< Psalms 56 >
1 TO THE OVERSEER. [SET] ON “A SILENT DOVE FAR OFF.” A MIKTAM OF DAVID, IN THE PHILISTINES’ TAKING HOLD OF HIM IN GATH. Favor me, O God, for man swallowed me up, All the day fighting he oppresses me,

2 My enemies have swallowed up all the day, For many [are] fighting against me, O Most High,

3 [In] the day I am afraid I am confident toward You.
Ka lung a puen toteh, nang na kâuep han.
4 In God I praise His word, in God I have trusted, I do not fear what flesh does to me.
Cathut dawk (a lawk ka pholen han), Cathut ka kâuep dawkvah, taki han awm hoeh. Tami ni kai dawk bangmouh a sak thai han.
5 All the day they wrest my words, All their thoughts [are] for evil concerning me,

6 They assemble, they hide, they watch my heels, When they have expected my soul.
Kai thei hanelah a kâcai awh teh, cungtalah a kamkhueng awh teh, ka khokhnuk hah mitnout a ta awh.
7 They escape by iniquity, In anger put down the peoples, O God.
Ahnimouh teh a payonnae dawk hoi a hlout awh han namaw. Oe Cathut, na lungkhuek nateh, ahnimanaw hah koung pâlei haw.
8 You have counted my wandering, You place my tear in Your bottle, Are they not in Your scroll?
Ka kâvanae hah na touk teh, tuium dawk ka mitphi hah na ta. Na cauk dawk ao nahoehmaw.
9 Then turn back my enemies in the day I call. This I have known, that God [is] for me.
Nang koe ka hram toteh, ka tarannaw koung a yawng awh han. Hetheh ka panue. Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut teh kaie doeh.
10 In God I praise the word, In YHWH I praise the word.

11 In God I trusted, I do not fear what man does to me,

12 On me, O God, [are] Your vows, I repay thank-offerings to You.
Oe Cathut, nang koe ka lawkkamnae ni na katek teh, nang koevah, pholennae ka dei han.
13 For You have delivered my soul from death, Do You not [keep] my feet from falling? To habitually walk before God in the light of the living!
Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka hringnae heh duenae thung hoi na rungngang. Kahringnaw e angnae rahim vah, Cathut hmalah ka pai thai na han, ka khok kamthui hoeh nahan, na rungngang toe nahoehmaw.
