Psalms 91
1 He who is dwelling In the secret place of the Most High, Habitually lodges in the shade of the Mighty,
Ti što prebivaš pod zaštitom Višnjega, što počivaš u sjeni Svemogućega,
2 He is saying of YHWH, “My refuge, and my bulwark, my God, I trust in Him,”
reci Jahvi: “Zaklone moj! Utvrdo moja! Bože moj u koga se uzdam!”
3 For He delivers you from the snare of a fowler, From a calamitous pestilence.
Jer on će te osloboditi od zamke ptičarske, od kuge pogubne.
4 He covers you over with His pinion, And under His wings you trust, His truth [is] a shield and buckler.
Svojim će te krilima zaštititi i pod njegova ćeš se krila skloniti: Vjernost je njegova štit i obrana!
5 You are not afraid of fear by night, Of arrow that flies by day,
Nećeš se bojati strašila noćnoga ni strelice što leti danju,
6 Of pestilence that walks in thick darkness, Of destruction that destroys at noon,
ni kuge što se šulja kroz tmine, ni pošasti što hara o podne.
7 One thousand fall at your side, And a myriad at your right hand, [But] it does not come near to you.
Pa nek' padaju tisuće kraj tebe, deseci tisuća s desne tvoje, tebi se neće primaći!
8 But with your eyes you look, And you see the reward of the wicked,
Tek što okom pogledaš, već ćeš vidjeti plaću grešnika.
9 (For You, O YHWH, [are] my refuge), You made the Most High your habitation.
Jer Jahve je zaklon tvoj, Višnjega odabra sebi za okrilje.
10 Evil does not happen to you, And a plague does not come near your tent,
Neće te snaći nesreća, nevolja se neće prikučiti šatoru tvojemu.
11 For He charges His messengers for you, To keep you in all your ways,
Jer anđelima svojim zapovjedi da te čuvaju na svim putima tvojim.
12 On the hands they bear you up, Lest you strike your foot against a stone.
Na rukama će te nositi da se ne spotakneš o kamen.
13 You tread on lion and cobra, You trample young lion and dragon.
Nogom ćeš gaziti lava i ljuticu, zgazit ćeš lavića i zmiju.
14 Because he has delighted in Me, I also deliver him—I set him on high, Because he has known My Name.
Izbavit ću ga jer me ljubi, zakrilit ga jer poznaje ime moje.
15 He calls Me, and I answer him, I [am] with him in distress, I deliver him, and honor him.
Zazvat će me, a ja ću ga uslišiti, s njim ću biti u nevolji, spasit ću ga i proslaviti.
16 I satisfy him with [the] length of [his] days, And I cause him to look on My salvation!
Nasitit ću ga danima mnogim, pokazat' mu spasenje svoje.”
