Luke 16
1 He also said to his disciples, "There was a certain rich man who had a manager. An accusation was made to him that this man was wasting his possessions.
೧ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಾರುಪಾತ್ಯಗಾರನಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನ ಕುರಿತು ಯಜಮಾನನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಇವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಯಾರೋ ದೂರು ಹೇಳಿರಲಾಗಿ,
2 He called him, and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for you can no longer be manager.'
೨ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, ‘ಇದೇನು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳುವ ಸಂಗತಿ? ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾರುಪಾತ್ಯೆಯ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು, ನೀನು ಇನ್ನು ಪಾರುಪಾತ್ಯಗಾರನಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
3 "The manager said within himself, 'What will I do, seeing that my lord is taking away the management position from me? I do not have strength to dig. I am ashamed to beg.
೩ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಆ ಪಾರುಪಾತ್ಯಗಾರನು, ‘ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಲಿ? ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಈ ಪಾರುಪಾತ್ಯೆಯ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ. ಅಗೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲ, ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ನಾಚಿಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
4 I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from management, they may receive me into their houses.'
೪ಈ ಪಾರುಪಾತ್ಯೆಯ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಜನರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಾನು ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು,
5 Calling each one of his lord's debtors to him, he said to the first, 'How much do you owe to my lord?'
೫ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಾಲಗಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದು ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನನ್ನು, ‘ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು,
6 He said, 'A hundred batos of oil.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.'
೬ಅವನು ‘ನೂರು ಬುದ್ದಲಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆ’ ಎಂದಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬೇಗ ಐವತ್ತು ಬುದ್ದಲಿ ಎಂದು ಬರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 Then he said to another, 'How much do you owe?' He said, 'A hundred cors of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.'
೭ಬಳಿಕ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು, ‘ನೀನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು, ‘ನೂರು ಖಂಡುಗ ಗೋದಿ’ ಅಂದಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಖಂಡುಗ ಎಂದು ಬರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
8 "His lord commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness, for the people of this age are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the people of light. (aiōn g165)
೮ಯಜಮಾನನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕನಾದ ಆ ಪಾರುಪಾತ್ಯಗಾರನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು, ಇವನು ಜಾಣತನ ಮಾಡಿದನು ಎಂದು ಹೊಗಳಿದನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಜನರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಜಾಣರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. (aiōn g165)
9 And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous mammon, so that when it is gone they may welcome you into the everlasting dwellings. (aiōnios g166)
೯“ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ಧನದ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದಾಗ ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. (aiōnios g166)
10 He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
೧೦ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದವನು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾಗುವನು. ಸಣ್ಣ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕನಾಗಿರುವವನು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕನಾಗಿರುವನು.
11 If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
೧೧ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯದ ಧನದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಲ್ಲದವರಾದರೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಧನವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾರು?
12 If you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?
೧೨ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನ ಸೊತ್ತಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಲ್ಲದವರಾದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮದನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾರು?
13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. You are not able to serve God and wealth."
೧೩ಯಾವ ಆಳಾದರೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಲಾರನು, ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವನು, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರಮಾಡುವನು. ನೀವು ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಧನವನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇವಿಸಲಾರಿರಿ” ಅಂದನು.
14 The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.
೧೪ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಹಣದಾಸೆಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
15 He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of people, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among people is an abomination in the sight of God.
೧೫ಆಗ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರೆಂದು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ನೀವು, ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂಥದು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
16 The Law and the Prophets were until John. From that time the gospel of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.
೧೬“ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವೂ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಗಳೂ ಯೋಹಾನನ ತನಕವೇ. ಆ ನಂತರದ ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ಸಾರಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಲಿದೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಲವಂತವಾಗಿ ನುಗ್ಗಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tiny stroke of a pen in the Law to become void.
೧೭ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದೊಳಗಿನ ಒಂದು ಗುಡಸಾದರೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವುದು ಸುಲಭ.
18 Everyone who divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery. He who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.
೧೮“ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಗಂಡಬಿಟ್ಟವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
19 "Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, living in luxury every day.
೧೯“ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಬೆಲೆಬಾಳುವ ನಯವಾದ ನಾರುಮಡಿ ಮುಂತಾದ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವು ಸುಖಸಂತೋಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
20 A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was placed at his gate, full of sores,
೨೦ಅವನ ಮನೇ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಜರನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಇವನು ಮೈತುಂಬಾ ಹುಣ್ಣೆದ್ದವನು.
21 and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table. Yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
೨೧ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಮೇಜಿನಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದ ಎಂಜಲನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ಹಸಿವು ತೀರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು. ಇಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾಯಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಕ್ಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.
22 It happened that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.
೨೨ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಸತ್ತನು. ದೇವದೂತರು ಅವನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಎದೆಗೆ ಒರಗಿಸಿದರು. ಆ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ಸಹ ಸತ್ತನು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು.
23 In hell, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
೨೩ಅವನು ಪಾತಾಳದೊಳಗೆ ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ದೂರದಿಂದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಎದೆಗೆ ಒರಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಲಾಜರನನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ, (Hadēs g86)
24 He called out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue. For I am in anguish in this flame.'
೨೪‘ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೇ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಲಾಜರನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸು ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ತುದಿ ಬೆರಳನ್ನು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ನನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಣ್ಣಗೆ ಮಾಡಲಿ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಕಟಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ’ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
25 "But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in like manner, bad things. But now here he is comforted and you are in anguish.
೨೫ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, ‘ಕಂದಾ, ನೀನು ಆಶಿಸಿದ ಸುಖಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಿ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಲಾಜರನು ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೋ. ಈಗಲಾದರೋ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನ, ಆದರೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಂಕಟ.
26 Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that none may cross over from there to us.'
೨೬ಇದು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ನಮಗೂ ನಿಮಗೂ ನಡುವೆ ದೊಡ್ಡದೊಂದು ಆಳವಾದ ಕಂದಕ ಇದೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಈ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ಹೋಗಲಾರರು. ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಯಾರಿಂದಲೂ ಬರಲಿಕ್ಕಾಗದು’ ಅಂದನು.
27 "He said, 'I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house;
೨೭ಆಗ ಅವನು, ‘ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಲಾಜರನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, so they won't also come into this place of torment.'
೨೮ನನಗೆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಸಹ ಈ ಯಾತನೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ಅವನು ತಾನು ಕಂಡದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಲಿ’ ಅಂದನು.
29 "But Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the Prophets. Let them listen to them.'
೨೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, ‘ಮೋಶೆಯ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿ’ ಅನ್ನಲು,
30 "He said, 'No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'
೩೦ಅವನು ‘ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೇ ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ. ಸತ್ತವರ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅವರು ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು’ ಅಂದನು.
31 "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.'"
೩೧ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಅವರು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳದಿದ್ದರೆ ಸತ್ತುಹೋಗಿದ್ದವನೊಬ್ಬನು ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಒಪ್ಪುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.”
