशी पेत्र कैसरीया शहरात आला, कर्नेल्य त्याची वाट पाहत होता, त्याने आपले जवळचे मित्र व नातेवाईक यांनाही आपल्या घरी जमा केले होते.
25 And as Peter came in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and did him reverence.
२५जेव्हा पेत्र आत गेला, तेव्हा कर्नेल्य त्यास भेटला, कर्नेल्याने पेत्राच्या पाया पडून आदराने त्यास नमन केले.
26 But Peter raised him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
२६पण पेत्र म्हणाला, “उभा राहा, मी तुझ्यासारखाच मनुष्य आहे.”
27 And while talking with him, he went in, and found many who had come together.
२७पेत्र त्याच्याशी बोलत घरात गेला आणि आतमध्ये बरेच लोक जमलेले त्याने पाहिले.
28 And he said to them, Ye know that it is an unlawful thing for a Jew to keep company with one of another nation, or to come near him; but God showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
२८पेत्र त्या लोकांस म्हणाला, “तुम्ही हे जाणता की, यहूदी मनुष्याने इतर विदेशी लोकांच्या घरी जाणे किंवा त्यांच्याशी संबंध ठेवणे हे यहूदी नियमाला धरुन नाही, पण देवाने मला दाखविले आहे की, मी इतर मनुष्यमात्राला अशुद्ध किंवा अपवित्र मानू नये.
29 Wherefore I came without objection, when sent for. I ask therefore, for what reason did ye send for me?
२९याच कारणासाठी जेव्हा हे लोक मला बोलावण्यास आले, तेव्हा मी त्यांच्याशी वाद घातला नाही, आता, कृपाकरून मला सांगा, तुम्ही मला येथे का बोलावले?”
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago, I was fasting till this hour; and at the ninth hour was praying in my house; and lo! a man stood before me in bright clothing,
३०कर्नेल्य म्हणाला, “चार दिवसांपूर्वी, माझ्या घरांमध्ये मी प्रार्थना करीत होतो, बरोबर याच वेळेला म्हणजे दुपारचे तीन वाजता मी प्रार्थना करीत होतो, अचानक एक मनुष्य माझ्यासमोर उभा राहिला, त्याने लखलखीत, चमकदार कपडे घातले होते.”
31 and said, Cornelius, thy prayer hath been heard, and thine alms have been remembered before God.
३१तो मनुष्य म्हणाला, “कर्नेल्या देवाने तुझी प्रार्थना ऐकली आहे, गरीब लोकांस ज्या वस्तू तू दिल्या आहेत ते देवाने पाहिले आहे, देव तुझी आठवण करतो.
32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is surnamed Peter; he lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea-side; and he, when he cometh, will speak to thee.
३२म्हणून यापो या शहरी काही माणसे पाठव व शिमोन पेत्राला बोलावून घे, पेत्र हा शिमोन चांभाराच्या घरी राहत आहे आणि त्याचे घर समुद्राच्या जवळ आहे.
33 I therefore sent to thee immediately; and thou hast done well in coming here. Now therefore we are all present before God, to hear all things that have been commanded thee from the Lord.
३३तेव्हा मी लागलीच तुम्हास निरोप पाठविला, तुम्ही येथे आलात ही तुमची मोठी कृपा आहे, तेव्हा आम्हास जे काही सांगण्याची आज्ञा प्रभूने तुम्हास दिली आहे, ते ऐकण्यासाठी आम्ही सर्व आता येथे देवासमोर जमलेले आहोत.”
34 And Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is not a respecter of persons,
३४पेत्राने बोलायला सुरुवात केली मला आता हे खरोखर समजले आहे की, “देवाला प्रत्येक मनुष्य सारखाच आहे.
35 but in every nation he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is acceptable to him—
३५प्रत्येक राष्ट्रात जो कोणी त्याची भक्ती करतो आणि योग्य ते करतो, त्यास देव स्वीकारतो, व्यक्ती कोणत्या देशाची आहे, हे महत्त्वाचे नाही.
36 the word which he sent to the sons of Israel, publishing glad tidings of peace through Jesus Christ; he is Lord of all men.
३६देव इस्राएली लोकांशी बोलला, देवाने त्यांना सुवार्ता पाठविली की, येशू ख्रिस्ताद्वारे शांती जगात आली आहे, येशू सर्वांचा प्रभू आहे.
37 Ye yourselves know what was spoken of through the whole of Judaea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism which John preached,
३७सगळ्या यहूदीया प्रांतात काय घडले हे तुम्हा सर्वांना माहीत आहे, त्याची सुरुवात योहानाने लोकांस बाप्तिस्म्याविषयी गालील प्रांतात जो संदेश दिला, त्याने झाली.
38 relating to Jesus of Nazareth, that God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power; who went about doing good, and healing all that were overpowered by the Devil; for God was with him.
३८नासरेथच्या येशूविषयी तुम्हास माहिती आहे, देवाने त्यास पवित्र आत्म्याचा व सामर्थ्याचा अभिषेक केला, येशू सगळीकडे लोकांसाठी चांगल्या गोष्टी करीत गेला, जे लोक दुष्ट आत्म्याने पछाडले होते त्यांना येशूने बरे केले, कारण देव त्याच्याबरोबर होता.
39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also slew by hanging him on a cross.
३९येशूने संपूर्ण यहूदीया प्रांतात आणि यरूशलेम शहरात जे जे केले त्या सर्व गोष्टी आम्ही पाहिल्या आणि आम्ही त्याचे साक्षीदार आहोत, पण येशूला मारण्यात आले, लाकडाच्या वधस्तंभावर त्यांनी त्यास टांगून मारले.
40 Him God raised up on the third day, and caused him to be manifested,
४०परंतु देवाने तिसऱ्या दिवशी त्यास जिवंत केले देवाने येशूला लोकांस स्पष्ट पाहू दिले.
41 not to all the people, but to witnesses before appointed by God, to ourselves, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead;
४१परंतु सर्वच माणासांनी येशूला पाहिले नाही, देवाने त्यांना अगोदरच साक्षीदार म्हणून निवडले होते, त्यांनीच त्यास पाहिले, ते साक्षीदार आम्ही आहोत येशू मरणातून उठविला गेल्यानंतर आम्ही त्याच्याबरोबर अन्नपाणी सेवन केले.
42 and he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who hath been appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.
४२येशूने आम्हास ‘लोकांस उपदेश करायला सांगितले, जिवंतांचा आणि मरण पावलेल्यांचा न्याय करण्यासाठी देवाने त्यास आपल्याला आहे’ हे सांगण्यासाठी त्याने आम्हास आज्ञा केली.
43 To him all the prophets bear witness, that through his name every one that believeth in him shall receive forgiveness of sins.
४३जो कोणी येशूवर विश्वास ठेवतो, त्यास क्षमा केली जाईल, येशूच्या नावामध्ये देव त्या व्यक्तीच्या पापांची क्षमा करील, सर्व संदेष्टे हे खरे आहे असे म्हणतात.”
44 While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all that heard the word.
४४पेत्र हे बोलत असतानाच त्याचे बोलणे ऐकत बसलेल्या सर्व लोकांवर पवित्र आत्मा उतरला.
45 And those of the circumcision who believed, as many as came with Peter, were astonished that on the gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit;
४५यहूदी सुंता झालेले विश्वास ठेवणारे जे पेत्राबरोबर आले होते, ते चकित झाले, यहूदी नसलेल्या लोकांवरसुद्धा पवित्र आत्माच्या दानाचा वर्षाव झाला आहे, यामुळे ते चकित झाले.
46 for they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God. Then answered Peter,
४६आणि यहूदी नसलेल्या लोकांस निरनिराळ्या भाषा बोलताना आणि देवाची स्तुती करताना यहूदी लोकांनी ऐकले.
47 Can any one forbid water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit even as we have?
४७मग पेत्र म्हणाला, “या लोकांस पाण्याने बाप्तिस्मा देण्यास आपण नकार देऊ शकत नाही, ज्याप्रमाणे आम्हास मिळाला, त्याचप्रमाणे त्यांनाही पवित्र आत्मा मिळाला आहे.”
48 And he commanded that they should be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they entreated him to remain some days.
४८म्हणून पेत्राने कर्नेल्य, त्याचे नातेवाईक आणि मित्र यांना येशू ख्रिस्ताच्या नावाने बाप्तिस्मा देण्याची आज्ञा केली, मग पेत्राने आणखी काही दिवस त्यांच्याबरोबर रहावे अशी त्या लोकांनी त्यास विनंती केली.
