Psalms 46
1 TO THE OVERSEER. BY SONS OF KORAH. FOR GIRLS’ [VOICES]. A SONG. God [is] our refuge and strength, A most sure help in adversities.
Auf den Siegesspender, von den Korachiten, mit verborgenem Sinne ein Gesang. Gott ist uns Schutz und Zuversicht, in Nöten eine Hilfe, leicht zu finden.
2 Therefore we do not fear in the changing of earth, And in the slipping of mountains Into the heart of the seas.
Drum fürchteten wir uns auch nicht, selbst wenn die Erde wankte, versänken Berge gar ins Meer,
3 Roar—troubled are its waters, Mountains shake in its pride. (Selah)
daß seine Wasser tosend schäumten, daß selbst vor seinem Wüten Berge bebten. (Sela)
4 A river—its streams make glad the city of God, Your holy place of the dwelling places of the Most High.
Ein Strom ist da. Die Gottesstadt erfreuen seine Arme, die heiligste der Wohnungen des Höchsten.
5 God [is] in her midst—she is not moved, God helps her at the turn of the morning!
In ihr ist Gott; sie kann nicht wanken. Gott steht ihr bei noch vor der Morgenwende. -
6 Nations have been troubled, Kingdoms have been moved, He has given forth with His voice—earth melts.
Die Heidenvölker tobten. Reiche wankten. Darein gedonnert hat er, daß die Erde bebte. -
7 YHWH of Hosts [is] with us, The God of Jacob [is] a tower for us. (Selah)
Der Herr der Heeresscharen ist mit uns; und eine Burg ist Jakobs Gott für uns. (Sela)
8 Come, see the works of YHWH, Who has done astonishing things in the earth,
Herbei und schaut des Herrn Taten, der überaus Erstaunliches im Land getan!
9 Causing wars to cease, To the end of the earth, He shatters the bow, And He has cut apart the spear, He burns chariots with fire.
Die Kämpfe läßt er ruhn bis an des Landes Grenze. zerbricht die Bogen und zerschlägt die Speere, verbrennt die Schilde. -
10 Desist, and know that I [am] God, I am exalted among nations, I am exalted in the earth.
"Laßt ab! Bedenket: Ich bin Gott! Ich will erhaben bei den Heiden sein, wie ich erhaben bin im eignen Lande."
11 YHWH of hosts [is] with us, The God of Jacob [is] a tower for us! (Selah)
