< Proverbs 6 >
1 My son! If you have been guarantor for your friend, Have struck your hand for a stranger,
Anaka, raha niantoka ny namanao ianao Ary nandray tanana hiantoka ny hafa,
2 Have been snared with sayings of your mouth, Have been captured with sayings of your mouth,
Ka voafandriky ny teny naloaky ny vavanao ianao Sady voasingotry ny teny naloaky ny vavanao,
3 Do this now, my son, and be delivered, For you have come into the hand of your friend. Go, trample on yourself, and strengthen your friend,
Dia izao no ataovy, anaka, ka afaho ny tenanao (Satria efa mby eo an-tanan’ ny namanao ianao): Andeha mihohoka sy mifona mafy amin’ ny namanao.
4 Do not give sleep to your eyes, And slumber to your eyelids,
Aza avela hatory akory ny masonao, Ary aza avela hilondolondo ny hodimasonao.
5 Be delivered as a roe from the hand, And as a bird from the hand of a fowler.
Afaho ny tenanao toy ny gazela miala amin’ izay mihazona azy, Ary toy ny voron-kely miala amin’ ny tanan’ ny mpamandrika.
6 Go to the ant, O slothful one, See her ways and be wise;
Mandehana any amin’ ny vitsika, ry ilay malaina; Diniho ny fanaony, ka mba hendre;
7 Which has no captain, overseer, and ruler,
Tsy manana komandy ireny, Na mpifehy, na mpanapaka,
8 She prepares her bread in summer, She has gathered her food in harvest.
Nefa mamory ny haniny raha fahavaratra izy, Ary manangona ny fihinany amin’ ny fararano.
9 Until when, O slothful one, do you lie? When do you arise from your sleep?
Mandra-pahoviana no mbola handry ihany ianao, ry ilay malaina? Rahoviana no hifoha amin’ ny torimasonao ianao?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little clasping of the hands to rest,
Mbola hatory kely ihany, mbola ho renoka kely ihany, Ary mbola hanohon-tanana kely hatory,
11 And your poverty has come as a traveler, And your want as an armed man.
Dia ho tonga toy ny lehilahy mimaona hamely ny alahelonao, Ary ny fahantranao ho toy ny jiolahy.
12 A man of worthlessness, a man of iniquity, Walking [with] perverseness of mouth,
Ny olona tena ratsy fanahy sy mpanao ratsy Dia ilay mandehandeha manao vava ratsy,
13 Winking with his eyes, speaking with his feet, Directing with his fingers,
Izay mami-maso sy manao famantarana amin’ ny tongony Ary manao baiko amin’ ny rantsan-tànany;
14 Contrariness [is] in his heart, devising evil at all times, He sends forth contentions.
Fahafetsena no ao am-pony, Mihevi-dratsy mandrakariva izy Sady mamafy ady.
15 Therefore his calamity comes suddenly, He is broken instantly—and no healing.
Ary noho izany dia ho avy tampoka kosa ny loza hanjo azy; Ho torotoro tampoka izy, ka tsy hisy fahasitranana.
16 These six has YHWH hated, Indeed, seven [are] abominations to His soul:
Izao enina izao no halan’ i Jehovah, Eny, fito no ataony ho fahavetavetana:
17 High eyes, False tongues, And hands shedding innocent blood,
Ny maso miavonavona, ny lela fandainga, Ary ny tanana mandatsa-drà marina,
18 A heart devising thoughts of vanity, Feet hastening to run to evil,
Ny fo mamoron-tsain-dratsy, Ny tongotra malaky mihazakazaka hanao ratsy,
19 A false witness [who] breathes out lies, And one sending forth contentions between brothers.
Ny mamoaka lainga ho vavolombelona tsy marina, Ary ny mamafy ady ao amin’ ny rahalahy.
20 Keep, my son, the command of your father, And do not leave the law of your mother.
Anaka, tandremo ny didin-drainao, Ary aza mahafoy ny lalàn-dreninao.
21 Bind them on your heart continually, Tie them on your neck.
Afatory amin’ ny fonao mandrakariva ireo, Ary afehezo eo am-bozonao,
22 In your going up and down, it leads you, In your lying down, it watches over you, And you have awoken—it talks [with] you.
Raha mandeha ianao, dia hitari-dalana anao ireo; Raha mandry ianao, dia hiambina anao; Ary raha mifoha ianao, dia hamelona eritreritra anao.
23 For the command [is] a lamp, And the Law a light, And a way of life [are] reproofs of instruction,
Fa jiro ny didy, ary fanazavana ny lalàna, Ary lalan’ aina ny anatra famaizana,
24 To preserve you from an evil woman, From the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
Hiarovana anao amin’ ny vehivavy ratsy fanahy, Ary amin’ ny fandroboan’ ny lelan’ ny vahiny janga.
25 Do not desire her beauty in your heart, And do not let her take you with her eyelids.
Aoka ny fonao tsy haniry ny hatsaran-tarehiny; Ary aoka tsy hahazo anao amin’ ny hodimasony izy.
26 For a harlot consumes to a cake of bread, And an adulteress hunts the precious soul.
Fa noho ny vehivavy mpijangajanga no mila tsy hananan’ ny lehilahy sombi-mofo, Ary ny amin’ ny vadin’ ny olona no mihaza ny aina soa.
27 Does a man take fire into his bosom, And are his garments not burned?
Mahatondra afo ao an-tratran’ akanjony va ny olona, Ka tsy ho may ny akanjony?
28 Does a man walk on the hot coals, And are his feet not scorched?
Misy mahadia vain’ afo va, Ka tsy ho may ny tongony?
29 So [is] he who has gone in to the wife of his neighbor, None who touches her is innocent.
Dia toy izany izay mankamin’ ny vadin’ ny namany; Tsy maintsy hampijalina izay mikasika azy.
30 They do not despise the thief, When he steals to fill his soul when he is hungry,
Tsy avelan’ ny olona ho afa-maina ny mpangalatra, Raha maka zavatra hahavoky ny tenany izy, na dia noana aza;
31 And being found he repays sevenfold, He gives all the substance of his house.
Fa raha azo izy, dia hampanoneriny fito heny Ka hanome ny fananana rehetra ao an-tranony.
32 He who commits adultery [with] a woman lacks heart, He who does it is destroying his soul.
Izay mijangajanga amin’ ny vehivavy dia tsy ampy saina; Izay ta-hanimba tena no manao izany.
33 He finds a stroke and shame, And his reproach is not wiped away,
Voakapoka sy afa-baraka izy Ary tsy ho afaka amin’ ny tondro-molotra.
34 For jealousy [is] the fury of a man, And he does not spare in a day of vengeance.
Fa ny fahasaro-piaro dia mampirehitra ny fahatezeran-dehilahy, Koa tsy hamindra fo izy amin’ ny andro hamaliany.
35 He does not accept the appearance of any atonement, Indeed, he does not consent, Though you multiply bribes!
Tsy handray vola ho enti-manalady akory izy, Ary tsy hety, na dia omenao fanambatambazana be aza.
